No they said their next mmorpg wont be like WOW and will be innovative and there will be a new Starcraft game. They went to Korea to announce a new game and i think it'll obviously be :
Starcraft 2 - Why would they go to Korea to announce anything else?

I think this is great news for those of us who love SCI-FI and hate Fantasy.
It will be interesting to see if they can eat the cake and have it too. Starcraft the RTS was a huge success. They might want to keep the RTS player base. And wouldn't just remaking WoW with a Starcraft setting steal players from WoW?
They are announcing two new games as from what I have heard. One will be a new "normal" game. Second one will be a new mmorpg. I might be wrong but thats what I have heard.
I heard the same...not sure what normal means...console?

Means singleplayer. Also, people are only speculating about the mmorpg being based on starcraft thus I wouldn't hold my breath on it, although it would certainly be interesting.
I'm excited to see what Blizzard come up with. What I would love to see is a MMO that's more complex and has a steeper learning curve than WoW, but is still as polished and well-balanced as WoW. We'll just have to wait and see what they're planning.
Well i just found this info for you guys - Taken from Kotaku
According to CVG, Blizzard will reveal a World StarCraft-style massively multiplayer online title in Korea next month at the Blizzard World Invitational. While many fans of the original StarCraft were probably expecting a proper real-time strategy game to be unveiled, if CVG's "well placed US sources" are to be believed, they're out of luck.
Blizzard previously confirmed that they are indeed announcing a new product in Korea this month and listed open positions for work on an "next-gen MMO."
With the announcement exactly two weeks away from today, we won't have long to wait to see if dreams of an RTS sequel to StarCraft have been dashed. The only thing keeping the fanboy tears from shooting out of my ducts with the force of a hydrant is the delusional hope that Blizzard will be announcing two products next month, one being an RTS. See, I'm not an MMO kind of guy.

The long-rumoured new instalment of Blizzard's massive StarCraft series is set to be unveiled later this month - and it's another massively-multiplayer online game in the style of World of Warcraft, CVG can reveal.
Well placed US sources have revealed to us that the StarCraft MMO will be unveiled at an upcoming Blizzard event on May 19 in South Korea - the epicentre of the sci-fi RTS series' rabid fandom.
"Recently, Vivendi gave a presentation to Wall Street. A lot of things were mentioned, but this announcement was a standout: "All Blizzard franchises will become MMOGs." And when they said all, they meant ALL! Along with the bold announcement, they also claim that they now have a model to come up with MMOGs in 3 years, and that they are also backed up by a $50 Million budget.
They would be presenting two types of MMOG markets aimed for everyone from the busy executive to the hardcore gamers. The first is the long session games (more than two hours per session) and short session games (less than two hour sessions.) They will also be rolling out a bunch of short session games under the Sierra Online brand. An example is FreeStyle, a pick-up basketball online game scheduled for 2007 release. No details on pricing model for the short session games were announced though.
The "more games and less gamers per game" scenario is something that seems to not be a threat to the company, well if stockbrokers knew more about gaming, then maybe they would have booed the idea right at that moment (ha, ha)!
Blizzard quickly denied the rumors by saying "that rumor is not true in regard to Blizzard...We (Blizzard) believe that the rumor circulating about this subject is based on a misinterpretation of information provided to industry analysts." They also denied that they are developing any MMOGs as of the moment by saying loud and clear that they " do not currently have any MMO development plans beyond the upcoming expansion for World of Warcraft, and furthermore, we don't have any intentions to focus on only one genre or platform with our future games." Nice move indeed!"
But the current announcement does seem to indicate that they will be announcing a new game in Korea. Whether it is rts or mmopg or Starcraft or not will be seen on May 19th. I live in Korea and I can tell you they are rabid Starcraft fanatics. They have had a television channel devoted to it. All it shows is Starcraft games on it being played by professional players. So if I were a bettting man I would say it is indeed something Starcraft.
I've been dreaming of this since Starcraft Ghost became vaporware. I'm not going to get too excited since this is all really speculation, but if the rumors are true I'm forgetting WAR and going 100% for starcraft. The story is so strong and original that I think a fantastic universe could be created. I'm just worried that if it does go MMO it'll become really tame with zerglings and marines strolling along together in "non-pvp" lands.. that would kill me.
So many players have been asking for a sequel that I can't imagine at least one of the games to be announced won't be Starcraft.
My fanboy hysteria aside.. I hope it isn't true but I bet they introduce StarCraft II RTS and Diablo MMO. You might say that diablo would overlap with WOW too much but the themes are vastly different between the two stories and Diablo is a lot lot darker and more adult than warcraft so I don't think it'd be too much of a stretch. I hope my pessimistic views are wrong.
It will be interesting to see if they can eat the cake and have it too.
Starcraft the RTS was a huge success. They might want to keep the RTS player base.
And wouldn't just remaking WoW with a Starcraft setting steal players from WoW?
A slightly deeper game might be a good bet for them. Starcraft is much darker and (IMO) more complex than Warcraft, and making a second MMO that is slightly more complex would be perfect. They just introduced probably around 5+ million new people to the genre, and now that they are no longer complete newbs many of them might be looking for something a little deeper. Pair that with a huge fan base (and as much as many RTS fans would groan at it, I love starcraft and I would love to see an MMO, and I think there are many many more just like me) and you have yet another winner.
That leaves enough time for WoW to grow old and when they release Diablo, they can make it complex or not, whatever they want.
I highly doubt another MMORPG title being released shortly after the Expansion Burning Crusade, It just doesn't seem market "intelligent" per say.
I would think RTS, though I could be wrong
Just don't be surprised if they suddenly mindscrew us all and revive the Ghost Project. If they did, I would probably break all my Blizzard games in half

This whole hype is about another Blizzard MMO being 'announced' rather than 'released', isn't it?
That being the case it will be a while before a retail version hits the shelves.
