There has never been another time better than now. I have to say, that I am having more fun now than ever. All we are missing is a few more players. So come on back...I think you will like what you see.
Do the free trial...what have ya got to loose? This week alone I have seen my Old friends list light up! I am seeing people I have not seen since 2004. We have been having a blast. It really is like old times again. ELDER tags are everywhere!
If you do come back, be patient. It does take time to learn ( not long ). There are many people willing to help, so don't be afraid to ask. I think that with the exception of commando, all the professions a balanced and my Spy PWNZ commandos anyway....so it does not bother me.
So, come on back! Chapter 6 is going to rock!!!!!!.....to all you former (CH) Creature Handlers, I can tell you that you are going to love what they have done with your old profession. Go ahead and sign up for the free trial...make a toon on (TC) Test Center and give BM Beast Master a try!!!! I don't think you will be disapointed.
BTW....I hear TKM, Swordsman, and Pikeman!!!...as a MELEE MASTER (just a rumor ATM)

oooo sounds like I might give another go. I actually liked all 3 versions (regular, cu, nge)
I stopped playing a couple of months ago because I was leveling an engineer and for some reason at one point were I was able to be able to make my first droid, when I leveled, all my xp went away. I dinged and noises were made and stuff, but I didn't actually level. I tried to resolve it with a CSR but it didn't work out so I just cancelled. I had major fun before that though.
Since I am planning on retrying vanguard I might just go buy a all access pass (they have those at the store right). I don't want to do it online for some reason.

I wonder how long we'll keep seeing "This time!" shit...
does combat change from point and click to somethink usefull? do we have our 32 profs back ?
are there different types of XP possible other then combat xp ? Is Jedi hard to obtain ? is Jedi Ranking back in place ? do they get rid of classes and levels ? is visible combat que in place ? and ...and ...endless list and the most imporatnt question , is another company in charge for to maintain game and servers other then $OE ?
btw rating went down to 6.1 , it gets worser and worser .....

Honestly, who gives a flying **** what was in the past. It's the PAST! Get over it and move on with your life instead of stalking the forums and posting what everyone else does.

I loved the old game more than anyone. But, Can you tell me of ANY MMORPG that does all the things you speak of? Can you tell us of any MMORPG that does all these things, that is currently in development? That fact is the trend is going FAR FAR away from games like Pre-CU SWG. IF YOU KNOW OF ANYTHING LIKE THE OLD GAME.....PLEASE TELL!!!! We all want to know. I'm not being a smartass...I just haven't found anything close yet.
I have been serching and searching and I have yet to find anything remotley close to all the things you speak of. I will say this, the Current SWG is not the NGE we all know and hate. The fact is it is much much better than it was a year and a half ago.
Right now...we are in the DARK AGES of MMORPGs....everything is the same old quest driven FANTASY bullshit. If you look to the future you will not find anything close to what SWG was in current development. Right now SWG is it! You simply are not going to find the complexsity and sandbox feel in any other game. If you have not been back...GO and see for yourself.
Dont even try to say EVE cause I have played it and it is one of the worse MMORPGs I have ever played.

Yep have to agree about current MMO Situation, thats why i really miss PRE CU.If they was i really good replacement i wouldn't care about NGE. Found a temporaly home with Ryzom, some aspects are there (large scale faction combat is even better then PRE CU faction combat, NPC - MOB AI is better) but i feel like its only temporally replacement till i get PRE CU in any shape back or STO will be a really good game.

Well let us know if you find anything I am hoping FireFly (Raph Kopster), Warhammer 40k, or World of Darkness will fit the bill. I say this because they are still very early in development and they are not sure what they want to do.
BTW....STO is bombing....PE does not have the funding or know how to get the job done...They continue to DUMB IT DOWN almost on a monthy basis now. I was looking forward to this one aswell. It looks like we wait.

Yes they have made some changes but the major change they should of done they never did and that was to roll back. Combat in this new SWG TOTALLY SUCKS! I could go on but why, just a waste of time. Besides we all heard and know what the problems are so no need to keep repeating it.
If you like it enjoy it but for some to keep spreading rumors that this game is getting better is just insane

The game is great, pre-CU and post. The NGE isn't as bad as nearly everyone seems to portray it as. Yes, it sucked, lots, and lots, of balls back when they first did the update, however, it has gone major changes that have been beneficial. There is one (and yes, only one) problem that I have with the gameplay, and that is the major grindfest it is to get to level 90. Yeah, sure, the Kashyyyk and Mustafar quests help a lot, but only so far. The "expertise" system (which is really a talent system only you get points every few levels) is a great feature, mainly because it made PvP much, much more fun.
To all of you incessant nay-sayers, if you're really that upbeat about having a game changed to something (and I say this at risk) better than it was before, go organize your posse and picket outside various SOE offices. Personally, I think you're just too lazy to participate in the combat instead of spamming various abilities. The loss of the incredible class tree system is yes, a sad one, but it was for the better. They most likely have intentions of changing the classes around to more fit the old system. You also have to realize that by knocking down all of the classes to only a handful, they also combined certain classes.
And so, yeah, that's my rant.
I hope to see more of you guys in-game!
