Suspension? you have been warned

in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

I recently got suspended and had no idea why

 

so i emailed Vgaccounts@sigilgames.com and there reply was you have recived 40 in game mail from a known duper and seller

with over 40 platinum  40 PLAT!! my god!? first off that would cost me over 5,000 us dollars second my account which my highest level is only level 18 has only had as much as maybe 55 silver no more seriously on top of that i have not gotten any mail from anybody other then RL friends of mine that play this game as well

As you can see im severly PISSED off  i sent an email back stating they have the wrong account and if this suspension isnt lifted i would cancel my account and would like a refund for my purchase of this game there are too many games out there to put up with BS like this especially when you have done nothing wrong

has this happened to anyone else ?

    While I dn't know the validity of your story I do know SOE has done some pretty silly things in the past. My EQ account was suspended for about two days once due to logging in from too many different IP addresses in a day. Well, playing on a laptop from hotel and airport hotspots will do that. While attempting to login from the third airport in 24 hours I got my notice. It took some time on the phone but they fixed it and gave me a free month of service.

    I would cancel my account right there on the spot, uninstall the game, open up my back window and throw the disks across the street.  Screw SOE and VG...that's what I would do IF I was in the right.  If you bought gold or any other crap you deserve what you get. Nuff said.

    40 plat? Not likely... 40 gold maybe. Frankly I don't put too much into complaints like this as it is completely one sided. If you are clean, good luck to you. If not, too bad. ;P

    I hate Vanguard like the others but I could not see how they could make a mistake like that; especially when they need to retain as many people as they can.

    My apologies if I'm wrong, but a little fairy is telling me there is more to this story than you lead on.

    Sigil needs them to be retained.  Who knows what SOE might be up to!

    This has happened ALOT altho not saying the amount you have be acused of, it's happened to alot of people for apparently being gold sellers/buyers/farmers etc etc. None of my guild play anymore anyways cause Vanguard is just a bad game.

    I don't know Dude.  Your post sounds suspicious to me.  I had a Sony account for many, many years since EQ1 and never had that problem.  I am not saying you are lying but I can vouch for Sony not making this a habit.  Plus, I can not imagine the Gold Sellers making that mistake either unless you have a friend that used your character's name for a transaction and was going to get the gold back from you.

    I just looked 20 VG Gold = $20.99 USD (go google.com!) I wont link the site because I don't want to be accused for spamming or advertising, so google "vanguard saga of heroes currency" (with out " ") and go to the 4th link.

    Ive never had a platinum peice myself (Ive never had more than 5g at any one time) but I beleive 100 gold  = 1 platinum. So going by roughly 1g = 1 USD then 40p would be about $4,000 - I cant even imagine what you would do with 40p in VG at this stage.

    Dude, the game costs money, so there's no way that anyone should throw their disks out the window! They make excellent coasters.

    This is hardly the first story like this I have heard of in the current witch hunts.

    Look at some of the other VG forums, and time after time there are innocent people getting reported and in many cases banned or suspended because of Sigils incompetence.

    Your right because it would be Sigil's fault not SOE.

    To the OP, just keep fightin!, you deserve every penny back! (if your telling the truth).

    I have heard stories like this a few times before however, with guilds and guild banks being banned for having too much money on one character. Friggin rediculous if you ask me, Sigil killing off what's left of their player base, makes you wonder if this is all just a joke and the real VG will come out when AoC and WAR are near release, to blow everyone away! (I can dream can't I?)

    why not supply a link to you char on the VG site?

    And maybe say what it is that they are ACTUALLY suspending you for (so copy of the email you 'allegedly' got from Sigil indicating you had been suspended?

    This way you will allay the suspicions of the people who think this has just been posted to put a negative spin on the game

    I see this as a win/win.

    If this guy is in the gold selling business and he got banned, booyah!

    But if he really is an innocent Vanguard player and Sigil screwed him, that's one more guy to spread the gospel that this game sucks.

    I just found out a RL friend we play VG with has had his account suspended after receiving gold which HE reported to customer service as receiving sent by a gold seller .   Now he can't play and he has no idea how long their 'investigation' will take.  They would not have even known about it if he hadn't reported it.  He hadn't even taken it out of his mailbox.   I do understand that they would want to investigate but he's paying for a suspended account in the meantime.    I suspect this will sour his VG experience enough so that he will cancel.

    Yeah these post sound rather fishy.

    If you're innocent, provide us a link to your VGPlayer character site.

    Gold sellers don't just go around sending people money. That's the most retarded thing I've ever heard. They are trying to sell it, not give it away.

    Also the OP says that he recieved money from a "known duper and seller" supposedly. First of all I've never heard of anyone being able to dupe in this game, so that makes his case suspect. Also they usually ban gold sellers as soon as they find out about them, so he must have recieved the gold before this person was known to be a goldseller, in which case they simply tracked the seller's ingame mails to the OP.

    Like I said, if you're innocent, they'll be able to clear it and you'd be able to provide a link to your VGPlayers account showing you don't have the 40g or whatever.

    Othwerise, if you're guilty and just trying to whine your way out of a banning, tough luck. Sigil's harsh stance on gold selling is much loved by the entire community, and one of the reasons that makes VG great.

    Thats why you don't play VG because its crap, And two it has $OE written all over it also. If you buy from anything with $OE in or on it then you deserve what comes to you, IMO.  Just look at the games they have ruined lawl.

    I still do not understand why gold selling is hated? Could someone please tell me why it is "bad" ? Not just the "its unfair", "selling is bad" and "its not RL" non-arguments.

    If the OP is telling the truth, than this is entirely Sigil's fault. It has nothing to do with SOE. I don't even play VG anymore and I think it was more or less a failure of what it set out to be, but even I am not ignorant to the fact that SOE does not run this game.

    Even if SOE was involved you think they would be handling the banning of gold farmers? When they didn't even develop the game?
