In most games I do not enjoy the teeny crowd. A lot of them aren't very commited to anything and have a large problem with things being "lol gay" or "dum".
In WARHAMMER I expect there to be just as much of this as any other game. Conversely, I am going to be able to kill them outright if they are on the other team.
You better believe I will target people with names like "pwnsu" and "pwnshardlolmage" first. I find much more satisfaction out of killing someone like that.

Posts like that are one reason I try not to consider the age of people who reply to my posts, or who make posts I reply to. I think I would be greatly disappointed by what 30 -40 year olds have to say.

While the post isn't very eloquent, and the poster jumps to a lot of conclusions, that really ins't a good example of immaturity. There are a lot of people, both mature and immature, that were sorely disappointed in Vanguard. Not only for the promises not kept, but also for the general state of the game. Truth is, Vanguard shipped when it did, because they couldn't afford the testing phase anymore, and because they were being pressured by investors. Yet, that's still no excuse. People who accept the unpolished, unfinished, buggier-than-is-credible state of the game, are sending a message to the rest of the industry that gamers will take whatever crap they shovel onto us. Most annoying are the fanbois that shout, "all MMOs are buggy when they launch," as they are in denial.
If Sigil can pull together a decent game within the next 4 months, then I wish Vanguard all the luck. If not, then Brad should become an example for future developers on how NOT to run a business or create a game. I hope dev companies like Mythic kept their eye on Vanguard's development cycle. so they might learn from its mistakes.

I am sad that WAR won't have an M rateing. The lore in table top is very graphic and dark, but i love it like that it makes it seem more realistic and not so cartoonish.
As far as maturity, if the tabletop gaming base translates over to this game the player base (at least to begin with) will be mature. Many Warhammer players are adults or more mature teens. However, as the game gets older more people will join in on it and therefore the player base may weaken in the maturity department.

Naaj, sorry to brother you mate. But when I work in into a local Games Workshop Store its full of 13-14 kids there is playing either 40K or fantasy. Same with the minor roleplay and tabletop clubs around. Thats is also okie, but for my concern I like to hang around with ppl on my own age when I playing, there is of cause always other adults there is very immature, same with some kids there is more ahead and act mature.
If you wanna see the definition of a poor player base try city of villians. I'm highly confident that both WAR and age of conan will have plenty of players with vent, and good mmo ettiqutte to hook up with. Its hard to say between AoC and WAR the base will be different. From limited experience with Shadowbane, I have noticed when you have guild owned/built cities/outposts.Then the guild's and alliances are a more important entity ,than say in WAR where you are fighting for NPC cities.
1:-its hard to work out the immature iv played with alot of different ppl and fought alot more
2:-there are those ppl who //corpse camp - wait till just after you have killed a mob and are low health then jump you
3:-those ppl who stay in big groups and gank eg 3 vs 1 ofc the team of 3 will win and not only do it once keep doing it till the poor sod on his own has to give up or send tells/complane about the team of 3
4:-those who are sore loosers in a fair pvp fight after they have lost spamm you with tells and stuff ( /ignore)
5:-you get ppl who ( rare as they are) will wait till after you have finished killing your mob and your health to be full b4 attacking for a fair fight they might even help you kill the mob b4 to get to the pvp faster
6:-there are those in pvp who will loose in pvp but knowing it was a good fight go somwhere else to lvl or in the other extreme be exately like group 2 or 4
7:- there are some ppl who will fight somone and win after winning and proving he is better carry on killing mobs and not touch the other guy again and let them lvl along side with you
8:- sadly for those ppl in group 7 the guy who got beat may get his friends to come along and become a group 3
from that how do you decide mature and immature ppl when most of the time its the situation at the time
most ppl iv met have a mixture of these groups and im sure most of you know what i mean by them if you have played mmo's
heres basic things that players do that get me reaching for a sedative and a drink .
1.They go afk in the middle of a fight unannounced 2.They refuse to use vent 3. They decide to wander like a retard and pull whole camps in pve and wipe out groups.4.They leave the group on the spur of the moment after everything has been set up.
Im sure theres more im forgetting so feel free to add some.

1) More a sign of self involvement, rather than immaturity. And sometimes reasonable. If you are playing with parents of younger children, you get used to the occasional disappearance. Kids get out of bed, break things, and throw up. Parents have to respond immediately.
2) No offense, but I dispise voicechat. If anything, voicechat drops the maturity levels of your group by 20 points. Having to deal with squeakers, salor-worthy cursing, and demands to "prove your gender" are not things I equate with maturity.
3) Inexperience, not immaturity. Annoying, but only a problem if they refuse to change their ways after to explain the situation to them.
4) Same as #1. But I really hate this one! There's nothing like finally getting a group together for a 1-2 hour dungeon, only to have some player 5 minutes in say, "Hey how long is this going to take? I have to go to the movies with my gf in 20 minutes."

You and i both know that the ratings dont mean jack...Who cares if AoC is rated mature. Dumb parents with spoiled kids will get this game no matter what the rating because their stupid little offspring want it. I see kids in elementary school all the time buy M rated games with their parents and they couldnt care less. DAoC didnt have much on the immature, little kid player base...atleast I didnt think so. I dont see a WoW immature level happening with either of these games because more than likely the little kids will keep getting pissed off at me chopping their heads off which will then make t hem go stab someone in real life and putting them in some therapy. So it looks like if there are any kids playing WAR people like me will be your savior.
I agree with the points you've made Are'el, except the point on ventrilo, there's nothing worse than when your whole group or guild uses TS/Vent and 1 or 2 people refuse to come on for whatever reason. You then find everything takes alot longer because after explaining something on comms you then have to explain in chat to the people who aren't on.
To the OP, I think this game will attract a large variety of players, from all sorts of age groups. Go look at the ages of people in a GW store local to you if you have one. Majority are 12-18 with a few adults generally. On top of the tabletop players who will be playing this you've got your usual mix of MMO players, I see a community reminiscant of WoW in alot of ways.
It is goign to be mostly kids , everyone knows this. I was really hoping it would have a M rating (not becuase of the kids issue) but becuase its Warhammer it shoudl have blood and guts and rather bad stuff. However, Mythic is aiming for a game that graps as many players as possible and ... thats ok to me. You just have to find guilds with people you like.

No matter what age rating a game gets its gonna have immature players, age also doesn't matter when it comes to maturity. Having immature players is not necessarily a bad thing either, alot of players i've known have not been mature in the slightest and yet they are the most funniest people you can meet.
Having mature players is not necessarily a good thing either, i have known alot of mature players that make the game into a chore mainly because they take far too many things serious and have no sence of humour about things cause they say its childish. The point im trying to make is that a mature player can be a jerk and also a immature player can be a jerk and that you will get people like that no matter what the age rating is or how old they are. The best thing to do in a mmo is find the people that you like and have fun with them and ignore the people that you don't.
If people have a household emergency it's understandable they need an afk.But it is proper to tell the grp on vent real quick
that u need an afk.If your house hold is totally out of control, then u are what I call unplayable atm,and need a long afk. Then grp of other 5 or 7 fill slot and move on.If the player base is like daoc or shadowbane, which im sure the better guilds will be former players of.They require vent with working headset/mic to join.Else you will be stuck running in the cannon fodder zergs.Actually in DAoC even the zergs adopted vent.So you would even be sub-zerg material.Omg,sounds like an environmental hazard,"call the EPA".
Not this crap again... Ya know, I'm tired of saying the same thing over, and over, so I'm gonna change things up a bit. WAR will be rated T for Teen. That means that no one older than a teen will be playing the game. It will be wall to wall leetspeak, like, ok? AoC will be rated M for Mature. That means that only mature adults will be playing that game. Every time you log in, there will be an intelligent conversation waiting for you. Cause age = maturity as we all know. And only intelligent, well spoken adults could possibly be interested in Conan, or Lord of the Rings, or Pirates. So, you'd probably be better off leaving WAR to the 7-8 year old audience it's being targeted to.
Age doesn't equal maturity, I'm 16 and 1 d0n7 t4lk l1k3 th1s.
I'm also looking for an mmo where you don't get the 'immature' audience that seem to have a vocabulary of 'lol' 'omgz' 'rofl' 'noob'
I'm getting AoC , Maybe WAR, depending on what happens with it.

Age does not represent maturity!
I was playing EQ at the age of 13 and people I still know now from that time would comment that my maturity was well above my age. Aversely, I have also met players older then me now who's attitude and level of maturity is equal to that you would expect of a child.
Generally you can avoid these kind of people by judging their name and writing style. You tend to find players who prefer to use txtspk and leetspk have a much lower maturity level.
The bad news is that there will be immature players...you will never stop it in any MMO. The good news is you get more enjoyment from ganking them, so enjoy!
Umm, I'm an avid player of the Warhammer Tabletop game and I have to say 65% of them are 20+. Honestly, I really think Warhammer Online is going to be a lot of older players. Not saying that only older players can be mature, I'm 11 but if your worried that this game will be flooded with "L33t speaking kiddos" I am afraid you may slightly disapointed
