SOE taking over vanguard is such a good thing! come on people get excited

Sigil was doing jack squat for the game. SOE improved EQ2 ALOT EQ2 was never playable, the preformanced sucked big time. Now look at the game, in the mmorpg.com review it says EQ2 has become one of the best mmorpgs out there. SMED realizes now he screwed up with NGE. It all looks good from here
This time i have faith in SOE and i was hoping they would finnally take over.

Yep, they did turn EQ2 into a great game. So why would they turn Vanguard into a great game to compete with their flagship game??
They are so blind with hatred they will not give it a chance to be a good game.God forbid you should actually want this game to be good so we can all have more choices that are NOT WoW.
Dont ever think you will have an intelligent logical conversation with someone so blinded by hate.They want a "classic SWG" server but continually insult SOE.They want to beleive that EQ2 is a horrible game when in fact it is not,it is 1 of the better offerings out there to play.
The haters hijack every thread on this site that has to do with SOE to a point that is just ridiculous.Id be willing to bet that some of these haters actually play a SOE game just so they can justify complaining about SOE.Even if SOE turns it around they will find a way to make sure that everyone knows that they still hate SOE.
They want VG to fail.Nothing less will do.

Um... it was their friggin game to start with and it sucked for how long? And to be blunt, I'd say yes you're wrong. It's now a playable game, but I lost any desire to play it back when it was still a mess (I have tried it again recently and am far from impressed).
I have nothing against SOE. I don't see them as the devil, but I also don't see they've done anything noteworthy. This whole argument "They turned EQ2 into a great game" just makes me laugh... how many games have they turned into (or let slip into) crap?
All I see happening out of this is that a bad game that should have been allowed to die will now go on life support for half a dozen years while SOE comes in every so often, paints the zombies nails ans says "Isn't it lovely now?" to the fan base. Don't believe me? Ask the players of SWG, Matrix, Planetside, EQ for the Mac (say what you want about the Mac, WoW works very well on it), probably more I could name if I still played any SOE games.
BUT if you don't get your hopes too high, you probably won't be disappointed.

NGE was years ago, SoE has a rotten reputation granted, but c'mon, Vanguard is bleeding bad, I think they can only make it better. That bastard Smed may have learned his lesson, we'll see. Smart gamers will hold off subbing to Vanguard until we see if he has.
Won't matter anyway, by the time SoE does their thing, AoC and War will be out, at which time Vanguard will be a footnote in MMORPG's past anyway.

And how many millions of subscribers does EQ2 have? People point to EQ2 as proof that SOE knows what it's doing when all they did was finish the game. Nothing more than that.
The only reason they bought Vanguard is to keep the few people still playing it from going to WoW. They certainly didn't do it because they want to make an amazing game out of the mess that Brad made.
I hate to burst your bubble but SOE will only put in limited resources after this initial fix period to get the game to a real production standard. Due to the low number of Subscribers they will not allocate a lot of people to work on VG. The people they keep from Sigil will go to work on more successful products.
While anything will be better than Sigil, VG has no future other than a 3rd rate MMO with a couple of servers. VG will make The Matrix Online look like a success.
How can they justify spending money on VG when the return will be so low? VG has no future and no hope. Just be glad they don't just turn off the servers.
Well I play VG, because I see the games potenial ,and hard work its employees put in this game. I have played it since launch and all I can say is , It is a great game and nothing can compare to the fun I have had playing it. This is a great game! Every game has its bugs, and needs for improvement. People need to give this game a chance. I believe its one of the best.

The same people bashing SOE for SWG are the same people begging for a 'classic' SWG server. If SOE relented and made a classic preCU server, does that mean that all of a sudden all the hate and bashing go away? Does it mean that SOE is any less evil. Seems to me these haters are like little kids throwing a temper tantrum for not getting their way. We look upon these games as entertainment but for SOE, Blizzard etc. it's a business. Everything they do is motivated by money. Anybody who thinks otherwise is a fool. Why shouldn't it be that way? It IS possible to make money and treat your customers as decent human beings at the same time you know. Thats like saying the purpose of driving is to get from Point A to Pont B, so I'm going to tailgate, cut off other cars and lean on the horn the entire way. This is the kind of thinking that leads to sneaker sweatshops in Asia, woohoo its just business and we're not breaking any (local) laws, lets have our 12 year olds work 12 hour shifts for crap pay! That being said I agree with your other point, anything SOE gives will probably be better than whatever Sigil could at this point. The only reason they'd sell would be if they didn't have the resources to keep on going, how can they fix the game if the electric company is cutting their power heh.
I don''t really know when Humankind will die out but i''m guessing about 6 years before WOW.

SWG at start had a certain difficulty (to a certain point) where you wantedt o become a jedi, once you were a jedi you were fighting for your jedi life, but then they made it all easier by making things pre-selected and easier to survive overall. Its SOE lack of customer service and bad choices that really gives them a bad name their not really developers for the games themselves just publishers.And i agree about them just doing this for money, but we'd all love to see things go back to getting quality for each of your hard earned (or easily given) $$$
