***I am playing LoTRo right now and feel that it belongs in at least 3rd spot. I cannot however in good faith put it up there because it is so new. Right now it is really enjoyable but those other titles I played at least a year each, I cannot compare LoTRo with them properly yet.
1: Everquest- no mmorpg will replace the time I spent into this game. I compare this to every MMO I hands on and still do.
I don't have any other top mmo's. No mmo to me has compared to Everquest 1 and seeing as EQ has 13 expansions and a new one on the horizon. None will to me. I tried EQ2, AC2, Vanguard to get rid of my EQ love and try and move on but all have failed. I have always returned to EQ after few months of inactivity. WoW to me was a copy of EQ when I loaded up so I didn't get into it, as I wasn't a Warcraft fan. But now if it was released today for the first time after playing WC3 - Frozen Throne MOD Defense of the Ancients (DOTA) I could say i would of gave it a shot, but it feel short of enjoyment first few hours of gameplay.
OMG!!! U NEWBIES!!! i can't believe none of you pplz named UO!!!!
1. UO!!! 2. UO!!! 3 UO!!! altough uo somewhat sucks now, but i still wish someday the old uo will come back ^^
Old UO has come back, it's called the free servers. lol. They even have T2A classic.
IMO the best were....
1) UO for PvE and PvP
2) EQ for IMMERSION, a "magical" feel, and the only game to ever make me feel like I was "In" another world. (I loved buying bread from that bakery in South Qeynos)
3) City of Heroes/Villains for pure uniqueness, action-rpg, amazing theme, Singlehandedly the best charact creation of any mmo, the fact there was NO ITEMS and instead all that mattered was HOW YOU LOOKED
Runner Ups: WoW for being so polished and just a great game in general. Vanguard for having a lot of potential and a lot of good qualities, although hurt by some negative. Anarchy Online for giving Sci-Fi a shot in a world of fantasy. DDO for having the best quests, and if it were not for the fatal flaw of RUSHERS, a bad community, and a lack of roleplaying, and lack of content, would otherwise have the best PvE BY FAR. An amazing game and concept ruined by one or two fatal flaws.
DAoC for it's PvE, artistic style, and amazing realms and classes, but NOT for its falsely-exalted PvP
(50 Mercenary / 50 Cleric, talking too, beta player of DAoC and have played recently.)
DAoC's PvP consists of a bigger group roaming around boringly forever until they find
1) A group a lot smaller than them, or single soloers, who you kill without breaking a sweat. When it's 8v1 or 32v8, it isn't a battle, it's already OVER.
2) A group a lot bigger than them and your group gets whiped.
It's incredibly rare to find a good group, even more rare to find an enemy group the same size as yours (Always always always instant-win or instant-lose. Only 1% of the time is there a fun fight.) It is incredibly time consuming, taking an hour or more just to find a group, and then taking an hour walking around a map that's WAY too big, only to have your 8 member group massacre a soloer, or a group of 3 that has absolutely NO chance. On the bigger scale of the "zerg", there is no organization, and realms are unbalanced.
The community entirely (excluding if you have a guild, which REQUIRES you to have a guild) is a bunch of elitists. Without a guild to RvR with, you're pretty much screwed. There are few guilds that consistantly and constantly RvR compared to the VAST amount of guilds that are incredibly small in number, never online, or are just PvE guilds. Guild-RvR is not hardcore friendly, and Non-Guild RvR is not casual friendly.
I would put in Asheron's Call, as I've heard it was amazing, and it was one of the big 3 (UO, EQ, AC) and it did SEEM to be great, but I have never played it. Unfortunately.
3. DAoC - Quit when they destroyed my favorite class.
Horizons could have done it, but without adventure, a game kinda dies. Vanguard still has a chance. The Agency has my attention right now for up and coming games.

Everquest 1 (Pre Gates of Discord. If it were not for PoP flagging/raiding, it would be the best today)
Silver
Everquest 2 (today's version, not release). Plenty of Solo content.
Bronze
World of Warcraft (solo content, some non-forced group stuff, terrible end game, horrible zerging )
-----
Platinum
Vanguard: Saga of Heroes (I am telling you, if SOE keeps working on this game, it can be better than eq 1)
OMG!!! U NEWBIES!!! i can't believe none of you pplz named UO!!!!
1. UO!!!
2. UO!!!
3 UO!!!
altough uo somewhat sucks now, but i still wish someday the old uo will come back ^^
1.Final Fantasy XI
2. Lineage 2
3. Eve Online

WoW isn't even in my top 10 sadly its a good game but got boring much much to fast
Asheron's Call
City of Heroes
World of Warcraft
....stay on topic . What are my personal top 3 mmo's...........
1) pre cu SWG
2) WOW
3) Lineage 2 and UO
This is pretty hard to rate the best, so I am doing the games I had most fun in.
1. SWG
2. WoW

Sent me an email if you want me to mail you some pizza rolls.
1. Everquest

(Possible games to move into list : Lord of the Rings Online, and A quality, western, cowboy based MMO)
Most Hyped game: Pirates of The Burning Sea
2. The Matrix Online (great community...I guess I love the storyline.)
3. City of Heroes/Villains
---------------------------------
Anticipating Tabula Rasa the most, followed by WAR

So DAoC gets worst PvP award. Worse than DDO PvP.
