That must also be why SWG is rated a C for accuracy on mmorpgchart.com. What could they possibly want to hide from the public by not releasing subscription numbers (like nearly every other mmo on the market)? Perhaps that their numbers have been in steady decline and are lower than ever. /gasp

Doing just fine... That is subjective. Some would not view the present population in SWG as "doing just fine", others have no problem with it. But overall it is just different for each player.
As for NGE has a rise in subs? can they retain these subs is the thing. (since most vets would reactivate their account to check out the new chapters, but won't be staying).
But, if you enjoy it, go play it. If you don't, too bad, since I haven't found a good skill-based game that can replace SWG (Pre-CU).
I just quit eveonline after 3 years of playing , the 0.0 sector playing just got ot me , forced pvp and sometimes not being able to undock because of wars just isnt fun anymore imo , i have come to swg a few days ago rolled a spy on chilastra and loving my time there,
am really surprise how busy the game still is considering how many forums say it dead , i guess you have to know where to look or depends where you are in the game .
overall i recommend people to give it a spin who know you might just like it and specially now that combat is harder the need for groups will coem back .
my only problem now is finding a fun guild with people online my xeorcia ingame look me up we can go hunting. bbye
there are 2 servers for swg that are heavy and very heavy at times. There are 8 or so servers on medium. This is usually at peak hours or standard game times east coast as I have seen. I just transfered a character from a light server to a very heavy server. I paid 50 bucks to do so. I dont regreat it one bit.
My computer runs the game like I wished it could pre CU. With the new AI and group mechanics in game from Chap 6 I feel weird playing the game. I relize that wow, eq2, lotro, coh, ddo, and a few others are mmorpg just like swg. These games I mention feel alot more arcade like than SWG. Go on Bria or Bloodfin servers and give the game a chance
People that have characters on light servers either pay for character transfer or wait for server merges. I couldnt wait I transfered, because I know even though SWG still has alot of growing to do, it still feels better than the other games.
How often do you actually talk to other players in game besides group members playing games like wow or coh? SWG just feels like a place with communtiy walking around that actually interacts with each other. Maybe its because players can talk to the other factions face to face.
Omg the SWG fanbois are back :S When will they give up? SWG is just pure crap and it's buggy as HELL........ Sooo many reasons why it's sooo bad, maybe the fact that it has no content and the UI is ugly :S Specially with that Class circle thing with the gay looking pictures rofl.....
Id say here isn't a good mmorpg ou there for ex SWG players :P I havn't found one yet because everythings soooo different.

Saga of Ryzom if you liked the community centered nature and in depth crafting of the old SWG.
One of those should hook you for a few months until the flood of new mmos come out.
