I want to see the servers get wiped and let the product stand on it's own without the previous players or people that came on board to get free Jedi... THAT is what I would like to see.
The NGE fresh start.. no money , nothing on all the servers THEN see how that goes.
That would tell the truth about the product more so then the hang ons from previous versions... or because they got the free bees for coming on board with the NGE.
Hell, it's only like 25k players... whats the big deal? lol
Yes, it would be something to see how the people deal with a server wipe. Everyone would get the houses that they keep complaining about removed.    So, current players wouldn't have anything to complain about, after all they would have gotten their way.

I seriously have no sympathy for the people on TC. It clearly states that your characters are not guaranteed to be there tomorrow. They, the players, knew what they were getting into when they decided to make it their home server.

There is NO argument against it.

In regards to the current events on Test Center server, I would like to educate people on history.

When SOE first launched SWG they said "For those who make TC their home for their MAIN TOON they will get the chance to test features before they go live."

When ever they added something new that they wanted tested; lets say for Creature Handler, for example.  They would ASK the TC players if they would try out the Creature Handler changes.  Many players would drop skills from one profession to try out the changes in the new profession, BECAUSE THEY COULD!  This worked out for everyone.

However now that they have shoe horned everyone into a level system, they have completely invalidated the meaning of TC.  Once players advance from level 21 to level 22, they cannot go back to level 21.  If they make a change for level 21 and move it to TC no one on TC can test it now can they?  They may ask players to create a new toon to test the changes with, but considering the grind they have to get from level 1 to the level they need to test is going to prevent 99% of the players from doing it.  So as of right now TC is meaningless.

What is going on is SOE is testing the waters for a complete server wipe of LIVE SERVERS.

So to those who are saying "Cry me a river" to the TC players don't come whining when SOE turns it sights on the live servers trying to fix Humpty Dumpty.

They will probably put up 4 new servers for live and tell everyone to create new charactors, and shut down the old ones for good. No one has elder status, no elder buffs, no inbalance, no broken converted items, clean database ect.

I can see why people would be upset. However, those people should remember that a Test Server is no substitute for a Normal Server and that the Devs can play with it as they please. Everyone going into a Test server should know that. SOE is making a good move by doing this, but reality tells us that even a good move made by SOE can cost them subscribers. We will have to wait and see, but I think this thread is drawing attention to something that isn't that big of a deal.

*crosses fingers and closes eyes* please kill it off..... please please please please please!

I honestly think they're amazed that they had any kind of player base at all to be honest, probably they're trying to shake them off so they don't have to worry about getting their reputation ruined by the NGE fanbois even more when they shut down Star Wars Galaxies..... Which they will! *nods knowingly*

Quoting people doesn't make you clever, in fact, it makes you all the more stupid for not bothering to read the quotes you post in the first place.

Well I have no sympathy for anyone who gets burned by SOE, especially someone who has played SWG and experienced 11-15-05.  But I guess that is another argument

Anyone who is paying SOE a single dime is taking the risk of being screwed over by SOE, that is just a FACT.

--As to the TC wipe, they did enter those servers knowing that they could be wiped...

--When you resubscribe to SWG, an 18 yearold Stripper finds Jesus, gives up stripping, and moves with a rolex reverend to Hawaii.
--In MMORPG's l007 is the opiate of the masses.
--The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence!
--CCP could cut off an Eve player's fun bits, and that player would say that it was good CCP did that.

If they did that the level of shock would be equal to finding out your spouse was cheating on you behind your back with your best friend/sibling.

Would also show the true face of SOE.

stupid SOE at it again.  Why the heck do they need to wipe now?  Isnt it counter productive to test new things on a database that does not have old data?  You think TC players are going to take that server seriously now?  I smell something else is going on.
