I have to agree with Ramadin on this one...somewhat. While you have been active somewhat I still think that there should be some control over who can enter, or more benefits too active members. People with high post counts come to this site everyday not only to speak with some friends they have made, but also to show their support for what mmorpg.com is doing. The last few winners of contests have had very low post counts, 1 winner had just 1 post and was a member for a very long time and just logged on once to enter the contest, you could tell by his 1 star rating. Now I don't really care about star rating other than the fact that it shows that people are actively participating.
I also think that people who actually contribute to the site should get bonus entries as well. Someone who is the first to bring a great news story, such as when (sorry I forgot who brought this) TFOL was cancelled. MMMORPG.com did not know this and had found out from the user post, that's contributing. That should deserve an extra pat on the back. You knock people who have high post counts in 6 months, big deal. I have been a member for 7-8 months. I have over 800 posts, that about 100/month averging 3.3 posts per day. So I take my time to read a few posts and put my input or assistance on this forum.
I just want to make it clear that I am not bashing you or anything for you winning, congrats to that. Just don't bash people because they are active members and like to contribute to the site and show their continuing support to mmorpg.com.

Edit: By the way, I agree with Ramidan on this one kinda, but you have to realize that even if they only gave contest tickets to people with more than 10 posts a month, then all these people would make 10 garbage posts every month just so they could be in the contest, which would royally screw the boards IMHO.

Personally I dont think any of us belong in beta because of some stupid contest.
Inviting people who they have no clue about into a test of their game in my opinion is foolishness. Thye should select their testers from loyal players of their current titles. At least for the early stages. When they give away these tester slots as if tehy were some sort of "free game" instead of what it is they lose the opportunity to bring in someone who actually cares about the game and wants to help make it better.
All they end up with this way is people who wanna play a free game.

Glad some other ppl agree that people just use the account for contests, its pretty obvious. Theyre talkin about tightening up the type of users that can enter. Little late now since theres no more betas that are worth a dook.

Look digity, the only way you can go by a persons activity here on the site is by posting and logging in. If someone just logs in everyday to try and win a beta, thats bad. Logging in often to actually post opinions etc, thats good. That way 60,000 people dont join the site to get betas and leave no hope for the people who actually USE the site. ITs not brain surgery, and the Admins are working on tightening up the contests. Capiche?
And coming here to flame people because they flamed people really isnt "grown up" as you put it.

Although i wanted to win really bad, it's no reason Nata shouldn't have the chance to win beta as well. And as luck has it, he happened to get the beta.
I'm not going to flame and say "oooh i have this much more posts than this person who won", or " I went on this site more than that person who won".
You guys should be lucky mmorpg.com is hosting beta contests for us lucky fellows.... For FREE. So instead of complaining, just be thankful for this opporunity, if you don't like how the contests work out... Don't enter in them. Nobody is forcing you to.
And Congrats to the 9 other people who won.. I couldn't remember everyone. Doobster, Dustyballz, Linchpin, Seriphos, Farseen.. Hope to see you around the forums (hopefully)

It's just a beta account for a game guys. You all need to take a step back and look at what you are arguing about.
It is a contest. The point of the contest is to bring traffic to the web site. Whether the people it brings post in the forums or not is beside the point. The point is to bring people to look at the ads and generate traffic for the sponsors of the web site.
Relax, take a deep breath and move on.
Although, it is kinda fun to read your bickering, at least until a MOD removes the thread.
