Well, the magic 8 ball of common sense says....

    MONEY!

So that Mythic can continue paying the electric bill, dev's salaries, and so on. Which affords Mythic the time to go back, and go over the first two areas and give them a second pass, using all the tricks and so forth that they've learned along the way, now that they're more used to the tool set they're using, and so on.

Just takin' a wild stab in the dark, there.

It's quite possible that given EA's financial support, Mythic now have the funding to go back and soup up the areas designed prior to the EA/Mythic teamup. Could be as simple as that, but nooo lets start a conspiracy theory!

thats exatly what my post was about, and if I thought it was worth the time all EA transactions are public, since they are a publicly traded company.

What im wondering is what resources did EA give to improve the graphics and animations so much, new worksations, servers, maybe some EA animators.Im not bashing EA ,rather the opposite.

Well do me a favor, find out how much EA paid Mythic to become EA Mythic, I honestly don't recall seeing what the price tag was. What other payouts were made to the people who owned Mythic was, How long is Mr. Jacobs contracted to stay working for EA Mythic.

This thread is my opinion based on my personal observation. I dont care what you beleive or dont belive.Im not wasting hours digging through the quarterly reports of a company with more market cap than Ford. I don't post links,im not a secratary.Anyways this is a moot point ,even worrying over a product which might not even be out till q4 08'.This will is the last of me on the WAR forums, its just a waste of time.

Then you should go back and delete your posts.

    Myth = Anet
    EA = Ncsoft

    That is all.

This is an opinion, based soley on my observations.

    To the OP.

Maybe the improvements you are seeing is because...gasp... the game is farther along!?!?!?

Seriously, Mythic has went above and beyond EA's expectations most likely, otherwise why would EA buy them out?

I guess I'll play "secretary" and post a link.

This is an interesting article on Warhammer Online.  It's an interview with Mark Jacobs.

I guess the info is only valid if you believe what Mr.Jacobs says.

I've followed Mr.Jacobs and Mythic for a long time and my impression of him is he is always straight up.  I've never seen him BS the players on the truth.

Hopefully, that will illuminate some of this.

    Have a nice day.

So is reading the threads you started here so far. Can't say I'll miss you.

But probably it just means you will go back to posting threads about WAR on the AoC Forums hoping to gain more support for your loony ideas.

I hope you find a place where people appreciate these kinds of threads, but don't forget to bring your tinfoil hat. I get the feeling that you might need it there.

    Anyways, farewell

Translation: I done got schooled by reality. I will now storm off in a huff, never to speak to you all again. Until later this afternoon, when I post again.

P.S. It took me less than 1 minute to find the info on GW's finances.

uh? GW is not a company based solely on IP licensing? who the heck gave you such an idea, or did I miss something?

They produce games, books, miniatures, hobby materials and the usual fare. their licensing revenue is minimal at best because beside the known videogames (dawn of war) they have nothing licensed at the moment.

And for your information, the size of a company is calculated on the gross revenue, NOT on profit.

EA's not made drastic changes to Mythic or Mythic would of never allowed the sale.    The game is pushed back what 3 or 4 months maybe less and everyone is acting like impatient four year olds.
EA didn't ruin UO, Origins made alot of bad changes that hurt the game before EA even bought them (i've played off and on since launch so DO have an idea of what i'm talking about).   Considering the game still has active players and servers its obviously not destroyed its just lost old skool I hate anything that changes folks & pvp griefers.  A destroyed game would be Horizons.
No drastic changes? Mythic is already being split up.

In the grab bag before the take over, Sanya said no one would be fired, and no one would be moved to other teams.

Recently in other grab bags and press releases its been stated by her that mythic devs have been moved to UO and Sims online and are now running both of the community websites.

    Pretty big contradiction there imo.

As for EA's track record, EA was the first to close down a Mainstream retailed MMO, to date they have shut down two (Earth and Beyond and Motorcity online). EA cares about the cash... and thats it.

Take a look at this article

    http://www.escapistmagazine.com/issue/45/3

Article gives a pretty good break down of how EA took the hatchet to UO and Origin.

Take a look at this article

    http://news.com.com/Electronic+Arts+faces+overtime+lawsuit/2100-1043_3-5450316.html

Gives a brief look into EA's employee abuse, there are hundreds of articles out there... just google EA lawsuit.

Im not saying WAR will be bad. I'm just saying that EA has a rather bad track record, only topped by SoE in the treatment of their customers and employee's.

EA has also YET to have a successful MMO, and very few of their products that are successful are in house... and most of the ones they buy go downhill quick.

Ultima Series and the CnC series are just to name a few.

Do people over react to EA? Yeah we do... but just cause you think someone is out to get you doesnt mean they arent. Before you tell those warning you about EA to shut up and put on the tin foil hat, take a look at some of the history.

But remember absolutely everything needs to be approved by Games Workshop. If whatever changes they are making has GW's blessing it is only good news for the players.
Just look how often WoW had its launch delayed and look where they are now -  then look at what happened to Vanguard when Sony pushed it out the door.
I want EAMythic to release when it's ready - not a minute sooner.
Got to agree with this post 100%

Its games Workshop that have the last say in anything to do with their IP

It's natural that you will see great improvements between several months in any game if it is in the alpha stage.  If you didn't see improvement then it would be a reason for concern.

But the idea that EA was behind the changes does not match with Mythic's statement that they have several similar 're-vamps' planned in their new schedule.

Wait a few months and they will be re-doing the graphics again and the Dwarf/Greenskin AND the Empire/Chaos zones with the improvements they develop as the game progresses.

This will all be done long after the point that EA bought Mythic, so they will not the be the result of EA being displeased with the graphics, it will be part of the overall design plan.
