I think a mechwarrior mmo would be nice too becuase of how much custimazation the mech suits had, and it would have great pvp. that or also Gundum Wing.
Well for all of those asking for Mech/Mecha, Battletech and MechWarrior online, we are already well on the way. Close to the concept but an entire universe of its own. Already listed on the games list here at MMORPG.COM is Force of Arms or visit us at www.forceofarms.com for the most up-to-date info, media and Lore. We recently added some additional faction mechs to the site. We are currently in Alpha.

AAH! A troll fire! Quick, pour some Kool-Aid on it!!!
Amen to that. Fast-paced gameplay with MMO features would make a Diablo MMO the most successful MMO ever. Oh wait, Blizzard already has one of those.... We may have to wait quite a while for this one.
Some other favorites:
- Wheel of Time MMO - based on the works by Robert Jordan. An exceptional world, with tremendous RPG potential (wasted as a D20 setup right now).
- Harry Potter MMO - The combination of social interaction, wonderful environments, and unforgettable characters makes this a high choice.
- Pokemon MMO - Love 'em or hate 'em, the concept of being able to collect, customize, and battle in a massively multiplayer environment makes this an EXTREMELY appealing concept. It's almost a sin this hasn't happened already.
- Dragonlance MMO - An incredible setting (moreso in the first few series of books) with tons of potential. Soon to be an animated movie, so why not an MMO as well? Dragonlance is a D&D Campaign setting, comparable (but highly different) to the Greyhawk suggestion earlier.

[[ DEAD ]] - Funny - I deleted my account on the site using the cancel account button. Forum user is separate and still exists with no way of deleting it. Delete it admins. Do it, this ends now.
An Industrial Wild West MMO, with cowboys, pioneers, hunters, robbers, outlaws and such. Could rob banks of small towns owned by players with dynamite, could go cow rustling, mine for gold, rob trains and such. Could also have bar room brawls, shootouts, duels like in the movies, and other nifty things.
Class would be like: Trader, Outlaw, Cowboy, Pioneer, Engineer and such. Traders deal with making things like clothing, ameneties and such and running shops, etc. Outlaws obviously be more roguish, with less than savory abilities, like cheating and such, Cowboys being the more noble types, rugged heroes. Pioneers be like scouts and travellers, knowing the land well and such. Engineers could be the ones that make like weapons, tools, experimental steam gadgets and the like. Could have other classes too. Like soldier, and being a soldier of the U.S. military and having skills in rifles and tactics and such, Diplomats could have things to do with deals, treaties, contracts, land ownership and the like. Evangelists could be traveling religious folk, using their inspiring speeches to bring moral and healing.
The setting would be during the time when the West was still being settled, the gold rush was goin' on, and trains were the newest technology.
It'd most likely be a T to M rating, due to the violence, and for it to not be a cartoon and be as realistic as possible. I'm all for fantasy and sci-fi, but sometimes realistic settings are just as kick ass.
I'd avoid adding in Native Americans, due mainly to the fact that they would throw a fit over it, call it racist, and glorifying the violence and trauma they suffered. But, if it can be done, all the better.
Do any of you know really good sci fi MMOS out or on the horizon?
Tabula Rasa is in the top for highly anticipated sci fi mmo that is the only one I know of but to me it doesnt look to interesting and seems very dark not really into dark games
Just wondering what ideas you guys have for MMOs. Personally i am hoping for a Shadowrun, Magic and technology... it would be a wonderful combination. Any ideas?
Would like to see a good Western MMO.
Also, wouldn't mind seeing a prison MMO, of course in PVP format.
A fantasy all undead game with: Skeletons (stealth and of course using their finger as a skeleton key) - Mummies (mages strong powers average health but weakness to fire) - Vampires (strong magic health invisibility etc etc but all bonuses halved in daylight) - Zombies (strong HUGE health but slow and of no IQ {brains eaten out}) - Ghouls (damaging and healing auras, poison, weak attributes) hmmm... i forgot 1... idk
anyways all start in distinct locations and have different quests but guilds are on "deathmatch" no alliances.... only way of joining up is giving up independance. guilds should consist of any race you want to make GvG much funnier.... oh and it should be made to last a long time..
btw.. which undead race did i forget??????

I would like to see a gangster game based in the 20's during prohibition. Have classic cars for transportation, and use of tommy guns and baseball bats. It would be good with PvP (gang v. police) set around destroying illegal breweries and taking over police station. i'm not sure how many classes u could fit in though, not as many options as fantasy, but it could be done. i wouldn't just do cops vs. gangs though, i would probably have 2 gangs, so it could be gang v gang v cops (like DAoC), and one gang could fight another for breweries, while fighting the coppers.

a mechwarrior game would be great! a lot of suit custamization would be fun, and most importantly, the PvP on a game like that would be amazing
Funny, many of us lend criticism to games here on MMORPG.com and the most common complaint other than bad performance is that the games have a lack of imagination.. IE boring quests, linear stories, stilted plot lines... Then when someone asks about the MMO's we would like to see, everyone spews out titles of books, movies and table top games. (well there was the mobster idea) How can we be critical of the games we can play for lacking creativity and uniqueness if we can't think of anything more original?
Existing IP's should be avoided...People need to be able create, build and form something completely original. An example of some game design that is venturing in this direction is SPORE (Will Wrights new game in dev) Now I don’t mean to say a game can't be good when based on an IP... but how much leeway will the Devs have with the property? How much will the rights cost? How much "lore" is there to build upon? IE LOTR is really just four books... While a fan will certainly find enjoyment and emersion there... how can a sustained experience be maintained? Compare to the Conan property... over 80 books, and decades of comics. (The movies don’t count as they are derivative of the books) It would seem the Conan property has more "stuff" to sustain a long term game environment. I guess what I'm saying is... you may have liked this book or that series, but how does that translate to a long term game experience that is fulfilling
