I have been thinking over and over again about whether I should get WoW or EQ 2. I think EQ 2 will have better graphics and gameplay, but it seems like its going to be just a repeat of the old EQ. WoW will be new and exciting, but I dont think it will be as well made as EQ 2. What do you guys think?

Even though I won't play those 2 (going for Guild Wars this year), I would have to say EverQuest 2, the game looks amazing from what I've seen, and I like Sony a lot, sure I like Blizzard, but I don't like the people who play Blizzard's games, so that drives me away. And since Sony has Ever Quest 1, I can only assume that Ever Quest 2 is going to be just as great. I'm going to apply to beta test EQ2, probably won't get in, but would like to try anyway.

I will definitley be going for EQ2 most likely (that is if i can get a computer that will run it with at least 15 fps for under 3000). The graphics and areas look amazing, lots of classes to choose from, amazing character customization... And hey, it's EQ, i'm sure there will be tons of quests and lots of content.
The only thing i'm skeptical about is combat. Looks a little boring.

I think EQ 2 has to win in the end beause they are automatically going to have plenty of customers transfer from regular EQ over to EQ 2, and I beliecve the gameplay and graphics are both better in EQ 2 then in WoW!
honestly man, I mean, some people may "like" the game better, but you can look at screen shots, its obvious the graphics are better in eq 2, dont be a fool.
Dunno what standards you mean to be honest. Many EXPERIENCED reviewers have stated EQ sets the standards for other mmorpgs. So either you are saying EQ is below some kind of standard(in which case tell us which mmorpg is of the standard you think and please don't say none lol) or what.
I will probably try both anyhow and make my choice from there. But atm tilting to EQ2 since 1)they have experience in making mmorpg and blizzard does not 2)they made EQ lol which was of good enough standards for me,the 500,000 currently on it and the near 2 million that have played it for over 6 month periods in the past. 3)It will be a good test for my geforce 6800 ultra when it gets here

well said trufant, very well said, I couldnt agree with you more. EQ 2 knows exactly what they are doing, they know exactly what to make in a MMORPG because they have already made one and updated one, and answered thousands of annoying questions to make their MMORPG the best it can be.
For being in beta , you are very uninformed. They have only just recently raised the level cap to 39 (60 being max). As far as we know it, this keeps out the planned Heroes, mounts, and Horde vs. Alliance battles. We also know PvP is not being tested yet and they have not released unique loot (purple names) to the testers (only GMs.) I don't know how you can expect high-end content early in beta, especially from a company known for thorough testing.
Also we could say the same for EQ2, when it comes to losing staff. Most EQ players would admit the game went downhill after SoE took over, but they continue to play because they have so much time invested. Remember, SoE is at the helm and how they did such a great job with their latest 'guaranteed' hit. There are no guarantees. Not EQ2, not WoW. I will go for WoW first because I know what to expect from EQ, but if WoW fails I will try EQ2. If that fails there will be plenty of others. When all is said and done, I have faith in Blizzard.
i think EQ2 will be better then WOW hands down, im not even bother to try and buy WOW. ive seen a lot of the ppl that made blizzard games great have left for greener pastures.
Hell or the Abyss?
Gah, I hate those loselose choices!

I'm waiting patiently for both (and hurry up WoW euro beta)
I figure WoW will be a lot of fun, but in the end EQ2 will hold interest for longer.
Many people will be opting for EQ2 simply becase of the player base that will flock to WoW. Blizzard is a good company but their player base consists of alot of un-desirables. Not all of them but alot of them are l33T doodz who just wanna keel joo and not waste time with what most EQ players want out of a game. Content.
Say what you will about eq and soe they HAVe set the standard for questing and content. No mmo is perfect but EQ comes closer than any other has.
EQ2's graphics are far superior to that of WoW and the player community that will flock to EQ2 will be the community that started it all. Hopefully we can get the feel that we got before.
These are just hopes and wishes but you never know.
EQ2 all the way.
