You can't justify it or explain it, we don't care, you broke the ToS = Terms of Service, just so you know, its their game, their rules, their accounts, you actually just "lend" it from them with a paying fee.

Well you broke the rule of letting someone else use your account and I don't see how paying a third party for Honor points would be any different than buying gold or equipment or power leveling

If you believe a law is unjust then break it...BUT.....if you get caught and get n trouble you are not aloud to complain whine or bitch.
to translate If you believe marijuana should be legalized and think the law is unjust go ahead and light up but if you get in trouble you can't blame anyone but yourself for breaking the law, not the cops for doing their job or the goverment for making it illegal.
Blizzard makes the rules it is your choice to follow them or not. Choose not to and live with the consequence if you get caught.
Welcome to MMOs. They live and thrive on time sinks. If you don't like that, it's time to find some other genre of games until some company breaks the cookie cutter mold and comes up with an MMO where success in the game is not equal to time invested (or as you tried and failed at, pay other people to do it for you).
Remember, it's a game and a game is about having fun. If it's not fun, it's time to move on. You going on and on about capitalism and wanting to pay for things, makes me think that you're not playing the game to have fun. It sounds more like you're playing it to show off your bling bling and uberness. That may not be the case, but that's how it comes across to me and may be the way it comes across to other people as well.
I'm sorry for your loss. Unlike other posters in this thread, I don't take great pleasure in seeing you banned even though I'm very much against buying gold and other services for hard cash. As I see it, by the time someone purchases gold, loot or services for real money, that person has already lost the meaning of the game, regardless of whether he or she actually gets caught.
Take some time to reflect on the whole thing. I think deep down, you knew you were breaking the rules and had it coming. You thought you were going to get away with it. That it was okay because you weren't harming the economy per se. But you got caught red handed and now you're trying to justify what you did, heck even take "revenge" by using money to get a new lvl 70 character. Question is, to whom are you trying to justify it all? Us or perhaps yourself?
Anyway, if you must pay for things, there's a way to do just that legally. The game is called EverQuest II and all you have to do is to play on one of the exchange servers. How well the whole exchange thing works, I can't tell, but the game itself is a good alternative to WoW and is quite casual and solo friendly these days. Another possibility is Lord of the Rings Online. It's very similar to WoW in terms of gameplay feel and since it's in open beta, you'll get a fresh start like everybody else.
Hope it helps in some way or another and good luck with whatever you decide on.

My brother had an account banned because while he was away on business, his kid was browsing the web and got a keylogger. And of course the kid logged into his dads account to send some things to his.
Needless to say when he got back from his trip he found he had a banned account and this was just right after he had resubed for 6 months.
Seems that what is in the TOS is overridden by consumer protection laws, he had Visa remove the charge and got his money back.
Blizzard was hopping mad and tried to tell him that what he did was a violation of the TOS.
Dear Blizzard, you cannot enforce a contract if it violates existing laws, it is just null and void. So it seems that Blizzard's lawyers are not very cognizant of existing consumer protection laws.
And people wonder why wow is a joke.
All MMO's have a ToS and EULA that say more or less the same thing. Wether ya mate got you banned or you got ya self banned from downloading a keylogger etc, you still broke your agreement, ignorance is no defence.
Why God!!!! I simply said, I did one thing (ONE THING) that was wrong... I admit to it... I got banned... Im not whining or complaining.. just directing a simple mistake on a thread. I didnt ask for anyones opinions about How i cheated and Yeah great you got banned...
I only wish that if any of you had your pin number stolen off a credit card and you didnt read the fine print when you got it the would state that you are responsible for all transactions regaurdless of who used the card... would think a little more on this subject than BANNED!!! And if I do get another char (paid) and it gets caught, banned then I am the one who will suffer...
Guys/girls its a game... deal with it... If someone is not using a hack, cheat, or duping.. then to me it should be legal to do something in reguards to make you happy. Im sorry that most of you have done nothing wrong on any MMORPG game.. good for you.. One mistake and Im paying for it..
Im hoping that someone that wants to go to a third party site will see this thread and not do what I did.. (if he/she cant finacially handle it) If you can afford to take that risk Go for it!!!!! You people in these MMORPG games takes these game way too seriously. But like I said before, I dont have the time to re-roll.. so if I buy another char from someone who isnt going to play anymore... no sense just letting that char sit in the data banks forever doing nothing.. Might as well let someone enjoy it

If i'd steel a cd and got caught..i wouldn't say on a forum how i was misstreated.If i cheated on my wife and got caught..i wouldn't complain to my parents in law.No one in here says they are "pure" , they are merely stating out that what you did was against the rules and if you get caught you get punished.As simple as that.
Also something you might not know since you stated you also did not know it was against the "rules" to use pay-sites to help you out : allmost everyone in these forums see how many mmorpgs suffer from the buying/selling of powerlevels/gold etc.Many ingame markets have been blown up by either of these 2 means to get yourself a higher level/skill.

First off this isn't a blog its a web forum...and one heavily populated with gamers that fully believe you have to work for what you earn not pay someone else to do it, pay someone else for gold, etc etc. Which is why you no longer see banners for such sites on here anymore. Having your friends help you is one thing, but paying a third party is another.
Second there's no punishment / retribution for recording tapes off the radio or the television (though honestly who really wastes time with either of these methods anymore). Copying a vcr tape...well unless your stupid enough to tell someone that can do something about it or you start to sell those copies no one really cares infact if you own said vcr tape you have every right to copy it as backups (though honestly who uses a vcr anymore other than to record a tv show you miss while working or gaming). You can't even get busted for 'stealing' a pen, its not a crime to snag a pen.
As for cheating well...cheating is cheating and karma kicks your ass in the end and it kicked yours and I hope it keeps kicking it.
No one here is saying they're on moral high ground to you I'm sure most of us at some point has cheated we're just not dumb enough to call attention to ourselves or we learn from our mistakes and we don't repeat it (which you've stated your going too..how sad is that?).
You come here waste time to post about your legitiment banning and then wonder why you get flamed by a community that is very very outspoken about such things...honestly what sort of crack were you smoking?
