I mean, really, I'm sad for you. I'm off enjoying this game and I came here to check in with the forums and people have signatures dedicated to flaming this game...you spend your time online trolling these forums. It's pathetic and I hope your station in life gets better so you can find something better to do than spend your time on a forum for a game you don't even play.

If you save another life (or in this matter 50 bucks) by protesting it then we did our job.
But to be more serious. It's been like this since the dawn of MMOs. If players felt like they've been cheated or felt a game they have been diligently following for five years ends up as a third rate MMO, they're going to voice their opinions about it. It's human nature and it happens in every facet of life.
If you love the game wonderful. That's awesome. But please keep in mind there are others that aren't in your shoes and just as you felt the need to post about how much you loved the game and why are there those who wish to bash it, there are those who feel as if it's a rather bad game and they need to post about how much they are disappointed in it.
And it's especially true with Vanguard because for so many of us, it was suppose to be the MMO that we've been looking forward to play for years. Some of us have been waiting three or more years without a main MMO because everything that came out in 2005 and 2006 was just plain crap. Vanguard was suppose to be the answer to many of our needs. Brad painted a beautiful picture of what the game will have.
The only thing was Brad forgot to mention the things the game would not have as well
But, again, I am very glad you love it. I hope you get many of good hours and months playing it.

This is another example of someone who likes the game who likes to put down someone with a different view than he does. Very close minded indeed. Yukkione, feel free to search my posts in Vanguard. You'll see I have plenty of positive ones too about the game. But, like I said earlier, try not to resort to name calling. It really doesn't make you look all that good.
I'm all for different opinions about a neat video game but lets keep those punches above the belt shall we
P.S I am thrilled you love Vanguard. I hope you get very many months or years of enjoyment out of the game.

I have moved on. However whenever people ask on the forums "Would you recommend Vanguard" I will post my viewpoints. You're just going to have to live with it

there is always going to be someone who doesnt like one thing or another. MMO's are a prime example. I think as long as your post is constructive and mature, and points out why you like or dislike, hey its all good. there is always going be someone liking or not liking something. I think everyone is entitled to an opinion as long as its kept constructive and adult.
Me I like vanguard, is it perfect? nah it definitely needs work, am I willing to take the time to let it mature yes, are other people? maybe not, they have their reasons, and know what? those reasons are fine enough for me. I am not one to judge a person, or label them this or that. I feel alot of people have adequate gripes with the game and therefore they have a right to speak out about it in a forum that is willing to hear them. But just as a person who doesnt like a game should keep things clean, constructive, and adult, the same rules apply to those who Like the game.
That person may be saying A,B C or d about your game, but does it really matter? your playing it and enjoying thats all that matters. they would feel the same way towards you as few posts have illustrated here. i feel like the game or not like the game, everyone has a equal platform to state why they like the game, or why they dont like the game, main thing is to keep it constructive and mature.
Unfortunately some people feel those rules apply to them thus is the result of what you get from people who jump over the line of debate to being a troll/flamer or a down right rude individual where no one will truly take their opinion seriously. Our actions and words say volumes about who we are. what are yours saying about you? think about it.

Filter out the constructive posts and leave the "bad stuff" out. Something I'm not totally free of either all the time I have to admit.
Either way the professional reviews are nice... yet the more information I get, the better for me. Posts on these forums no matter if they are more or less constructive, fit that role. Comes down to you to filter out specific replies to put it that way. Personally I wouldn't want to miss them. Some happenings can be quite entertaining sometimes.
For example the OP isn't something which has the high spirit employed in my book but it was a eye catcher and after looking through the thread I read some valid and good points. So it already served a good purpose.
My point is this: I don't mind it when people are adament about voicing their opinion for a game they had high expectations of. I understand it completely because I'm one of those people. I think there's a big difference between someone who bought and played the game and hated it...and someone who's never played the game and spends all of their time badmouthing it (even I'm not that insane).

@ OP: Yep some of the folks are having so much frustration in them and wasting so much time spamming about the same stuff all over and over again. I'm so sorry they are feeling so miserable and seem to have no better game to play / talk about, and nothing better to do with their lives.
It's also amazing to see how some of those who are parading as forum nazis won't accept that other people can have lots of fun when they do not. I guess some people just need to grow up.
And some of us are so sorry that some people have made a job out of spam advertising a buggy, unfinished and sadly uninspiring grindfest even when the lead dev has confessed it is in an open beta state yet. It breaks our hearts that such people outrageously pretend they don't have any issues with the game and incredibly expect others to believe. Furthermore, they claim they are getting fun out of this - whatever strange sort of fun could be gotten from suffering - and also mislead the unwary to try this product (erm, sorry I meant "project").
Some of us weep over the fact that even growing up will not help such people.

Funny part about forums is that people can never seem to grasp that if a game is good it will succeed and if it sucks then all the bull shit the game is great posts will not help it other than a few box sales which do nothing more than piss more people off because they feel cheated then. Viral advertising does not work when the game blows chunks. I swear it was deja vu of Dark and Light. I watched the forums go from 99% "all games release buggy and they will fix it"posts, to "omygawd I can't take this shit anymore and yes you can have my stuff" posts.

This site is to discuss the good and bad of MMORPGs. This is not a Vanguard affiliate site nor is it a Vanboi or Van-Hater site. For the most part we discuss the advantages and disadvantage of this genre.
If you want a one-sided view of a game visit one of the Vanguard Affiliates as I am sure they delete any post that truly describes Vanguard in it's current state. Here, I think people will be able to shift through the blatant hatred and the blatant Vanboi posts. This is a place where we can discuss games without the obligatory "Go back to WoW!" that is found on the affiliate sites and render those sites very one-sided.
In all the games on this board I have not seen as many post like "I am enjoying this game so much. It is a blast!" as much as on the Vanguard forum. Actually I did. It was on the Horizon's forum. I think that really says something about the game. I think as the G4 review states "You have to work hard to have fun in this game." I think that sums it up. Some people may enjoy S&M as a pleasurable activity also but that does not mean the majority of people will.
Vanguard generates a lot of angst because of the pre-launch hype given to the game. Many people believed the hype and were amazed at the excellent graphics. After all, this was a new game done by the old EQ1 crew. We all expected great things. What we got was a bug infested, performance-challenged mess of a game that would go the way of "Dark and Light" and Horizons if they did not have SOE's money behind it.
As it stands most of us are still hopeful that somehow they can pull it out because we see the potential of the game but it is looking highly unlikely. If you enjoy the game, more power to ya brother but we will not stop expressing our opinions here a mmorpg.com. Personally, I think you are trying to convince yourself that you like the game. I don't think the Sigil Team even believes they have a great game yet. They know it's current state and what needs to be done. It is too bad you are blinded to that.
