    4) FPS MMO (I know some exist but I want to see a really decent one. Kinda like STALKER: Shadow of kjernobyl)

    5) GTA MMO (Grand Theft Auto. An open world, one side could play criminals and the other could play the police. Could be cool but would be very hard to accomplish)

    1. Definitely a western, lots of possibilities

    2.  newer better swg.

    3. zombie mmo anyone?

    4. Dax Flame Online.  You iziot.

    5. Dune sounds sweet, the only problem I could see is that walking around in a bunch of sand all day could get a little boring.

    1) Diablo MMO (because diablo is such a good game and has plenty of lore and stuff to do)

    2) GTA MMO (because gta owns and has plenty of stuff to do)

    3) Western MMO (because the west it fulled up to its eyes in stuff to do)

    4) Oblivion MMO (even though bethesda has said they will never make it multiplayer, it would still be fun because guess what. it has tons of stuff to do (see a pattern?))

    5) any other mmo that would be exciting, fun, entralling, shitload of stuff to do, etc. etc. (mmorpgers fantasy)

Not in exact order but these would be my definite favorites of mmos and 6) would probably be a pirate mmo like pirates of the burning sea.

Some of the real old-school PnP games made into an MMORPG would be fantastic...

    1) Someone stated earlier ... a decent, open ended D&D game set in the Forgotten Realms. Done well, (not like DDO) would be great.

    2) Gamma World. Post apocalyptic world where some fallout causes mutations, some good some bad. Think Wasteland meets Fallout meets CoH.

    3) Definately a Western game, take a bullet in the stomach and die a slow, painful death. Shoot outs, Indians...very DEadwood and dark.

    4) Star Trek Online (let's hope it is done right.)

    5) Car Wars, based off of Steve Jacksons GURPS game of the same name, not like Auto Assault where you are basically a car 95% of the time. More focused on the characters and the world than the cars, same would go for a Battletech game...

My top 5 games I want to see made? ...ok, here they are but ONLY if they get made right. If not, I'd honestly rather not see them. Here they are:

#1 Robotech / Macross - I know alot of you guys like to knock anything that has to do with anime but there is something about being able to fly planes that transform into mecha that even those most opposed to anime would like. Unfortunately, I seriously doubt Harmony Gold would allow any company to have rights to anything Robotech-related to make such a game.

#2 Firefly / Serenity - I would like a universe very similar to this movie /TV series ONLY if I'm not stuck inside my ship the entire time or be stuck on some backwater planet without a ship. It would really have to have both in ship and on foot elements to really make it work.  Think of it... make your character, work as a crewmember on someone else's ship for awhile until you have the money to buy or even custom build your own ship then you can hire a crew (other players or NPC) and be a captain. In that time you could choose what you want to do like work for the government, be a smuggler, bounty hunter or even a space pirate.  Other possible basis for a space game like this could be anime like Cowboy Bebop, Sol Bianca or Outlaw Star (these are somewhat similar to Firefly / Serenity)  I really just want a good space game with playable maps for ship decks,  outside ship gameplay, abillity to own shuttles/fighters that can dock with your main ship, the abillity to disable and board an enemy ship to capture it for yourself, a huge universe with planets that are actually to scale rather than the really small ones in most space games... things like that.

#3 Castlevania Online - I think it would be cool to be able to make your own vampire slayer like Simon Belmont and go killing all the vampires, zombies and things that are found in the classic castlevania world. I would ONLY like it if it is nothing like WOW (I hate all WOW copies... and the original too) There aren't any good horror survival MMORPGs out there (plenty of really crappy ones though). It is my belief that the Castlevania story for an online game would finally give us that one good horror MMO.

#4 Grand Theft Auto Online - Although a bit too chaotic as I picture myself logging in to get ganked by a car in the first 3 seconds would still be interesting. No need to go into detail due to the number of times people suggest this.

#5 ....I really don't have a 5th one in mind.  maybe something post appocalypse like Mad Max or Fallout (Fallen Earth looks promising for this) or some kind of old west game where you can carry a six shooter and either wear a tin star or be an outlaw.  I'd also like to see any kind of anime based game that isnt all Dragonball Z-like with everyone getting really uber universe-destroying super powers (Robotech or a better, english form of  Gundam Online would be preferred).

things that should be turned into an MMO:

    1) Marvel (which I hear they are doing)

    2) Zelda or Super Mario MMO .. something Nintendo based

    3) Yakuza or Triad or Mafia ... some type of organized crime MMO with a sandbox feel .. NOT a GTA rip off maybe more Godfather like

    3) Warhammer 40,000 (i've been a fan of the 40,000 series)

    4) Gundam Wing .. Im not a big fan of anime but there really hasnt been a well done Mech MMO and I think using Gundam would be good. But not restricting people to just mech's ... utilize a pre SEO SWG style? maybe

    5) Half-Life??? ... maybe not ... but still.

    Good topic

My top 5 or so games would start with the good old FASA favorites of

    1. BATTLETECH... Why someone has not done this (FASA) is a wonder to me, the story line for a MMO was hinted at the end of the MW:4 game and it is a well known and liked game (Mechwarrior) . You tie in FASA's space battle, aerotech and other modules from the old P&P game and you could have a excellent game universe.

    2. SHADOWRUN....Only reason this one is not #1 is it's lack of online history other than people begging...I SAY BEGGING for it

    3.  A good decent SCI-FI game where you can actually be a person and not a ship (EVE will have this soon)

    4. A good military game combining a persistant realm and good FFP game play (HUXLEY will fill this I think) perhaps like a America's army but set in the near future (just to add those neat weapon systems that are in developement)

    5. All the above without a monthly fee!  (And no I am not a GW fanboy....I do love their price though)

Witty saying to amuse you goes here.

    1.  20's ganster's based MMO

    2.  Western based MMO

    3.  City building MMO (personal idea....)

The less RPG based, the better....

    The less tolkien-esque, the better.....

The less swords and sorcery, the better....

And, if it can be original, instead of based on an existing property, the better....

Ah the question about the future , " Top 5 MMOs " !

I would definitely like an mmo with the same concepts of voyage century but the shift of the exploring part done by all the 3 transports like ships , planes and trains. This game should give the entire map to all its players and the crafts should be sold at a common terminal listing them but with player's prizes. Each player should be made to purchase a few inches of land and then through this economy of infinite crafting , production and combat gains more lands.Eventually the player sells lands to other players and this builds guilds.Levelling is to be done in an infinite journey not through levels but through ages thus unlocking new items and makes the end game go to infinity with developers either keeping pace from the stone age to this modern age or surpasses the modern times and heads out to future through player wishes and player game play time. The map in this game should have changing landscapes and perishable raw material resources in a random manner but keeping an intent watch that for every loss to the player there is a subsequent  gain also. Now it depends on the player to minimise the loss through intelligence and to take the best oppurtunity of the positive to proceed furthur. The game should be very political with the scope to unite lands and create new boundaries and also to keep own existence in a guild through other guilds help and thus openning the scope to rebel against the existent guild leaders. This ultimately ensures a breed of gamers who make maps not with the existing blend of reality but who makes alliance and relationships through playing together. Its not that the largest map wins but the most organized and helpful and interactive guild dominates the other guilds. So on and so forth.........................................................................................

    Hehe ! Sounds Impossible !

    Solution is there.

Rather than 5 MMOs and all 5 trying to take a market share why not unite all 5 MMOs with all their features in a single platform with all their characters and their game play features. The billing should be done on the basis of which development guild draws the maximum players for the maximum time in their domain of development. The domain will be decided by which items came from which developers and whose landscape seemed the most interestingly challenging to race this infinity. Thus we may see unision of servers and unision of minds and also there is a boot for the developers and the guilds if they are unable to sell them at this common platform. When booted they have to leave their development to the game , but their branch of development may not prosper.

We may start it in a very modest way with a few game developing companies creating a bit and few palyers paying almost negligible , but the aim is to unite all the developers and all the players in this MMMMORPG "Massive Most Multiplayer Multidevelopment Online Role Playing Game"

Hehe ultimately the players  initial payment decides at what age ( Stone age / Bronze age ..... ) he wants to enter this game but the monthly fee remains constant.

    Cheers.

" Don't listen to anyone who tells you that you can't play this or that. That's nonsense. Make up your mind, and you'll never whine or repent about gaming hours anymore, then have a go at every Game. Open up the Internet, join in all the Mmorpgs you can. Go make the Guild. But never, never let them persuade you that things are too difficult or impossible. "

Well, first and foremost I would have to go with a darker mmo.  I'd say something like the UNDERWORLD theme.  maybe not from that franchise, but something with Vampires, warewolves, souleater, and etc.

I'm not even big on vampires, but I think a game with that kind of environment has potential.

2nd I would have to say a GOOD space/scifi.  SWG sucked, so if they re-did that, or got the Startrek game going good (and not turn out like SWG).  I don't know about having one based on BSG or B5.  I think the Startrek and Starwars galaxies have such a vast universe built into their story line they would be the easiest to do.

A Starcraft MMORPG would efidently get me signed up.

A Forgotten Realms based game would be good

One world I would love to see made into a MMO, is the Edgar Rice Burroughs series of John Carter of Mars.  Kind of a fantasy with an entirely different twist.  Of course I will be many of you have never read the series.

I think it would be a great basis for a MMO.

hmm I can only think of 3 right now...

    1) Diablo

    2) D&D ( As far as I am concerned, a noteworthy one does NOT exist at this moment)

    3) Shenmue
