    It's a marketer's wetdream.

Let it go, it's just a pipe dream.

The next Blizzard announcement will be Lost Vikings 3 and no, it won't be a MMO.

There has never been a time in the history of Blizzard Entertainment that they have worked on only a single game. Always two, at least. They have been hiring for both RTS and MMO developers and announced their interest in creating a next-gen MMO in a completely different style then World of Warcraft...

Starcraft 2, an RTS, has been announced... And there was much rejoicing. It's been in development since 2003.

Their MMO is in the works. I promise you this. I don't need a friend/family/psychic-mind-leech in Blizzard to tell you this.

There is nothing wrong with competing with yourself. Look at NCsoft, look at SOE, look at Funcom; all of them work on several MMOs at once and run them concurrently. A lot of people pay for more then one MMO and many pay for more then one account. Not only does running two P2P games at once guarantee you a greater market share, but it often doubles your income from much of your existing player base. Blizzard WILL make another juggernaut that will once again shake the very foundations of the industry... Love them or hate them, they own this genre.

And you know what? They earned it.

Still, I don't remember Blizzard ever working on 2 games at the same time from the same franchise.

I know this because I work for Blizzard. I get all the inside information. Next comes a Starcraft MMORPG, then a Lost Vikings MMORPG ftw, then a new Blackthorn game. Now, I'm not a programer or anything technical over here at Blizzard. I don't work with the computers or anything, I just get to see the stuff as I do my job. I'm what you call a fluffer, you see in my line of work we....
ok, Do you know anybody from Bioware?

Huh? World of Warcraft was announced September 2, 2001 and released November 23, 2004.

Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos was released July 3, 2002 and The Frozen Throne was released July 1, 2003.

World of Warcraft was developed simultaneously alongside both Warcraft 3 and it's expansion pack, especially considering that WoW was in development long before it was announced. Kinda hard to miss that... Ghost was in development along the way, too. It was announced September 20, 2002, work on Starcraft 2 began in 2003 immediately after the release of The Frozen Throne which means for a while the two games were developed side-by-side as well. Or, at the very least, Ghost was nixed to put more effort behind Starcraft 2.

While I doubt their MMO is going to be a Starcraft game, it is not at all beyond the realm of possibility. I would suspect that Diablo is more likely, except that most of the original developers quit to work on Hellgate: London. Something new?

While I don't doubt they may be working on some type of a MMO, they certainly won't release one until the judge makes a decision. WoW was a big success and I have no doubt they will take advantage of that market, but it also opened a whole can of worms, and Blizzard/Vivendi isn't going to go into another MMO blind again. They are definitely going to get some legal decisions and the law on their side before doing this again.

    Wow, you are SO RIGHT!

    Oh wait, no, you aren't.

    Starcraft 2 is a RTS.

Sorry, you lost my respect ^_^

I hope they are working on a StarCraft MMO! This wouldn't be the first time Blizzard kept a game under wraps while it was being developed. One can only hope.
