Sounds bad, damn bad. I'm whole heartily glad I'm not part of this "community". If it holds any truth, many should reconsider their "passion" or whatever you would call that. Obviously the so-called Vanbois received what they asked for but not having the slightest of clue. Shame, really.

Tnice, that post will give me nightmares. That is one of the scariest things I've read in a longtime.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"

Anyone that takes my post serious  should scratch himself behind his ears.

But exactly posts like this make the game and the companies behind it look even worse. It aint that bad and Vanguard still has the potential.

I myself still enjoy my hours i spend in Vanguard, and i seriously hope that they can make things stable soon, and add the missing content

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

I bet these coders put in some bugs to asure the game would fail, so SOE could take over easilly. If SOE takes over they'll remove the bugs. Combined with the bad marketing for the game by SOE this would make sense.

Just a wild guess but it could be soooooo true

$oE >>> Burninating their playerbases for cold hard cash!

I think the theory goes beyond what you are getting at here.  It was a SoE and Brad scam.  First, Brad works for sony and then says,"Hey Im going to start my own company."  Sony said,"That's great Brad but we aren't paying for it."  Smed said,"Go hit up Microsoft and lure them along for as long as you can."

We all know MS has a lot more money than SoE so that was a good move.  The incredible part was when Smed and Brad agreed that Brad was to only make crap stuff exceeding deadlines.  They knew that MS would say "F* this" and sell out for pennies on the dollar.  I mean we all know what they did to AC2.  Vangaurd was AC3.

So when MS dropped Vanguard Sony came in to pick up the tab.  An insider to the game industry, at my local EBX, said to me that the plans for Sony to pick up Vanguard was always the case.  He said that the playerbase was vehemently against SoE running the show.  However, they still wanted to sell them boxes.  So Brad, all on his own,  worked hard to sell the game boxes to the SoE hating Vanguards community.   This is why the game isn't really what he said it was.  Brad wanted the initial box sales to pay of his car.  He knew there wasn't much of a game to play but nobody knew any different until it was too late.

Since Brad knew the game he was touting was not what came with the collector's edition, he knew that the 10 buddy keys would not be passed out.  He never really planned on the game doing much past release.  That's why he quit coming into the office 6 months ago.  The game was finished and ready to be sold to SoE.  His job was done.

This plan would have worked too if it weren't for you confounded kids!
