The structure and the contents inside it aren't destroyed, they're simply packed into your datapad. If you then later decide to return to the game you'll just need to open your datapad and throw the house down in a new spot and it should look just like it did before it got packed up...just in a new location.
What happens if your datapad is full already? Or is about to be filled?
No, it's what paying players need to be able to plant their houses/cities.
If SOE cared about paying customers, most of these conversations wouldn't be taking place.
Yes because before NGE, no SWG player ever quit
This game had a sprawl problem when I played it before the NGE, all the planets were littered with abandon builds and structure junk. They should have made the rule if an account goes inactive for more then 30 days, the structure is removed. Almost any other MMO that has placeable housing does that. Instead you have garbage from players who quit years ago taking up space that paying players could use...yes even before NGE.

Anything that the system wants to put in your datapad or inventory that you have no control over will ignore any limits This is why if you have a full inventory and finish a quest that gives you a reward, the reward will still be put in your inventory and it'll show 81/80 or whatever.
A good idea for once from SOE. They should have done this a long time ago to be honest and I think its a nice touch to get the players involved by rewarding them for identifying abandoned structures. Will be something different for you guys to do for a few weeks at least. Myself I put most everything I owned on my ships or in the bank anyway.
Yes because before NGE, no SWG player ever quit
Because SOE took such good care of the customer before the NGE.... Cause and effect..
It was sarcasm bro,
SOE NEVER took care of the customer very well and that includes before the NGE. The game had a disastrous launch, and crappy reviews. The community was always a riot of "fix this and that" and "they never listen". The game always had major issues. On top of it the populations were in decline long before NGE.

Or maybe you should realize it's a game with a virtual world and those items have no more value than my fart i just let go.
The fact is most of the people on here complaining about the purge. Do not play the game anymore and have no intentions of ever coming back. So with that being the case how can those items be so treasured.
Seriously it's time to move on. Hell half the people griping have stated that SOE would have to pay them to come back to the game. Even if they reverted it back to Pre-Cu. See they have let there hatred for SOE get so out of hand that nothing will ever bring them back.
So the only real reason they are griping is b/c it will taking away one of the ways they are "getting back at SOE".
For the last time people, NO ONE IS GOING TO LOSE ANY ITEMS! THE HOUSES ARE SIMPLY GOING TO BE PUT INTO YOUR DATAPAD. I am a summer of 03 vet and hate the NGE but c'mon, read a little and get your facts straight before you post.

Well they should have kept it...more on the unfocused redevelopement of SWG. No thanks, I'm not looking anything up for this game as there are more versions of it then the Warcraft licence and frankly its a waste of time to dig around for versions of a game that doesn't exsist.
I wish them luck and I hope the current players are enjoying it because thats what its all about.

I still liked my idea of and "Imperial House Removal Tool" better
/shrug Ah well.
And no, for the angry, fist shaking never-to-log-on-SOE-again-ever folks that suddenly find the idea of loosing a house they supposedly never logged on to or don't care about anymore secure by frantically logging on to dump credits in their house.....don't worrry, it just puts it in your pack. All those rare items you don't care about */snicker* because of what SOE did will still be there the next time you "don't log on" log on.

Thats because they are hoping, even after nearly 2 years, SOE is gonna change their minds and switch everthing back and after all the venom they spit over the last few years they would all go crawling back, probably praising SOE for their wise choice. Thats what all this drama is really all about.
But we talked at length about this SWG topic, you know how I feel. SWG is the only form of the game that currently exsist just as the current version of any other game is the only version to exsist. Cry about yesterday but that will not bring it back. It is what it is today, like or forget about it and find something else.
This "Cult of the Martyred Video Game" is just silly.
Yes, my city will shrink significantly and it will lose many city perks (e.g. shuttle).
Yes, planets will look more deserted. However, passing all those abandoned houses that make rebuilding a city impossible is much more depressing than zipping over some free landscape.
but
Yes, it will allow a fresh start ... new communities will form in places that are good places to meet (which was the reason that cities were build there in the first place). There may be less cities than before, but those will be more active.
Yes, some people will come back. And see that SWG has improved a bit in the last months. It is not the worlds best MMORPG and wont ever be after what SOE did to SWG, but its still a fun game.
lol I here you my house is safe but I would love to loot old school players houses and get the realy old loot pre CU loot
Yeah, in one house I had the emperors sword from the theme park, a full set of tusken armor, ST armor, A couple Nym's slug throwers, some of the stealth clothes, Some of the rare paintings! A lot of this stuff was pre-Cu stuff too! Some holos, rugs , glass top tables, and odl stim packs!
Nice stuff, to bad it's all crap now and worth not a credit, but hey, in your day, a bantha was worth something too!
But hey I won't be a nasty guy like some I know in game right now, they are waiting for the day of demolish and hope an old vet player shows up just as they are ready to demolish their house, with the player begging for stopping, they will laugh and say,
"hey buddy, thnx for the unique painting!"
love Renner, Corbantis.

As an ex player who will never go back... nice, they needed to do a purge of ex players houses.
