mxo is like the best game there is and no one knoes that because it isn't marketed. if they would advertise then like millions would play and say wow this is the best gaime there is ftw. marketing is EASY TO DO but sonyi won do it because they kno mxo will take away the playas from all ther other games. they don't want youu to know its the best game

    I was in the Closed Beta of MxO, and honestly I was horrible dissapointed, and decided back then not to continue and simply leave it. Haven't touched it since so dont know much about what it's become, except Ive seen not many play it, and know that SOE bought it, and since Im not exactly a "big" SOE fan, Im not really in any position of wanting to try it again.

    One of the worst mmorpgs i have ever played tbh   , and i am a huge fan of the mxo movies....

    definitely the worst western MMO i've ever played (if you could even call it that).  I remeber how I would walk down the street and all of a sudden realize I never moved.  The lag was horrible... seriously!  I dunno how anybody could say this game was any good.  I barely played it... and thats because I couldnt... and yes, My PC did meet the requirements.

    Stop whateva your doing and go buy MXO. You will thank me. But make a zion character, the rest willl soon be...burnt toast lol!

    So much has changed

    new combat system that is killer

    loads of new quests and storyline stuff, like about 2 years worth of stuff to do

    about 30,000 new items

    new areas

    Hm, I don't think anyone like this happens nowadays. At least not to me.



    I do experience bad performance and bucking sometimes(!), but rubberbanding, especially in this scale, seems to be gone for good.

    Sometimes, the performance is just beautifully fluid.

    jerkson- take no offense but your opinion does not matter since you only tryed it in closed beta. That is when the game is still in development, and there is still stuff that needs to be implemented.



    flakes- I wouldnt say the worst mmo. It may or may not be the best but not the worst.



    Now for my opinion. I tryed it a long time ago so it may be toatally different knowing SoE and how they handled SWG. I liked how you decided your skill tree and it was not predetermined for you in any way. It reminded me of SWG pre-NGE, not as many choices but still a level of skill customizing. Most MMO dont allow this as much. This is one of the reasons I am not a huge fan of WoW. You cant combine any two classes to make a custom class. WoW has the classes with three ablity trees, but there is usually about 5-6 cookie cutter way to set it up that are actually good to use in game. I would still continue to play this game but i have ran into some money problems and as it is not my favorite mmo I decided to cancel.

    I would have to agree with neolivesftw, if he wants to post this he can, he made a valid point that they do not advertise mxo(strangly the advertise SWG) SeanDavis if you dont like his post dont read them. Your the kind of ppl that make reading forums a pain. Forums are not ment for bashing ppl, they are ment for disscussion, rumors, and other whatnot. If you have a disagree please say so and say why. Otherwise you are a waste of ppl times (sorta like this post which i only hope you read SeanDavis)

    That point with the advertising... well, considering MxO isn't the best known game, some people think it would help if SOE would advertise the game. Of course, that would also cost money and time, as would investing in game development, staff or server performance.

    The sad fact is, MxO makes just enough profit to be a nice Station Pass bonus, and for SOE to keep it running. I don't see them investing in advertising or development.

    Also, to advertise a game, it would have to live up to advertisements, which I suppose it doesn't. There's still lots of stuff to fix.



    Now, imagine someone with the intention to mock MxO fanboys will do: take this idea and transform it to... well, read the OP.





    Honestly, I start looking at this guy with a sense of humor. If I wouldn't dislike him for past incidents, I might have ended up appreciating this as an entertaining satire. But whatever.

    Anyway - MXO rules and I think it IS the best game out there.  Especially how much pvp pwns.

    To your later post where you claim the added so many items and so many new areas. I played MxO for several months before laying it to rest. I did like the game for a moment but the meaningless grind and repetition really got to me after awhile. I don't think we can fairly say there has been a great deal of expansion to this game. This game launched worse than DDO, but at least games like DDO continue to try to develop themselves out of there mistakes. Don't get me wrong, the small team that runs MxO does try very hard, but the outcome may never erase the games fundamental flaws.

    Played (more than a month): SWG, Second Life, Tabula Rasa, Lineage 2, Everquest 2, EvE, MxO, Ryzom.

    Tried: WoW, Shadowbane, Anarchy Online, Everquest, WWII Online, Planetside

    Beta: Lotro, Tabula Rasa, WAR.

    Sadly i believe MxO is and forever will be a "cult" game. Those who do play it, love it.  Although the grind is long... its the combat that really keeps me coming back, with a small community rivals between the other organisations become a common thing and the combat is really like no other mmo out there.



    I also think that graphic wise, its up there with the best of them.



    Have been jacking in since european launch and havent looked back.

    Haha, this past month I re-subscribed to the SOE all access to try the games out again.  MxO was the same old boring mission running.  The missions are exactly the same.  The buildings are repetitive, the mission goals are repetitive.  I saw 3 or 4 people the entire time playing (got up to lvl 15).  Borrrringgggg.

    The events are back in a big way, there was a combat revamp, and with the new zones and missions and items...well I can go on and on but it's worth a new look.

    There might have been an event everyone was at. I'd suggest fiding a faction to level with, the people are great and it makes playing so much more fun.,
