And the upcoming Rise of Kunark ...
There are a few "adventure packs" which are mini-expansions.
You don't have to buy the box set as SOE allows digital download of all the expansion packs.
Echoes of Faydawer retail includes all previous expansions.  I also vote for EQ2 having the best community have have played in.

    in my experience

    SWG: (pre Cu)

community was great! so great that to slice a weapon you actually needed to trade the weapon to the smugler and trust him not to run away with it... i would say 90% of the time you had nothing to worry about if you did it with a random smugler, and 100% if it was in your own guild. if one would steal from you they would be blacklisted and preaty much every one would know, their names would be on vendors and on items as a black list and you and the guy would have to end up deleting his char and remaking. (alas this does not exist anymore)

    EVE:

this is a hard core community. if you are not advanced or high enough level you are treated like trash and will destroy you. basically its the strongest survives (i had a friend who was high level which was in a high place in one of the bigest corporations, so i had protection. and i got sooo many tells of : if you where not part of this corp i would so pod you right now... just for being at that location.  i didnt really like the comunity there, since its noob unfriendly...

    EQ:

also an elitist comunity of hard core players i played a bit and got intermediate level, so i was accepted by some and despized by others, but i got preaty much ignored by some and helped alot by others... so i would say 50/50 its not as bad as EVE

    AO:

i recently started playing AO, and i asked a very noobish question in chat and i got an answer imediately from more than 1 person and spend 20 minutes trying to figure out what was indeed wrong. (i had to drag the item onto it instead of just clicking it)

    UO:

been way to long since i played

    WoW:

i really dont know, i played single player for 3 months... i dotn even think there is a comunity there, i see just people runing around doing their thing. and instanced dungoen raids... (and then they say GW is to instanced...)

    GW:

started out a mature comunity with lots of help being offered, guilds healing eachother, just having fun. but now its ugly sometimes

i was testin gout a new monk smiter build in random arenas and i got called a f*** noob

    and i quote

"YOU F*** NOOB monks are only suposed to heal. i have no business casting backfire... "

so yeah the comunity has gone to the drain but if you find a mature relax guild its lots of fun.

    Archlord:

dont bother. go play rappelz instead.

    Rappelz,

awsome game, havent got very far yet. but comunity seems fun and mature.

    Lineage 2

i call it the robot comunity: i see mostly bots around with names such as 00932xxxxx99 and so many of those.

    Second life:

its not really fun, most of the people all they want is to sell their stuff... unrealistic and... IMO a bad game

    enthropia

same principle as second life but much much better... but be prepared to spend real life money. or if you dont want to be prepared to treat it as a full time job... since to make about 5$ you need to work quite alot at the begining. but later on you can make a very good deal of cash: i do not recomend it at all if you just want to play... enthropia is more like work.
