this is the norm in Eve online, the crooks are everywhere and the decent people are few and far between.  After all, CCP is corrupt and cheats, you'd expect anyone playing Eve Online to also cheat and steal.  I'm sure CCP is a role model for this type of anti-social behavior....

Not feeling bad at all makes me think you might be a socialpath

You are so cool and 1337! U r teh 3bil! Did you stop to think that you are having fun at the expense of other REAL PEOPLE who have worked for months for those things? Your statement lends me to believe you care nothing for other people. Besides that you also care nothing for yourself by coming to a public forum and touting your thievery for the world to see. All you have done is show other people your actual intelligence level and age.

We had a corp thief steal from us about 1.5 years ago.
Very bad move, we informed every corp he joined that he was a corp thief and if they still kept him we war decced them.

Took about 3 months before he stopped playing the game. Can't say I am proud of having driven someone from the game but he deserved it.

Note that we several times offered to stop going after him if he returned the stuff but he never did, mostly because he screwed up when stealing. What he stole was a huge amount of produced t1 mods for a total value of around 1-1.5b then he refined it all with no skills and sold the minerals below market gaining a total of 500m isk. So he basically didn't have enough to pay back even if he wanted to.

Stupid of your corp to leave you with full access rights, as to you being a corp thief ..... you are lower than the dirt I walk on.  Corp thiefes are bottom feeding scum, hell spies and people that log off to avoid combat are even better than your sort.

You must have had a questionable upbringing, if you feel no guilt or anxiety over an incident of this calibre.

A little hint unless you joined the corp as a spy from a rival corp with the express purpose of sabotaging that corp, you should fell a little guilty at least.

This is what eve is all about people. Its the freedom to do whatever you want.

What to be a pirate? sure! Super corp running the trade routes?! sure!

I think most of you are taking this way out of proportion. Its a game; and hes having fun with the limitless posabilities of a game universe.

No. They are my friends and actual real people that I play other games with. I'm not a thief and don't steal from my friends. Even if they weren't, I'd still not steal from them. It's a scumbag thing to do. I have enough self respect to not want to be a scumbag.

You're right.  let's put it into perspective.

CCP sanctions isk to gtc transactions.  therefore, the company producing EVE, gives ingame currency a realworld value.  i can purchase a 90-day GTC for 320-350m isk.  90 day gtc is what? $45?  so we'll round it off at 333 1/3 million isk per 90 day card.  we get 3 of said GTCs per billion, so 15 in 5 billion.  15 times $45 =  $675.

    so the op is

1- looking for attention, because he CAN'T post on the eve-o forums about his theft, without verifying that he's a POS loser.  no REAL corp would ever take him in at that point.

2- someone who worked with a corp for X amount of time, being their buddy and friend, leaving on good terms, still having rights to the hangar BECAUSE he was a good friend of people in the corp and they figured he'd still be cool when he came back; but he just jacked every last one of them.  he now has the freedom to do that in every corp he goes into... be cool with folks for a few months, win their trust, get access to things, then steal everything he can.  just because i CAN walk into a bank with a sawed off shotgun and rob the place, does not mean that it is an INTELLIGENT thing to do.  just because i CAN run down a schoolyard full of children whilst driving a large vehicle, does not mean that it is a moral, ethical, wise, or even remotely INTELLIGENT thing to do.  am i putting this back into perspective correctly?

    and

3- a total noob (or maybe some kid wannabe gangsta) -- he thinks 5 billion isk is worth having your toon blacklisted for the rest of it's eve career.  unless the corp is just uber rich and 5 billion is actually nothing to them and they're laughing, because they have a legitimate reason to plague him (and any corp/alliance he EVER joins) for the rest of his eve career.  i'd hope that they weren't a big pvp corp/alliance whose only purpose is to well, pod folks repeatedly.

oh well, cheers for being (or being supportive) of someone who just made one huge booboo.

could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?

LET'S really put this into perspective...

    1. Its a game," i dont really want to damage my E-cred Yo". Dont make me laugh .  If someone does this kinda thing, i guess thats how they want to play the game. If they have RL friends the story is differant, it would just be a D in the A . But I woulden't loose my freind-ship towards them. I would lol, and get even.

    2. its a game, don't make refrences to real life.

    3. its a game, If its not against the rules i guess its ok. If i make enemys in a game, i expect to be tracked down by obsessive players. That makes the game fun, Its changes things up a little bit.

When you can always change your online personna. I certainly dont want to get offended on message boards>sarcasm<.

maybe next time, you could actually read what i posted and reply to what i posted, instead of what "the voices" said?  mmmkay?

you CAN go tell every GM, dev, and volunteer ingame and on the eve-o forums to do very bad things with their bodies and very sharp pointy objects.   why aren't you engaging in that every day?  it's NOT real life.  you don't personally know ANY of them.   oh wait, there MIGHT be rules against that.  do it to everyone in the coalition OR bob.  if you don't, and post about it on eve-o; then WHY not?  it's not real life.  you don't know them personally offline.  you don't care if you "damage my E-cred Yo". it's NOT against the rules.

otherwise, explain to me how exactly your reply made any sense, please.

edited: i'd re-explain what i had explained, IF this were a WoW forum.

I've never stolen anything from a corp, and can think of only one life form that is lower on the scales then corp-thieves....thats cheating-devs.  (okokok, corp spies was close, but just not as bad...)

But honestly, I am surprised it isn't a common thing in Eve, seeing how lacking the corp security tools are...even though they are better now then when I started in beta, they are still wanting. (audit logs of removals would be a nice touch).

ccp the "we cheat for our buddies and are proud of it" company...

After my last post i conned some new members about where our other stations where and hit them all up. I cleared out 7 stations. I am estimatating 3-7 billion per station.  and one more thing

I feel good about how much i just made. The Corp was wastefull anyways and they are in a all out War. this should cripple them, while i join the other side.  Its not liked i logged on after 3 months and just took it. I lost contact with them, didnt really know them that much anymore, and my buddy was in the alliance they are at war with so i made a decision. Join my friend while crippling his enemy as much as i can from the inside. So a thief i would say i am not. It was more of a strategic move.

Then add your voice to those who have sujested this before you. you never know it may even speed up things in that area. Not that there is anything you or anyone else can do to stop corp theft/sabotage if you give them hangar access.

And thats the thing all corp security is negated if you give someone other than you corp hangar access. I never give anyone more than basic mods hangar access every other hangar is off limits.

love it. while everyone else wants to cry about "morality" and all that balogna.... I will say to the defense of the OP, HELL YEH!! just knowing that there is this type og gameplay goin on in EVE makes me want to play again. not saying that this is the type of move I would do PERSONALLY... but you gotta admit, this puts a nice spin on things. this my friends.... this is freedom.

my SWG guild pulled a move like this one time. we where IMP and we had some of our guild members go REB and become spys and join some REB guilds that had bases and such. when he was giving zoning rights and the ability to give zoning rights to others, we piled into town and plopped down TONS of structures just in time for the new mayoral race to begin. our spy ran in the race and since about 25 of us where there and citizens of this fine REB town, we out voted the REB mayor and seized control of the town... IN THE NAME OF THE EMPIRE!!! while this may sound to some peeps as unethical... the simple fact that a sneaky tactic like this could actually be pulled off... welll geeeeeze.... that made the game WORTH playing. and may I point out... ITS A FREAKIN WAR!!! since when do they ever have to be ethical...

um, you missed a few posts there...  in the first post, he mentioned NOTHING about what you quoted.  after no one really supported him, THEN he changed his actions to "oh, i'm at war and a spy now, so i did it for the cause".  being at war, and being a lying thief are two different things.  although, the second will claim to be the first.
