Or maybe a new playable faction instead of Horde and Alliance!! I think it would be neat to play the Burning Legion where the starting zone is in the Twisting Nether and you can choose such races as dread lords, pit lords, and other demons. Add content for lvl 1 to level cap that consists of destroying maybe another world instead of Azeroth or something. PvP would be interesting too I think where Burning Legion could compete against Horde and Alliance for an entire world in conquest mode. It would be something different and maybe fun.
This is the most interesting idea to me, another playable faction(and it would probably have to be Burning Legion)would put a whole new element into the game, the most obvious being in PvP, 1 vs 1 vs 1! The only problems I can see would be the massive addition of material in the game, whole continents of areas. Still, seems really cool for me.

indeed, something completly new to the world. Either Burning Legion or Scourge or something else.
Some classes would be neat too, but still, the other classes will need to be balanced. Shadow Knights for example. or maybe lich or necromancer. really, screw bards. they have nothing to do in warcraft
However, I have a feeling any new races will be completely made up, like the draenei. Thats if they add more races, I expect the next expansion to bring Hero Classes and 2 new basic classes (1 for each realm).
next expansion with be Frozen North area of Northrend or whatever it's called, only area from "classic" Warcraft 1-3 that hasn't been adding into World of Warcraft. Well, Hyjal is in game but I don't think you can go in yet... just for Caverns of Time event..
they probably will eventually add another class or two. They could very easily do hero classes, one for each talent tree of each class, but with the 9 classes in game w/ 3 talent trees a piece that means they need to come up with 27 hero classes, not a small undertaking...
I say they do a "mini" expansion with 2 new base classes, and a new continent devoted entirely to PVP with capturable towns and such as in Outland, but on much grander scale including siege weapons (finally). this would be end all 24/7 pvp war
then next major expansion will be new Northrend area and hero classes. Northrend devoted to advancement through hero class levels. entirely soloable, mostly instanced content. Why? What is more heroric then conquering an entire enemy fortress or something (dungeon) by yourself? but heroes tend to have allies, so max of 5-player group, dungeon difficulty/mob count scales to group size, but very possible for all to solo if they so choose
this with addition of PVP only area, and expanded raids/dungeons in outland and azeroth, you've got yourself another year+ worth of content. don't even raise the level cap, make hero classes when you have all talent point possible in one tree used, then a second "hero" talent tree opens up that you gain talent points for by completing the adventures in Northrend. that way you don't reset the end-gear item race as Burning Crusade did, but you give players more to work for, maybe along with talent point rewards for adventures in Northrend, slowly build peices of fully customizable "Legendary" quality armor set/weapons/etc. not THAT much better then any PVP/tier 4 or 5 gear, but a LOT more customizable in terms of stats and appearance
10 races is enough. give us more content! though, TBC added more content then I can shake a stick at...
Andorae- did you just call Sylvanas a Blood Elf?! You seriously called Sylvanas a Blood Elf ?! Sylvanas was killed before the formation of the Blood Elves because Sylvanas was killed by Arthas when Arthas' Scourge rampaged through Quel'Thalas and Blood Elves were formed as recognition of those who died during that(which includes Sylvanas). The bull crap that Blizzard pulled is that before WoW:BC the Blood Elves hated everyone that wasn't a Blood Elf. They hate all Alliance because the Alliance didn't help defend the Sunwell from Arthas and afterwards when the Blood Elves allied with the naga to defend against the Scourge the Alliance called Blood Elves traitors. Before Burning Crusade the Blood Elves saw the Horde races as mindless barbarians that was beneath their notice. But the biggest bull crap comes from the Forsaken. The Blood Elves absolutely despised ALL undead. Whether they be Scourge, Forsaken or whatever the Blood Elves hated them because Arthas' undead Scourge is what destroyed their home.
Blood elf, High elf. same thing. As you said, it is just a name they gave themselves, that does not suddenly make Sylvanas be of another race.
No, the BE didn't hate everyone that wasn't BE, they were in an alliance with Illadan that included the Nagas, beside Illadan himself. Yes, they do not like much the horde, as they have gone to war with them for years, but the Alliance kicked them out and Illadan was defeated, so what now? (Note: before the expansion came out there were already at least 1 elf character in horde territory giving out missions, now it has "transformed" with the new blood elf model)
the SCOURGE destroyed Quel'Thalas, but who is the leader of the Forsaken? Sylvanas! a former elf! yes, she is dead, but she WAS the freacking RANGER GENERAL of Silvermoon city. Not exactly miss Nobody.
So, in this context, you still think the BE lore is bullcrap? I think not, what else were they supposed to do? stay in their corner and get destroyed by the scourge?
Yes, the alliance with the orcs/trolls and taurens is not very strong and it is of convenience but in the game it is hinted to some other matter that would link the BE to the Horde, sadly I still do not know what it is, being too low level BE to know, but it might get developed later in the outlands quests.
As for next expansion, Naga for the Horde fits. They like the Blood elves and could get invited to join by them. They hate the night elves, being corrupted ones, so they would never join the alliance.
As for Alliance, Worgens! it is so obvious! who created the Worgens? Arugal, a Dalanar wizard. In the next expansion the dalanar bubble finally open up and the dalanar council joins the alliance. As a side result, they manage to wrestle control of the Worgens to that idiot of Arugal and so the Worgens, or part of them, becomes a new Alliance member
Yes, both have the not so humanoid appereance that could mess up armor and the like (Naga much more than worgens actually) but what it takes? instead of boots you get fins' armor and instead of pants you get leg covering. done! what they ride? dunno about that, sea horses?
"If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime"
The frozen wastes to the north sounds about right with a whole new set of areas - maybe 7 - where we hopefully get access to Hero Classes (though that does sound like a big job if you had a special hero class for each of the talent trees, but is something I feel they need to do). Maybe add in joint Horde Alliance mission to defeat the scourge in these areas. Of course this would have worked better before paladin and shaman became avaiable to both factions but you never know. Opens up a new segment but again might be too hard and not WoW. Thats my 2 cents...
I'd have to agree with what a previous poster had mentioned regarding a new playable faction.
As it is, some races seem grudgingly part of the faction they are associated with. It seem like pulling Undead or Blood Elves from the horde wouldn't really hurt the horde. Maybe put Blood Elves and Gnomes in a new faction with one new race (so each faction would have 3 races).
I know there are probably a thousand reasons that pairing wouldn't work, but the idea of having a third faction would certainly make things a little more interesting.
In addition, there was a previous thread that mentioned Free-for-All servers where it would basiclly be every man (or guild) for themselves. That might be a neat concept too. This would be a neat PvP experience, but there would be obvious drawbacks as well.
I guess, a new expansion should actually bring something new to the game. Like, this one brought flying mounts. Sure there are 'new' races. But a playable race is a playable race is a playable race. It is not actually a new feature. Same with content. It is new, but mechanicly the same. New items, again are nice and shiney, but mechanicly more of the same. A change to the PvP structure through a new faction or a new approach to PvP in general would actually be new.
So, in a new expansion, instead of what race would you like, what new feature would you like?

I don't think a new race should be introduced, however, maybe a way to become a traitor could make for interesting dynamics...maybe a very long and difficult quest line that allows you to switch factions. It's just a thought, but I think a human Rogue defecting to te horde would make for some interesting story lines.
Don't mind me, though, I am sure it would turn into a faction switching mess.
another expansion would just bring more of the same. Nothing new, maybe a new race as coloring but nothing new. Just check out the recent expansion, that'll tell you what you can expect, alot of nothing new. Just the same old, same old grind.
another expansion would just bring more of the same. Nothing new, maybe a new race as coloring but nothing new. Just check out the recent expansion, that'll tell you what you can expect, alot of nothing new. Just the same old, same old grind.
whats with all this whine about grind, almost every goddam mmo has a requirement to grind / farm if you want anything like gold, items, crafting etc.
and there are alot of new stuff, socketed items, jewelcrafting, flying mounts etc etc. and there are ALOT of more stuff they could add in another expansion, such as new classes, new areas (ofcourse) another sort of cool mounts, hero classes, being able to control Tanks in BG's like they mentioned before, and other stuff. just bring the suggestions to blizzard and they'll read it. they do.
The lore of blood elves was rather umm, stretched, to make them go Horde.
The Blood Elves were in the alliance, treated like crap and found they were addicted to magic. The naga said we can help you since Illidan can supply you with all the magic you want. They left the alliance, joined Illidan and fled to Outland.
WoW starts and there are other blood elves in hinterlands and eastern plaguelands that are alliance friendly and horde killable. There is a hinterland quest to kill the other blood elves so they don't join the alliance.
<takes deep breath>
Ok so now a player blood elf will go to the hinterlands to kill the other blood elves who aren't with The Blood Elves that went to Outland.
Yes the Banshee Queen is (or was) technically a blood elf, but they weren't calling themselves that at that time.
Blood Elves- High Elves that became angered by the tragedy of Que'Thalas being decimated by Arthas, later became addicted to magic and did anything they could to satisfy this addiction
i would love to see a huge continent where an actual war between alliance and horde was taking place, with capturable territories and large scale battles.
O and deffinetly vehicles like the ones in Warcraft 3.
Imo, they shouldnt make northrend yet. If they did, they would have to make it possible to fight Arthas, whom which we all know is one of the strongest beings in warcraft lore. He is Mr Lore.
There are other places I would like to see implented to the game than Nothrend.
Here's my completely wishful thinking with no regard to gameplay balance"
Third faction, either Scourge or 'Neutral'
Neutral faction-Goblins, Ogres, living Nerubians (the rebels in Northrend, there are still some alive), maybe Naga
Or
Scourge faction - Dead Nerubians, Evil Humans (Death Knights, Necromancers, Cultists), Some form of Lich like race, maybe some kind of ghoul or ghost race. I'd say Dreadlords but I have a feeling more people would play them than Blood Elves. I sure would.
Nerubians (living or dead) would have females that look like spiders (the crypt fiend look) and males with more of a scarab appearance (the Crypt Lord look). Some kind of insect based racial (lay eggs in stomach, okay that's a bit much).
Ogres would have the option of one or two heads.
New classes:
Demon Hunter- Hybrid rogue/warlock. No pets, uses mana instead of energy, probably no stealthing but agility based fighter with demonic powers. Any race that can make one gets the option to wear a cloth over their eyes at character creation.
Death Knight- Hybrid warrior/shadow priest. Less defensive than a paladin, more offense. Vampiric fighter that buffs itself and allies as it does nasty things to the enemy.
New Pet Class- A pet class with multiple pets, putting most of its strength in the pets. Perhaps give different races options for different looking pets. Nerubians get insect swarms. Gnomes get mechanical thingies. Night Elves get woodsie treant thingies. The idea is based off a DAOC class that could summon a skeletal army to fight with.
As I said, insane wishfull thinking that's probably not going to happen. I can still dream.
Andorae- did you just call Sylvanas a Blood Elf?! You seriously called Sylvanas a Blood Elf ?! w00t, dude learn something about the lore then come back.
Lady Sylvanas windrunner was the Ranger general of silvermoon city before arthas came and made her into the banshequeen, she was a High elf, now known as Blood elf's.
also this is basically how it is, the blood elves was allied with the alliance yes, but the alliance didnt like them, the alliance KNEW they were tainted by magic, the nightelf could smell it, it smelt disgusting to the night elf's so later the alliance kicked em out.

And whatever blizzard says about the story is correct, because you see chris metzen MADE the story and he is still making it. so dont come with something retarded saying they are messing up the story-line.
Andorae- you are by far the LAST person that should be saying "learn the lore".
Not all High Elves became Blood Elves, the only High Elves that did become Blood Elves were the ones still alive in Quel'Thalas after Arthas destroyed it. There are still High Elves in WoW, in fact theres a High Elf in Allerian Stronghold that she's tired of being called a Blood Elf.
Chris Metzen himself said he screwed up the lore, he himself said the reason he screwed it up is that he forgot what he wrote years ago.
For the Blood Elves Chris Metzen said he screwed up the lore but having the Blood Elves be playable was more important than retaining the lore.

Andorae, you know nothing about the lore of Warcraft so just stop talking. Each time you post you only embarrass yourself more.
Well its gonna be a year before it gets a new expansion so i think it will be more then just one race playable if any, and jsut bring in whole new content
Well Blizzard sure muddled up what is a blood and high elf when they changed the character models before BC. That quest npc in Thereamore's Inn used to have the "old" high elf graphic but now she looks like a blood elf. Same thing with the elves in hinterlands, they are all now the blood elf graphic.
So if they were supposed to be high elves that weren't somehow now blood elves, then Blizz shouldn't of changed their graphic to make them look like the blood elves.
Blood elves are high elves who just renamed themselves to honor the blood spilled by their kind at the battle of Quel'Thalas (now silvermoon city). If there are high elves out there still, question would be where are they now?

I kind of like this idea, but I think you are right that it would turn into a mess. They would have to make it extremely difficult to switch.
In the end i decided if the choice was to me id make the naga and some other kind of race who could survive in water. That way they could start underwater in the middle of the ocean.
OR the harpies could be put in and could start in some kind of floating fortress.
