There are now bigger and better mmos in the horizon.
Anyhow my heart still holds a drop of hope for this game..
The only thing that I see that may hold a candle to this is Age of Conan and Gods and Heroes. Both of which look pretty good, but I'm skeptical about, especially Gods and Heroes.

Being a small fan of Warhammer I am really looking forwards to Warhammer Online...
The only reason my comment was not a bit more excited about PotBS is that like many I am now very frustrated with the waiting... I feel like my waiting energy for this game is now running very thin.
yeah i agree i think the game wont be delayed by much.
It says the Closed Beta will be expanded in late June, and a Release Version should be ready Late June aswell. Theyre testing the economy and the servers getting ready for release.
So how long does it take for a game to go from Finished to Retail Stores? Who's gonna publish the game? Who's gonna host and manage the servers?
My optimistic prediction:
Late June- expanded beta testing, a near complete build of the game.

I'm with you..i was a huge fan and had a few friends from another mmorpg who would go play this. Now none of us are interested any more after the date been set back once again.I can understand why a lot of people still are eagerly waiting but for me .... i will try out other mmorpgs first then come back to see what this ones like if the others let me down.
I understand the frustration behind release date push-backs. But let's be honest.. You can voice your opinion against the game and I'm sure each of you believe what you say...
But when you see that game out on shelves.. You're gonna be dying to pick up a copy : )
If anyone's waited for a game to come out.. They are more than likely going to play it when it's available.
lol PoC can't compare to PotBS because of age groups the games are geared. PoC is for 12 yr olds that think Captain Jack Sparrow will be cool to play with online and will be drawn in with the obviously cartoony graphics while the mature audience will play PotBS which is going to be a REAL MMO not some money scheme to take kiddies money.

You have more faith in the dev team then most I know, eh I will be shocked at this point if it actually is good. Yea, never been positive about this game sense a long time ago devs were dead set against walking the land and having real avatars. Then ofcourse changing their tune because everyone pretty much lost intrest except the die hards. Now they are to another point were it's distribuation issues or more. Eh to many games that were long delayed turn out to be lemons. We all expect delays no doubt, but years are added, it makes one wonder what the original game was really like and how at this point it can even seem new with such an outdated engine.
Eh, it's one of those wait and see after release titles, I tried LOTRO and found it horrid and allot of people seem to love it, I might be wrong here, but then again LOTRO didn't take 6 years to make.

As a point of clarification, we've *never* been dead set against real avatars. What we did plan to do at first was to release a ship-only game and then use the income from that to introduce avatars at a later date. Eventually, however, we decided that because you only get one chance to ship and make a first impression, we were better served to bite the bullet (and eat the dev cost) and do it all up front. Since SWG Jump to Lightspeed didn't really draw in any new players, it became apparent that adding a new form of combat later didn't really give you a second launch. It remains to be seen how well Eve fairs with adding avatars, as I believe they've now announced. While it will certainly help with retension, I'm not sure people who passed them by for the lack of it will go back for a look now. But in our case it something we've wanted all along and later chose to do for our first release.
the game is done enough to get into open beta, its just it doesnt have a publisher yet, when they make a deal with a publisher open beta will start and then a week or 2 after it will be released

Game will be released sometime between soon and shortly before we die, leaning slightly towards the latter...
It has been delayed, without an official new date.
Speculation is anytime between late July to Oct.

Mmh, let us meet here:
There is only one truth in the MMO-world: the release.
