Guys, are you so bored to purposely fall for flamebaits by a person with 4 posts and a nicely conspicious name like "Vangaurd-TP", where TP stands for Troll Poster if you missed it...
On second hand, I'm also tired of constant GW and DDO bashing, they may not be MMO's however a whole lot of online games are not. I think they are rather well done but with distinctively different approach. Someone just likes instances, most like it not.
LOTR is like both WoW and EQ2 in many ways.... It shares the simplicity of the WoW interface and has better quests than either EQ2 or WoW. It's crafting system rivals anything else out there right now (except maybe EVE's) and it has a very nice combat system as well.
I have to say the opposite here.
EQ II's crafting system is a LOT better than LOTRO's.
LOTRO's cratingsystem is one of it's weakest spots.
Just gather some items and put them together automatically.
In EQ II you have to stay alert when you're crafting if you want to be able to make the best items because there is certain moments in crafting where you can fail or succed depending of what you do.
If you just assemble an item without interacting with the special "moves" you will fail miserably.
I'm not sure if you can die anymore from crafting, but in beta and release in EQ II you could actually die when crafting.
Just like spellcrafting in DAOC can make you go BOOM.
LOTRO's craftingsystem really needs some serious love before it can attract hardcore crafters.
It's way to simple now and you can combine all your things AFK using the ingame macroslider.

Personally I detest EQ2's crafting. It feels entirely too much like work. To each their own, I guess. I don't want to have to play wackamole while crafting.

I agree, EQ2's crafting was the only thing I didn't like about the game. Lord Of The RIngs crafting has promise. I just didn't like the rarity of finding mats. But everyone has there own feeling on this so, whatever is easiest for ya.
