A 7.3 is crap hype for this game, it deserves much higher, and it does not deserve to be under Warhammer. IF youve been following the development of both games, youll notice this one has much more to offer that is different than other MMOs, Warhammer is pretty much the same ol same ol

Actually AoC was voted most hyped game last year.
Both games appeal to different audiences. With lots of people comparing one of the games to an obvious popular game out there, said game is going to get more attention. Whether thats done on purpose by the makers you decide.
i agree this game should be the best mmo when it comes out. it has new and original stuff in it. the graphics are detailed and different. it is not cartoony like wow and warhammer. the combat is new with less calculations and more skill. build your own town and defend it. take over outposts and get blood money. it has drunken boxing how cool is that a purpose to get drunk now. plus its rated m which means blood and stuff.
before you guys start defending warhammer look at it. it looks almost identical to wow. maybe it isnt but it looks, feels, and plays like it. if they been workin on it for so long why didnt they change it to be different? plus the previous rts games of it were bloody and brutal with good noncartoony graphics what the hell happen?
the voting on this site makes no sense. im guessing some people just like to get alot of people to vote for a random game for no reason and screw up the other ones. if you have that much free time on your hands i feel sorry for you.
Im not going to write down every detail about both games. thats redundant. thanx for ur constructive criticism
also the top rated mmorp's list is dumb too but...
My blog:
I'll take a wild stab at the fact that when looking at the screenshots, AOC looks graphically much sharper than Warhammer and after the Vanguard fiasco a lot of people might not be hyped up so much for the beautiful in lieu of the functional. Add to that the fact that when placed side by side, Warhammer looks a lot like WOW vs AOC's EQ2ish, Vanguardish color scheme and you got the same thing working against you in two different ways.
I'm hyped for AOC but I am also afraid at the same time. And for the record, I have not voted either way.
Look for the change during or after Beta.
Hype is pretty meaningless.
People will check a game out if they are interested or they wont, it's that simple.
Then you have the people who will be so rabidly anti-"xgame" that they'll be negative for whatever reason that they have, or just because they are pro-"ygame" that they feel that they have to be anti everything else.
Its not that the number means anything, its just that that number is a representation of people who play games. and whose gonna beta/ buy the game... and alot of people are really looking forward to this, but because of WoW lovers under rating everything thats not cartoony crap, people arent going to play it... oh well whatever theyll all see
For what it's worth, DAoC had a pretty solid track record, and AO is going to be remembered for it's launch, as opposed to subsequent recovery. Launch cost Funcom a shot of being a real player in the last generation of MMO's.
Warhammer has a huge existing fanbase because of the RPG, Conan has a fanbase, but it's not even close to what Warhammers has, makes it easier for Warhammer to draw from an already stable base.
The fact that it's so close, just indicates that Age of Conan is reaching well beyond it's fan base, and past the AO launch. Not sure that Warhammer has gone far beyond that base audience. That being said, I have little doubt that Warhammer will have a huge amount of subscribers, and could easily be the 2nd largest MMO in the US in a very short amount of time after it releases.
it actually does represent the age of conan community..the forums are just full of.."this is my game and anything you say will be shot down" type of people..half the time they are bashing war..i dont find the game interesting and i have no love for the community
Actually, it's pretty representative of every forum here at mmorpg.com, in fact it's not very close to representing the AOC community on the official forums, although of late...it has not been close to what it was in the past, when people were more comfortable with discussing games, as opposed to just telling people what's right and wrong.
Just because you don't like something doesn't mean everybody will hate it.
And by the way, I do find WAR interesting and so I hyped it, sue me.
