Bottom line Alex, is: Just because the man admits he is biased does not implicitly make his news corporations biased or for that matter invalidate them as a source of news. Most of the channels on both sides of the spectrum do present some decent news interspersed with hours of mind boggling opinion based on that real news. We all know that Fox is slanted, but it is proven by the channel's own programing, not by the obscure admission of it's owner to being personally biased.
The point is that I am not trying to use Argumentem ad Logicam, merely pointing out what I said above.
I don't really care about those false arguments. Clearly you haven't watched the video or you're using selective hearing. The man said "we" like a billion times throughout his answers about how he was trying to to shape the opinions of a America...."we" implies his media and him. He has an agenda and trying to shape people's opinion around his agenda and he is pushing it through his news. If you can't understand that then you're very niave, and ignoring the video.
edit:... and this is for draenor: The above does not mean nor imply other news sources aren't biased.
Just like you ignore him saying "Obviously if you are in media and concerned about what is going on in the world, you'd like to make a difference by puting forward your opinions." [emphasis added] You are becoming a pro at the fallicious argument though. But I guess you feel compelled by my Tu Quoque.

I didn't ignore that and it only emphasizes my initial post.
Btw: If you want to talk about false arguments, you might want to address all the people who immediately started bitching at me for not talking about MSNBC and other liberal medias, and therefore somehow justifying their argument - whatever that may be.

I came in the discussion too late to get on everyone for the same thing. There are a ton of fallicious arguments. It is quite hard to resist using them at times, and if I tried to single everyone out, it would get old. I merely post it in hopes that some people read the links and possibly explore the site those links about logic and fallacy are on, and maybe, just maybe, some of it will get curbed. You are not as bad as several here, Alex, but this one stuck out as "classic" IMO.
As far as my opinion: I still feel that his "admission" is nothing significant. News can be news regardless of the opinion surrounding it. I find some of the most opinionated "news" to be the most fun to watch, not necessarily because I agree with it either. My wife doesn't like when I argue with the TV though.

People hate Fox, not because it's the only news source that is biased, but because it's the only news source that is biased towards conservative views, rather than liberal ones. If Fox news had a strong liberal bias, you wouldn't hear a damn word about how far left leaning it is, at least no more than you hear about MSNBC and CNN.
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

Alright I understand what you're saying. You can certainly get news from Fox like "12 dead in Iraq today from IEDs and suicide bombers....Bush vetoed such and such...." . Unfortunately they do have ways of getting their opinion out in a way that looks like news.
I'm gonna get blasted for linking this because it focuses on Fox and not other news sources that most likely are using this same exact technique:
Question mark technique - This one talks about CNN and Fox and how they use the question mark to say things...but not technically say things. CNN uses it for scare tactics and Fox uses it to generally say more specific things.
I know Fox is focused on a lot. I know liberals and their news are hypocrits. Liberal news reporting leads one to the conclusion that something must be done and the government is the only one that can do something about it....the same government that they bitch about because it's not something to be trusted (Somehow getting a Democrat in office makes the government trustworthy....or something...I don't get it). They want the same government that they bitch about to be the government that takes care of everything for them cradle to grave.
At least when I bitch about the government, I want them to be smaller and out of my life.

I've got to jump in here and give AlexAmore a pat on the back. You answer most questions/points made and concede fallacies in your own text. Anyone refuting him: Look at the pro-neocon topics written by outfctrl or anyone else for that matter and see how deep they get into their topic and you'll see a drastic gap compared to this self-proclaimed libertarian writing an anti-neocon post. You should be grateful for this guy taking his time to answer your oftentimes ludicrously polarized comments.
And from an European perspective, FOX News is incredibly sentimental and biased for being a news channel. It eats the icing off the biased cake. NBC is becoming increasingly biased (not saying it wasn't biased before, just that it has been polarised more by a counter-agent) and pushing out more biased material because it wants a slice of the drone audience that FOX News has a monopoly on. Olbermann is a counter-phenomenom to O'Reilly. However, I have yet to hear the fact-checking on Olbermann come up with anything fruitful, nor have I heard him change his opinions or comments and say he always thought that way(which is what O'Reilly does, he refutes truth on videotape and pushes it aside).
I follow this stuff from a distance with increased alarm. Mainstream media is where most people get their information from. And when the information is not fact anymore, people will come out with twisted perceptions of the world. The news in my country is changing towards entertainment as well... And I don't like it one bit. I'm afraid soon our national broadcasting station (inclined to tell the truth and policed to do so) will be privatized and that's when the shit will start hitting the fan.
Damn those liberals have too much spare time when they can nitpick all these segments from FOX News constantly. I bet there's just as much, if not MORE, false info on all other networks as well, and it's all anti-conservative or anti neoconservative and pro-socialist/hippy/liberal. Because anything other than me is a hippy liberal pansy man.
