What oldschool RPG would you like to see into MMORPG new!

Just wondering what everyone would want to see if you could take any one old school RPG game and turn it into an MMORPG which would it be and you are welcome to give reasons.

Personally I would like to see Final Fantasy VI (3 USA) made into an mmorpg. Not necessarily the story plot line, but the world, music, character design(but updated graphics) and actually running across characters who were originally in the game.

What would you all like to see???

The thing is that all the old school rpg's are meant to be single player and it would be incredibly difficult to turn them into a good mmorpg. If it was able to be pulled off it would be pretty cool - but I don't see it happening any time soon.

Regardless, it is nice to fantasize your favorite rpg's being made into mmorpg's - which in my case would be Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals.image

Its a toss up for me

FF7(like the original poster said, with updated gfx and such)

    Daggerfall

    Diablo

    Chronotrigger

Although i dont see how FF7 could be done in an MMO format. Still my fav game of all time.

    Neo said FF6 not 7. VI=6

I'd probably go with FF7 if they included the sweet card game from FF8(?). But then again I'd love to see D2 or Starcraft into an MMoRPG

OMFG hell ya MMO nethack would rule, i still play nethack from time to time, imo for its time and simplicity, it was by far the most complicated and challenging rpg i have ever played (never got past 14th level of dungeon. I loved training pets to steal from shops, the train of monsters with a vendetta against u that spawns from nowhere. tho todays gamers would not stand for ascii gfx...but MMO would be great (even a multiplayer mode would be great)

Diablo would be a crappy MMORPG, they would need t ochange it drastically to make it a good MMOG, and chances are that current Diablo fans wouldnt like.

An FFT MMORPG would kick ass.  Making the best RPG ever into a mmorpg would be awesome.

I think FFXI is a love it or hate it type game. Im a huge fan of final fantasy but ill never play FFXI because it just sounds like another EQ clone. Sure there are differences but its just not my type of game. On ther other hand, Ultima was also made into a MMOG and it is one of the most succesful MMORPGs on the market. Of course its nowhere near as good as it once was but there are rumours going around that they are trying to make it what it used to be before they added all the crap in.

i'm happy to get lots of input. while thinkin about my topic I came to a realization

MMORPG's lack the ability to hire NPC characters!!

In some old rpg's you get a character whom you can either hire or is part of a short bit of the story with which you use in your fighting! Do you think it could be done putting Computer Controlled "Hire Hand" characters in the game? and if so who do you or which game feel could pull it off??

and to the post about Final Fantasy Tactics MMORPG... isn't Final Fantasy XI pretty much the same as Tactics... in a way...

I wouldn't mind a "GOOD" final fantasy mmorpg.. I'd like to see another made with more character customization, maybe they could go more "anime style" and less "real life" to balance the game requirements. the Graphics of XI were GREAT but they didn't have to be to appeal to the FF community. I wish I could've done quests to gain new techniques/abilitys.. and a better leveling system.. Or the ability to change it from exp cap roughly 100 per kill to you get 1exp from a Rarab at level 20+ 10 from a *** and 1000 from a **** and need 300000 points to level up. I think that gettting atleast 1 exp from junk would've been nice! so many newb areas and areas with monsters to fight that nobody ever set foot into (minus the japs) it was a waste of game

    anyway :D keep em posting!

Morrowind with a few added skills like smiting

or ff7 but that would not be possible since the world changes.

and dungeon siege could make a nice mmorpg

Now I'm sure that a Zelda MMoRPG would work. The game contains all of the differant types of characters, and even makes the melee guy viable image
