Using reasoning isn't fair when all I was trying to do was tell you how much the game sucks.

Perhaps they had turned off their "sarcasm detectors" and had moved that excess power into their "reasoning capacitor".

Sarcasm on its own is amusing, as seen in the OP, but it's always at its finest when half of the readerbase simply didn't get the joke.
What do you think- instead of catering to the masses, why don't they just say screw all you 90% of RPG players that like WoW, let's start making game only Recant and the other 10% of the population like, then we'll really reel in the dough and everyone will want to play our real MMORPG b/c it's Uber difficult and you get a surname when you reach lvl 20. Grow up, smarten up, and shut up. If you want to criticize the way MMORPG's are made go right ahead, i don't have a problem with you dong it, but dont go off and degrade everyone else b/c your attention span is too short to stick to one topic.
I love the post, very entertaining and whether you mean it or not i'm not all that fond of WoW either... its the only thing out there 'playable' in my view and until such games as STO, SGW, Tabula Rasa, Huxley, PotBS, and such forth come out... i'm stucking paying my hard-earned dollars every month to play this waste of my life.
Thank you for giving me a laugh though...

Pvp was a grind for items and rep, pve was a grind for items and rep, all this to enable you to get more items which were better then the other items you just grinded, so you could go kill the next dragon and get better items of him.
Not to mention the grind for pot mats, and enchants, the fact that pvp was killed by organised raid groups who always tore apart randoms removing all fun from instanced pvp (which killed outdoor pvp).
I did have fun, I enjoyed raiding with my guild who were great, and 1st boss kills felt nice, after the first ones it was a question of putting the place on farm and..you guessed it, grinding.
The most fun I ever had in WoW was in beta when defending the crossroads against alliance raids of 20+ ppl, and towards the end of beta sometimes it was raided from 3 directions at once, those are my best WoW memories.
Also want something more in depth now, player-driven, where I can leave a mark through pvp, Pirates of the Burning Sea or EVE fits that bill nicely (esp crafting system in both), PotBS though as I can start with a level playing field on launch.
to OP, I feel the same now, not so strong at all, but i reached lvl 60 decked in epics pre-bc and you reached 70, so there will be loads more players who will put in this amount of time before hitting the wall and quitting.

It's okay to insult a game if you've got proof and can back it up, it's okay to state your opinion as long as it isn't going to insult the player base as well, unless someone in say oh I don't know *coughs* SWG *coughs* decides to go insulting you by saying that the pre-cu was crap or whatnot. Just take it easy on the anger, I sure was angry when I left, but i've calmed down now, those scumbags really did my head in but in the end, regardless of whether they were doing anything to me or not, I was glad, I can expand my horizons a bit now, find MMORPG's that suit my style of gameplay. In the end, I have MSN so I can contact my friends, though to be honest I wish they'd quit the game too since I don't like the fact that all they talk about when it comes to gaming is they got a piece of loot in an instance or they went on a raid with their guild the other day where in other games you have people who are talking about the wonderful adventures they're having. That's the kind of game I like to play, where you really feel like your on an adventure instead of just some grind, if I ever quit an MMORPG I just play Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, even if it is an offline game, the level, depth and scale of the game just is amazing, I can walk through a forest and feel as if it's teeming with life instead of just being some crappy 2D texture that someones placed on an invisible 'wall' (some games actually have that o_0 )
WoW fans, if your going to go ahead and flame and insult recant for his post, go ahead, but do it because of the way he posted his opinion, not because just because of his opinion against WoW, I agree with his statement (for the most part) because I feel the same way about the game, the majority of the community is horrible, I would never want to meet most of them in real life save for the few friends that I really liked there, botters weren't that many on my server, but before they were on in droves, the game is far too simple for me and I hate grinding when there is no point to it, when you feel like you haven't really achieved something and can sit back and think "Now I have a cool character that's on the level of everyone else" just give him a break at least, he's angry about this game and so am I, so don't take this kind of thing personally, this is what people like us have personally experienced and we simply don't want anymore of it, particularly on a site which is supposed to allow us to express our own opinions.

well I agree with you that WOW is a bad game it is very time-consuming and it takes your social life away from you.... but i think you could have say all this in a nicer way? Because what you said is gonna piss a lot of ppl off...ppl who hate wow and ppl who like wow. I hate wow and I quit man...ironically, you still play which i find really funny lol
and btw..for ppl who wants to know about the tbc...i bought it and played it...i gotta tell you that it sucks...it's just like the original wow...nothing new.....what's new is that you get new skins and graphics....that's all.....everything is an illusion to ppl who still have lives...for ppl who are addicted to wow...."there is no spoon" eh?

lol this is it...great example. wow fanbois...all they do is raid dungeons with their guild...and then their guild will provide them stuff so they can make some great items that casual players (players that are not hooked to wow) cannot make...
so to ppl who never play wow before...let me summarize what u do exactly in wow
1) level up
2) do raids/farm for rep, whatever...
3) do raids
4) do raids
5) do raids
6) do raids
7) do raids
8) do raids
...
...
200) probably have some great items at this point...better than other players
201) pvp? gank lower levels...do bg...world pvp....
this cycle repeats over and over....

All those games suck and that's why nobody plays them. WoW has 8 million subscribers because every moment of it is fun and raids are awesome and WoW is something you can actually dedicate your life to!
If you don't like it, don't play it.
