is this game worth it?(the 15bucks)     and do you think it will be free anytime soon?

    dood that would be great but i live in california butt would you have any good games in mind that i could really like (i play silkroad online, matrix online, and hero online)

    I am a Vet from the Pre-Cu, my opinion will tell you to stay away from this game.

    but the Reason will tell you, if you never try that game, no Pre-Cu or Cu, you will get right away in the NGE, you might like it.

    Check for a free trial, there is always one around.

    No, the game aint worth $15 a month, its not even worth $5 a month. If i were you, id avoid paying these people to try their game.... look for a trial and then decide. You would feel like crap knowing you gave these con artists $15 of your money if you ended up hating it.

    Look for the trial.

    These are the kind of responces I respect. I am also a vet since day one public release and I no longer play the game. Might I have played if I had not played before? Certianly.

    This game is getting there, it just takes a little getting used to.   Alot of player that used to play are a little upset over the change but things change either agree with it or dont.  Some new content is coming out soon once you get situated check out the test server, there you can cl90 yourself to get an idea of what you might like to become. 



    Pilots are the coolest but nothin beats a spy, almost :)

    Hi, I'm going to use this topic to ask some questions, I hope the OP doesnt mind

    I used to play back in 2003 untill somewhere in 2004 (dont remember) and loved the game, even with the loads of problems it had back then... (waypoints to nothing, missions broken, lots of specials not working (my poor pistoller), no mounts, no spedders, etc...)

    Then mounts came, speeders and Bikes, cities, and more stuff, but I left for real life issues.

    Today I went to SWG official site and remembered those good days, so I think I'm going to try it for a month just to see how it is.

    I'm from Europe, and played in Eclipse (non-official euro server) and after I went to Chimaera.

    Are these 2 servers still ok in terms of population or should I go to other servers?

    game won't be free anytime soon. and to answer your First question :

    Don't listen to these noob vet players, they are just a sore bunch because they aren't wanted in the game anymore, because SOE is getting along just fine without them, no matter how good the game gets now they will still find something to whine about....

    Best is to try a 14 day trial and find out for yourself if you like it, if you do buy it, if you don't you won't have lost anything ....

    I can promise you tho that there is no better game currently on the net, all the rest are typical wow style repititive crap .....

    For me it is most definitely worth the 15 bucks for all the entertainment and fun i am having, hell i would even say it were worth it if it were 25 bucks a month, but that is just me, you may or may not like it ...

    ( and to answer the guy above me, Chimaera is fairly populated yes, it is on the medium side most of the time, but there are more populated servers that are on the heavy side, bria is one, bloodfin is another, chilestra ( or however you spell it ) is another ..... )

    I keep hearing NGE, was it really THAT bad? I wanna try this game but I dunno. What were the significant changes due to this NGE? What's the current state of the game, as in did they learn from their mistakes and made it back to what it was or what?

    ima trying the trial now since i dont want to  pay 15 buks for something i wont like but i love computer games so ill probably pay for it i dont know

    I'm a vet started in 2003....NGE ruined the game that's for sure. So i looked for another MMO : Lineage 2, RFO, WoW, EQ2, Archlord, Silkroad, LOTRO, Vanguard,Ryzom...u name it and i tried it! Problem is no game could hold my attention. I missed the playerhousing, the craftingsystem,....in no other MMO i found the freedom i had like in SWG.

    So, i resubbed shortly before Chapter 6 to check things out again and oh boy, am i happy i did! The game is a challenge again and the new BM system rocks! U know what i'm gonna do? Immerse myself in this great complex BM expertise and start myself a cosy shop again to sell petfood. U tell me in which game this is possible!!!

    U like it or not but SWG has just started it's second life and i'll be a part of it!

    It's a personal preference thing.

    Pre-CU and pre-NGE SWG attracted a different type of player than the NGE.  That was the intent of the NGE.  With that in mind, it's not surprising that fans of one era view the other as inferior.

    Hi, listen to my opinion...

    Those veteran people are not right, i started play in january this month and i loved this game so badly, go to star wars galaxies web site, download the trial, you will remember my words, this game is very balanced, quests are great, and graphics, everything is awesome man, just try it. I heard a lot of veterans who returned playing just to see how is it going there, liked it, because the game is very balanced, espessially in quests area. You will find it very fun to do quests. I was doing one quest storyline till i hit lvl 50 and then there are plety more. The only thing i don't like is having a lot of jedi around, since they made jedi profession availabe for start, but i am good, with that.

    MY ADVICE: TRY THIS GAME AND YOU WON"T WANT TO PLAY ANYTHING ELSE IN YOUR LIFE. ( may be that too much, but i love it)

     

    P.S there will be no free account, comon its SOE we are talking about...they are  about money!

    ok for you people who said it isent worth it you probebly havent played for like a yr, just play it for 1 month and you will be suprised the game has improved so much within 6 months it is totaly awsum i cant stop playing it and there finaly doing something to the abandoned houses and towns letting players claim the rights to everything in a abandoned house and i think 15 bucks isent enough i would pay 50 bucks and alot of the servers are likie medium to full now you cant go anywhere without seeing lots of players go try it and judge for your self :).

    I have made the download of the Vets trial and it was the best thing I could do.

    Eclipse is not very populated but Chimaera is "High" in Europe prime time and I've never seen it bellow Medium at least in normal hours of the day in Europe, so the game is far from dead in that aspect

    To make things short I'll just say that I will be resubscribing the game when the trial period is over, so I can continue to have fun in the Star wars.

    Glad to know at least the people in Europe love the game. Was that their target audience?
