2. Old Republic-Era Star Wars MMO - If done right, this could be the mother of all online RPGs. There is so much potential for this kind of setting, it's unbelievable. What sucks is that with Lucas Arts in bed with Sony, this will probably never happen. Personally I think that this should have been the setting for SWG because of various problems with the "current" Imperial vs. Rebel dichotomy, along the Jedi dilemma.

I would like to see a real company buy the source code to this game and make it like so much more uber then it currently is and does in our communities eyes have the potential to be (given a complete MTV make-over).
Shattered Galaxy, an MMORTS , the first of its genre with a complete face list would be priceless to me. ^^.
It won a lot of awards in its time and coming off it (recently after a 3 year gaming run) Kru interactive split off from Nexon before nexon made Maple Story, now our game receives little updates and we get frequent crashes with the introduction of a patch designed to graphically change our avatars.
One of the biggest reasons I never really got into SWG was due to SOE getting their stank all over it... I am a HUGE Star Wars fan (what child of the 80's isn't??) and would love to see itdone right.
Im sure WAR will be a good game but why shelf such a great concept and solid PvP system. Even though the DAOC classic servers have a little life in them, they will be wiped out after the release of WAR, AoC and DF.
now if that is true it will be great for the MMO market, imho, SWG pre 8 was a fantastic game with an awesome community and some good gameplay mechanics, but this new game wont be SWG and i hope that it will be as far away from SWG as it can possibly be, as a late 70's child i am a huge starwars fan and would be estatic if they released a GOOD mmo about the starwars universe, roll on BIOWARE
1. Dune, no doubt. The universe is huge, and it could be the perfect sandbox. I'd say probably timeline wise, just after the first book, perhaps moving the timeline up later.
2. Firefly. I know its in development. I just want this one to go gold, very, very, badly.
3. Star Wars, without SOE. This one has also been said (A lot). But the thing is, SOE dropped the ball, and everybody wants a good Star Wars MMO.
4. Elder Scrolls being translated into an MMO. Personally, I think that if they did it right, we could see the first MMO where Main NPCs stay dead, and there is a true sense of accomplishment.
5. Battlestar Galactica/ Babylon 5. I'm torn between these two. BSG would completely crush any other MMO, but I have a problem figuring out how and if it could work at all realistically. Babylon 5 would be very interesting in an MMO world.

and finally... Imperator - Mythic was working on this prior to them getting the warhammer license. In a recent interview it was stated that the game is more postponed than cancelled but, postponement rarely is a good thing in the gaming biz.
There are actually rumors bioware is gonna do a starwars mmo, it is known they are making a unnamed mmo, and that their facility in austin, texas has hired the original SWG developers.

Effectively, WARHAMMER 40K and VAMPIRE were my first choices. I'm happy enough (hoping that WHM40K won't be just a masked FPS...) now.

4) a Cyberpunk MMORPG (SHADOWRUN would do, but seriously, not the crap they're doing now)
5) GUNDAM (but not a Korean-like grinding fest)
