If all these people who say, "get a corp" to solve the posters' gameplay issues would recruit the posters who are having problems into their corps, maybe they could be part of the solution, instead of part of the problem.
Well if they recruited me into their corp and then followed me around all the time making sure I was ok I'd quickly leave. That would get annoying pretty fast.
Some of us just want to play the game without being set upon like a pinata at a 5 year old's birthday party. I don't think that's to much to ask really. To bad CCP doesn't feel that way . Maybe if they did they'd have to start a new server due to the huge subscription count. It's more of a design problem than a community problem.
If they ever wise up I'll probably renew my subs. Until then though there are games to play that are actually fun where the devs don't code game mechanics that encourage and then reward people for acting like jerks.
Why don't they just make a counter-balance like based on how far away new players are vs old players they get a times X counter that increases skill point gain until they start to get closer (like say 50% of the old players) and then slows down to a crawl.
OR just give new players max learning skills, since the learning skills are just a time sink anyway and don't add any element to the game.
I was thinking about this when I was deciding if I should play Eve. I don't mind someone being higher than me but I'd like to eventually get close to catching up. In Eve though you will never catch up not even a little. Also theres no way your gonna beat someone who has been there a while longer than you unless they have no combat skills, in that case wheres the fun in ganking someone.

This is most definitly not true. Skills can only be trained just so high before you have to branch out. For instance, if you were to train all the drone skills to level V (a valiant pursuit) but only trained the Gallente drone spec V and left the other spec skills at nothing.. wouldn't your drone skills be equal to a person using only Gallente drones? My point is this: I think the most important thing to consider when comparing another person's SP total to your own is the individual skill group distribution not the over all total SP count.
And on another unrelated note... when encountering others in PVP; the element of surprise can count much more than fittings or your ship's level.
ok who is retarded enough they want to go back to using miner 1s, lag of epic nature, roids which lag you and allow rats and players to kill you, mining for MONTHS to get min to build a BS?
rem you can visit home after you leave the nest but you can NEVER go back home
yes comaraderie, yes eve employees had a closer public bond-they had CSMs to get feedback from a broad spectrum of the player base-now CCP just have dev plays at being that part of the player base or just reads their msn for BOB to tell em what to do

iv played this game for 3 years and i quit it a year ago,
tbh new server would be good idea, new start is fun, and dont come with this crap that you can compete with older players, because its a lie

Life of an MMORPG "addict"
For 7 years, proving that if you quote "fuck" you won't get banned.
