    France for me. I like playing the underdog, which i think they might be, in numbers at least. But what's with the "Long live the Monarchy" for the British? all playable countries were monarchies at the time.. ;)

    As a German obviously I can´t sail for those Frenchmen.

    Well, basically the same goes for the rest of the nations as well and that´s why I´m gonna be a pirate or something unfactional in case that´s possible.

    This is not a pirate game.  This is a naval combat game with pirates.

     Just to point out this poll has being done a ton of times on the official forums,it turns out that pirates and british will be equal in number while the french and spanish get the rest of the player base.

    I like hardcore PVP, so i think i'll choose pirates. As EVE player i hope that combat system will be balanced and pvp will have some reason (not like in WOW)

    I'll be a pirate, but I hope it's challenging.. if it's not due to the big number of pirates I'm expecting, I'll just go spanish.. I do not eat tacos though..

    Guys.. that was the brunt of the joke... I understand that 'tacos' are Mexican food...

    Secondly, I can not alter the poll (apologies).

    And finally, come on!  They are small jokes to incite semi-battles for some pre-game action!!

    an Official Forums' Poll shows that roughly(very roughly):



    30%Pirate

    30%British

    20%French

    20%Spanish



    i think the more you read up on the game and learn about the advantages and disadvantages of being either a pirate or one of the nations and even read up on the lore and history of the nations, being on of the 3 nations are a very attractive option.

    In fact every spanish speaking country in the world have the same kinds of traditional food... Oh wait. Traditional food in Spain is sea food mostly and if i am not mistaken paella... Well not quite the same as taco right?



    If you are american then I have 2 words for you: Taco Bell.



    No matter what you say to me I know you've eaten taco at least once in your life... Does that make you spanish?

    For the love of all things gaming!  I apologized for the comment!! the poll can't be mended.  I realize (and knew the WHOLE TIME) that Spanish food has NOTHING to do with tacos!  I've eaten traditional Spanish food and have family that is Mexican... It was a joke that seemed harmless at the time.. I thought people would chuckle..

    Please stop posting your complaints.. I get it..

    Well the Spanish living in the New World at the time of this game were eating plenty of tacos.

    So he is correct.

    A joke is a joke, but that's not a joke.

    It's like saying that Americans are "those fat people who eat only burgers and fries". I don't think that s a nice "joke" as you would call it, because it looks like the only thing they do in their life it's eating burgers and getting fat, which obviously is not.

    That's a bit like name calling rather than a joke, that's a huge difference.

    Not particularly offensive, but could have been avoided (In particular because Spanish don't eat Tacos, Americans do as someone else pointed out)
