    1) UO pre-trammel

    2) UO pre-trammel

    3) UO pre-trammel

The rest are bad immitations or with major game breaking features.

    Examples:

    1) Lineage 2: It could easy get into the top 3 list if it wasn't for the uber items. Overenchanted weapons/armors, boss jewels, etc Real open-world environment with open/free pvp, but what 's the point if the richest dude wins? Whoever spent the most (r/l) money to get his weapon oeverenchanted and get those boss jewels and rest armor and have a good supply of qhp etc pots wins. So, forget it. Uber items = game breaking in pvp. Always. Devs of any game should know this for a fact so valid like the earth is round and not flat.....duh

    2) Eve Online: It could easy get into the top 3 as well if it wasn't for the real time skill advancement. There's nothing a new player can do, no matter "how hard he could "work" to catch up" to really catch up with an older player and his choices of what ship he can fly are limited solemnly by the amount of time he has been subscribed to the game. And we're talking about a LONG wait if you wanna fly the "big babies".

    3) DaoC: I only mentioned it because of its decent pvp. Besides that, not a true MMO if you ask me. In my book, if there's no open world / open pvp, game is not a MMO, it's an instanced game (with lots of players), be it pve or pvp.

    4) GW: Same as DaoC. Just adding that imo GW's pvp is a bit better to me than DaoC only for 1 thing. DaoC's battles last too little because of its game deciding CC skills. (CC = crawd control) and the ease of ppl getting killed, so battles as I said are too fast to be enjoyable.

The rest are not worth mentioned cuz imo MMORPG should have pvp. The only reason to play a MMORGP and not a single player RPG is because you confront humans instead of a stupid AI. If you want a pve MMORPG because you like to socialize etc...well ok, your choise but duh....get a life and socialize, don't you want to confront intelligent players instead of stupid AI when you play a MMORPG game? Or else, just get in ventrilo or teamspeak with your friends and each of you go play Oblivion or something in your PCs. There, you socialize AND play an RPG...lol

PS: UO after trammel doesn't make it to the top 3 list. There's no top 3 list after this. Trammel made UO another "instanced" game. Meaning: You can chose when to pve in safety and when to pvp, so --> instanced. And I hear after a while they implement a feature to insure your weapons so you won't lose them in pvp and etc.. Well, to me, UO now a joke, like the rest of them.

PS 2: Darkfall is the only light at the end of the tunnel

I think your confused there. DAoC only has instanced PvE and all the PvP takes place in open field or RvR dungeons (via Darkness Falls or Passage of Conflict).

Guild Wars is the game with instanced PvP.

Exactly Variok. To me, if you have zones, where you can chose to go there and pve in safety and then go somewhere else and pvp, so there's no open/free pvp world/environment, game is instanced and not a true MMO. ****A true MMO is a world****. A world that you can encounter danger (pvp) any second in your daily activity. A world where a bad guy has consequences of his actions and a neatrual guy faces the risk Vs reward dillema. If you have a choise when to pve and when to pvp in any game.........it's a substitute, not a world, not a true MMORPG (according to my tastes at least).

I played DaoC for at least 8 months (8+ h/day - as usual), don't get me wrong. Nice pvp but not an "open world", tis all.

    1. (Classic) Ultima Online. Anything after AoS is to item, gear based. In classic UO a mage could play the game naked and the only items aside from a few magic weapons got crafted by players only. I now hate EA games and I will never play another MMO with EA taged on. I feel bad for all the poor saps that are going to play Warhammer.

    2. Shadowbane. The father of all (REAL) PvP. What other MMO has full on FFA PvP, player looting, 0 restrictions for killing, player built castle sieges, 0 quests, many classes and endless char builds? None :) ! I love you Shadowbane!

    3. I have played many other MMO's that sucked hardcore. Maybe Darkfall Online will grab my rocks like classic UO and SB did when it does come out.

1.World of Warcraft  (even if you do not like the game you have to look at the sucess it has had in the mmorpg field)

2.SWG(Old school version i will admit it had some problems but it was still a very good game)

3.Runescape (yes the graphics may be crappy and community not the best but there was always something to do when i first started playing it)

    Most Anticipated

    Warhammer Online

I have played many MMO's over the past 12 years I've had my own computer but overall my best are:
    1. UO - I will not elaborate, it just is accept it.

    2. Ryzom - Unique down the core, best community by far.
    3. EVE - Timer based skill system and some great RP

    1.Dark age of camelot

    2.Eve online

    3.Planetside

These are the ones that gave me most "fun" and that should be what makes the game great.

1- City of Villains; I overplay it...and I kinda resent the nerfs from CoH so my tolerance to adjustements is down the drain.

2- City of Heroes; nerfs kills it.

3- EQ- Lost Dungeons of Norrath; too little too late.  Raiding kills it; it took time, but it destroy it...as a dot.

    Most anticipated MMO:

I'm posting also the year these game were at it's maximun glory and enjoyed of a wealthy number of players.

    1st - (2004) Dark Age of Camelot

    2nd - (2003) Everquest

I don't have any other MMORPG that has come close to those games. Not even by a far margin. And I've been playing every MMO (free or fee) since Ultima Online.

    Top three favourite MMo's are:

    2. WoW (before BC came out)

    3. Guild Wars

Soon to be #1 is Warhammer. WAAAGH!
