Without a doubt I think the greatest one would be about the 1930s Mafia in Chicago.... and one about the wild west and also-- heres a creative one how about a MMORPG abotu Star Wars *drools*

I think a new star wars MMORPG where everyone was a jedi/sith would be good, because although i liked SWG i didnt see much appeal at being anyone who wasnt one with the force.
Also some kind of gang based MMORPG, i like the games workshop game necromunda so maybe something like that.
Or how about an Alien Vs Predator MMORPG, with humans too lol
And finally a terminator based MMORPG set after judgement day so you could be a rebel or a terminator.
I would like to see a game based of Rifts. The whole kit and caboddle. Everything from North America to Africa and beyond. That truely would be a Massive Game. Tho it would take years to work out with so much different stuff to add in.

Me and my friends came up with some ideas and concepts for a new type of mmorpg, sadly i cant release any of the info yet. ill say two things its never been done before, and it involves cars
MMMORPG base on HBO's series Oz. That would be a trip. One with vampires and werewolfs would be sweet too, and you could throw in mad scientists and monster hunter characters too.
I wouldn't mind seeing one based off of Babylon 5 series.

The D&D game seems to have all the best people on board and i am holding out the greatest hope ever for this game. it sounds to me like they are going to completely immerse your in your character and i cant wait.
Fallout would also make for a wonderful MMORPG, the stats and skill combinations were varied enough to just post the single player game on a multiplayer server more or less. though with some development it could be very very good indeed. But i doubt it will happen.
Magic the Gathering. Lots of races and classes, could add unique NPC's from the storyline, rare items like moxes, could fight juzam djinns. Mechanics like flying, first strike, threshold, flashback etc., 5 different faction of colours.

Haha pick up the soap and gain special powers lol.
Reminds me of the common practise in UO in the past when folks were going around saying they had a special potion that made it that you could not be hit for 10 mins and were giving it free to newbies. Then they would ask the newbie to hit them to show how it works and poof the guard appears and kills the poor newbie and his newbie gift stolen lol.
Tho there is one unofficially in the works by an unknown group, I'd like to see one of the big name companies take off with it, easily one of the easiest series to adapt into a mmorpg. There's like over 10,000 pages of background material there. :P

I'd sell my soul for a MMORPG based on the Planscape setting they used in Torment. Or possibly one based on Escaflowne, but they would have to save Guymelefs (sp?) as rewards for fairly late in the game. Even if the game wasn't great I'd probably stick it out to get my hands on a giant robotic medieval suit of armour. Or failing that, Balgus' sword
For those of you who aren't into anime, Escaflowne is the name of a particular giant robotic mediaval suit of armour (collectively called Guymelefs), and Balgus' sword is very, very, big.

I am so ready for a Star Trek MMORPG, but I think it would be hard to accomplish to make it actually fun. I think I could design it to be fun but I'm not in the position to actually acquire funding to develop it (mostly since I've never designed anything bigger than simple mods for FPS games).

4 stars sucks i want my 5 stars back!
MUAHAHAHAHAHA
What's about a MMORPG based on the "Water Margin" the legendary TV serie?
Or a MMORPG based on the Romance of the 3 Kingdoms?
Betatested:
AC2; Lords of Everquest; Horizons; Fung Wan Online; Wish; Saga of Ryzom.
Played:
EQ; DAoC; Horizons; SWG; Shadowbane
Play My magic Tales
Play Rise of Immortals
Play Regno card game for free.
Premium membership available.
Theres a couple of mmporg types that I'd love to see developed:
A real WW2 type game. - Actual player interaction and not limited to History. Kinda interesting i would think.
A game based on the World of Raymond E Feist & Janny Wurts - from the Novels of Magician, and the daughter of the empire series.
Terry Goodkind series - the Magic & world is really nice.
I'm a sci-fi/High Fantasy book worm, so i'm inclined that way..

Online D&D But It would have to be from Forgotten Realms.
I would be in absalute heaven. Wizards of the Coast probably wouldn't allow it though.
Lol, there are some great ideas here.

I would really like to see a MMORPG based in the Old West. Cant go wrong with a good old western
Haha pick up the soap and gain special powers lol.

Shadowrun would be amazing if done right.
It was a sad day when FASA went pop. It almost made me weep and then I remembered I have a complete collection of the Shadowrun game.
I would also like to see Battletech done within a persistent world and capacity for large battles.
Something along the line of mercenaries but with a dynamic persistent universe where the player base could really affect the balance of power.
I can't believe no one has said this yet:
Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time Series
Tho there is one unofficially in the works by an unknown group, I'd like to see one of the big name companies take off with it, easily one of the easiest series to adapt into a mmorpg. There's like over 10,000 pages of background material there. :P

Star trek mmorpg looks great on paper but can not honestly see it working in a mmorpg setting.
