Companies that permaban did it for a serious violation and won't let you re-sub unless you file a greavence and beg for forgivness. Even in SWG, because if this was the case, my friend's account wouldn't be banned and he wouldn't have to had started a new one. You might have had a suspension, but I think your just bosting your post. Why I have no idea, swg is were it is, people play it now like it or not. People play other games like it or not. I had made a rather unkind post on the forums directed at Garva. When I tried to log in to the game, later that day, I got a message saying I was banned. I then contacted a CSR who told me I was permentantly banned.
Then a month later I got an email from them saying my ban was lifted "after careful review" and would I like to check out the changes to SWG with a great new free vet trial.
Believe it or not I really dont care. Its no skin off my back. SOE does this crap all the time.
Oh and remember the "fight club" incident? Alot of permabans there. But many came back in the following months. I know of one player who was permabanned for duping power crystals but I saw he was back.
The fact that I and others have gotten over 9 months of free play time in an 18 month period says it all. If I was a current paying player I would be pissed no end. There they are paying every month while vets are getting free time like mad. All in hopes the vets will come back. Guess what SOE? They aint came back yet so its safe to say no matter how many free trials you offer they aint coming back.

I like how he was drooling over the idea of more hybrids, seeing how pre CU swg had no classes and players were allowed to customize their characters to any type of hybrid they so desired.
unfortunately SWG is no pheonix rising from its own ashes. It is simply a beaten down, neutered dog that refuses to die because of its obscene and cruel owners.
If anything, the SWG-Emu is something of a pheonix to those of us who loved what that dog once was..

In my personal opinion, i think SOE should straighten up, set the team for SWG to neutral for the time being to focus on fixes and such,,, and set up a company with Lucas to produce SWG2.. give it a second shot and show those of us who despise SOE that they can turn themselves around and try to appeal to the community.

News flash!! No one played CH in the old system.. Out of a 70 person guild 1 player was CH/TKM/Medic...... Smed was right, it was the least played class in game.. It was one thing he didn't lie about .. And all the NGE fanboys are so starving for content they will take what ever they have thrown at them.. The story teller sounds retarded too.. What a huge waste of time they are putting into SWG trying to bring old things back when all they had to do was fix the older systems a bit, I don't even care which one they worked with either or was 100x better than the NGE is even to date, and yes I played it a few weeks ago for the first time since early 2006, and yes it still sucks really bad and the population is dead on all servers from a pre cu vets point of view..

The servers are deserted, I know this for a fact, I was strolling around several of them last month. I think I saw all of 7 people on Starsider in about 4 hours of play.
It is just a matter of time before Sony pulls the plug on the servers.

How can one desert something that didn't exist anymore. Anyone who left because the dumbed down version of SWG was coming out isn't a deserter. They were just people depressed by the end of a truly wonderful game. Those that stayed enjoyed KOTOR and KOTORII so much they needed their online version.
That being said, everyone needs to make their own decision. Try the 14 day free trial if you want. The SWG now is nothing compared to it's original form and the "elders" still in the game are nothing more than the children to stayed to play with the remote control car that goes forward and backs-up to the right. After the full function remote was removed.

Well don't get too attached b/c the other "big" reason only you and your jr.high friends are interested in SWG is because you didn't spend 1 to 2 to even 3 years levelling, building an empire, making friends, etc only to have Sony wake up one day and say "let's F&$% them all and change everything."

I've been SWG going on 3 years now. Still fun, still like it.
About the NGE though, I think SOE is trying to make a "Star Wars Galaxies Classic" like you know, what Coke did. They had a great game, changed the recipe that attracted all the players and are changing it back, with a twist.
It doesn't matter to me though. I'm loyal to SWG through and through. Do what they want to it, I'll (Most likely) still be there.
