I almost did once when in EQ2, me and my guild were going to go on a huge raid, so I got all suited up then they tell me that it was only for levels 60+.
Well, i didnt cry but got sad and upset at the same time when a few fellow guildmembers in SWG told me how pre-NGE was and the great things they did and the things you could do. After that i heard more about it...searched for any info about it... visited all places that meant something pre-NGE (like the enclaves and the village). I hate to have missed that all and i hate that the guild i was in is gone! That all thanks to a company who has no clue what to do with a game that had more potential than any other MMO will ever have!
thats where i gained my SOE hate, i still cant believe how they could overhaul such a brilliant concept... and i miss the guild
EDIT: i played the trail in dec 2005 and subscribed in feb 2006 so yeah... if i got in only a bit earlier than i wouldn't have missed it... darn

Thats where my hate for SOE began too, I loved SWG still do, maybe because it was my first MMO but that game had so much potential, I loved how the players controlled everything, and you felt unique by the stuff you crafted, you felt like part of the world itself, thats something that I haven't felt since i stopped playing SWG and I am hoping for the next MMO to fill that empty spot.

Yup, I cried with the ending of my SWG life with NGE, and the breakup of a great Guild. I've been searching for something to generate the strong emotions that game and those people evoked in me ever since.

The OP is hilarious. How old are you? Please tell me you're like 43.
Serious death penalties makes every close call an adrenaline rush, and every minor achievement a major victory. This alternative rule-set should be in all MMORPGs.
Granado Esapada. Enchancing a lvl 88 (or was it 80?) Spear. Luckily got it up to +6 for the rainbow sparkle then got greedy. Only to have it break on +7. Roughly about little over 2mil in cash down the drain.
Vanguard. When I saw the Client was 18gigs while compressed. I laughed so hard I cried. That counts right?
Everquest. Back when EQ was still pretty fresh (Before SoV Expansion) one of the servers I use to play on was Bertox (not even going to try to spell the full thing). We had alot of problems with disconnects and server crashes. After one crash my 50 Paladin was not there anymore. Luckily after about 3 days of dealing with SOE and their run around. The problem was resolved.
World of Warcraft. Every roll I ever lose on an item I really needed (not the ones I wanted just the ones I needed)
Everquest. After camping some Golden Efreeti boots for about 18 to 24 hours with my guild. (Yep awake the whole time) Someone new to the guild that we were nice enough to let come along. Ninja'd them.
I could go on forever but that would be no fun.
In War - Victory. In Peace - Vigilance. In Death - Sacrifice.
Back in the day on Percival in DAOC a very popular and long time vet ended up die'n IRL. The whole server came together, Alb, Hib and Mid for a moment of silence in Hadrians Wall. It was pretty crazy, hundreds of players together, no one fought and everyone respected the temporary truce.
I didn't cry, it was very moving and surreal. I'll never forget that day. The fella who died had his family logged into his account for it.
My first guild in WoW, we had a great guild leader with his head on straight, going to college, a wife, a kid, and really starting to show promise of a great addition to the populous. Roughly 8 months after WoW had launched, he was in a car accident and died on impact. I cried. Along with many others. God rest, Ryan.
I feel you bro. I shed some tears when one of our long-term guildies committed suicide because he hated his life. The guy was a Euro cop and I think had a wife as well. That kinda stuff hits home and sticks to you for quite some time. May God take good care of those close to us who pass on.
Yeah I cried in EverQuest. I had been farming the Evil Eyes in Guk, had a TON of mana stones. At the time, they weren't a rare item and I was handing them out to my guild and friends like hotcakes. Several each day.
The day they switched to being incredibly valuable I felt a tear trickle down my face. Probably one of my more miserable days upon the mmo genre, lol.
Cried? Well ive cried or got tears in my eyes when I makde my first Halfling in Everquest 2, it was inzane! My first Halfling in a game, and he looked so friggin awesome and I was so excited I couldnt breath. Almost the same experience in Vanguard but not quite, because they lacked the belly, yes you could look fat but not in that "halfling" way.
Other than that ive laughed to my tears about players in wow, cant remember other games, just wow, you find ALL kinds in that game, got to love it

I feel for you, though I didnt have many I still gave a few away. I still have a couple of em floating around my characters on Karana server
I nearly cry every time I start reminiscing about Star Wars Galaxies pre-cu, the great roleplaying community and game I had..... That's how much I hate SOE
Quoting people doesn't make you clever, in fact, it makes you all the more stupid for not bothering to read the quotes you post in the first place.
I usually just get really pissed off. Like one time when i was playing onimusha genma on the xbox, i had gotten to the last level of this extremely hard mini game for the final weapon, and the last trash mob killed me I nearly shattered my xbox controller.
i got teary eyes when i was playing EVE. i spend all my money in a ship and equipments and in the first fight i died and lost everything because of lag. (i didnt have money for insurance). i became so sad that i quit playing

It is a question of fangs.

Then again there are many, many people who need to take a step back, and realize there is more to life then there computer screen and an online game.
