So far i have read the majority of articles and watched all videos for WAR, but i havent seen or heard anyu mention of how the armor and weapons system will work, im guessing it will be the usual loot the items from kills, but will they be level capped? or will there be a new better way of equiping them. Personally i think lvl capping them, takes away alot of the challange, that all those AO players know so much of.
Did i miss something out on the site? please help

Weapons will be restricted by your class anyway. (As a Dev said: "A Hammerer doesn't use Axes...or Swords... he uses Hammers! That's why he's called a Hammerer!")
My guess is, they'll go for a "token system" for PvP Loot.
Because it wouldn't make sense when a Dwarf dropped Orc Armor, now would it? That's why they should drop something like "A Dwarfen Beard" or "A Dwarfen Rune" or something, and with those tokens you go to your NPCs, and trade in those Tokens for Items you want.
Makes sense, ensures that you get what you want, and is easy to use and understand.
But yeah, all speculation currently, the Devs haven't stated anything official yet (other than a more than a Year old interview, where someone said: "We'll go for a heavily restricted system. As far as I know, no game had a system where almost every item had restriction on it about who can use them. That's our current plan" (not literally, but what he meant was clear) ).
I think they are currently playing around and testing different methods.
That's a WHOLE LOT of Classes.
And all Classes will be distinctly unique. (You won't have "3DPS Classes per Realm" or something, all three DPS Classes will offer unique Gameplay)
So if you want to use Axes, don't roll Hammerer. Roll an Ironbreaker.
Each class will have some way of customization, but a Tank will stay a Tank. He won't become another Damage-Dealer through certain Skills. He'll be a Tank. Maybe an offensive Tank, or a defensive Tank, but that's about it.
And with 24 Classes, you WILL find a class, that suits your playstyle.
So yeah, optical customization will be taken to a whole new level.
While technical customization will stay inside your classe's bounds. (So a Tank will stay a Tank. A Ranged DPS will stay a Ranged DPS, a Pet Class will stay a Pet Class and so on, while still giving them differing skills, to a degree)
Having restrictions on armor based on class and race only adds to the diversity of the game.
I think weapons and armor are one of the most important things in the game. Weapons and armors which are used by players has to be various and many.
Also there is a point which I give importance the most. There has to be weapons or generally items, which are special and owned by 1 player. If you want an example In EQ there were unique items dropped randomly and only 3-4 guys in a server owned that item. There wasn't a thing to give your hours to get a weapon. Great weapons were dropped randomly. In WoW there are epic items and every epic item has a way of owning. I remember I didn't sleep days to get an epic set and that makes me sick. I waste my time to get a weapon which everybody owns. It can be good item but it's disgusting way of playing.
makes u some weapon, part of armor etc. Some random details generator could b cool too, look on WoW, u were able make
line of 15 clons ( same sex and race). Wannabe clon ? I dont.
What If I want my armor to be cool black color.. Would Tzeentch punish me for my disrespect?
If having class based armour makes the selection of armour you use limited to an extent like gw, then this isn't looking to good for me armour/weapon wise. Nevertheless i am still getting the game, special edition if available and pre-ordering it.
Playing: EQII
Played:GW,EQII,DoaC,AO,CoH,EvE,KO,L2,MS,Matrix,PS,Ryzom,SL,SO,WoW,Lotro,RS,2Moons,Flyff,Fiesta,Diablo2.
Looking Forward to >WAR<
yea the ecomomy in daoc sounds the best, enchants r kwl for uber customisation
i trust mythic not to mess it up. they seem to be doing everything else right
Weapons and armor will play a "VERY SMALL" part of the game as told to me by the lead content developer.
thats all I know about it as a reporter.. but as a fan I can take a guess that it will work like daoc pre ToA. You can buy average gear from a merchant, pvp to gain rerutation which will give alternate armor, and quest. You can also assume that crafting will be the way to obtain slightly better than normal weapons, and they will have weapons of various speeds to suit playstyles of the varied players. There will be no clear cut ARCANITE REAPER and you will never have to "farm for mats" to get most items.
Expect a stat cap, your not going to be able to load up on STR and 2 shot people
Expect a damage cap (no 100 dps swords at level 60 when everyone else has 94 dps swords at the same level..... all swords will be a standard damage, speed, stats, effects and procs will vary)
That is encouraging to here, in a way atleast.
I'm very hopefull for visual customization of revolutionary proportions, coupled with a scaling, but balanced, itemization effect.
If one Hammerer likes huge slow mallets painted blood red, then he should be able to find or make them, likewise, If another hammerer likes smaller fasters hammers painted pink, then he should also be able to make or find them; however, both weapons should be equaly effective for the class and for the level range(tier?) of the character.
(Colors just used for example...please don't let me get killed by an onslaught of pink hammer weilding hammerers, that may just be too much . Keep it in the context of the game and the IP it represents)
