Chrono Trigger would be the one I've played the longest amount of time on because I'm still playing it on my PSP ^.^
Final Fantasy Tactics would come in second (only the original not the "Advanced" with the retarded rule system). I logged hours and hours on that game due to leveling my characters to uber status, accumulating monks with the ninja two hit ability...thats just pure over kill.
FFVII (common I mean that one's a given )
Halo 1 for the hours I spent playing in Okinawa with my roommate and some of the other guys from work and the barracks.
Halo 2 for the hours I spent playing against the other shops in my squadron while we were in Iraq, and online after we got back.
After all those just pick a really good RPG and throw it in line.
for me it would be the "Legacy of Kain" series one of the BEST stories out there. and the first "Soul Reaver" taking the lonest of the series.might be 6 different games but its still just 1 story .
FFX took me a long time to,and also "Vagrant Story" it played like FFXII does but you could chain link attacks and a close second best story of all the games i've played.
Baldur's Gate series easily. I've been playing it since 1998. The two games have so much to do and so many race/class combinations/romances/items/NPCs that you can play through it many times.
Word. I never finished the romance with that dark elf chick. Hmmm... maybe it's time to go back.

Fallout....played them over and over again....and a week back reinstalled it.
Second place goes to the old adventures , mainly lucas arts , played them LOADS of times and every now and then i grab a maniac mansion or something to play again. They just don't make adventures like they used to.

Great Choice!
Also, NWN (but not much available for NWN2, yet)
Steel Panthers World at War - Turn-based Tactics WWII Wargame<not strategy> - Free Download/nice Scenario pack for Registering; MegaCampaigns were great (and fairly cheap) but many are no longer available; SP Main Battle Tank [SPMBT by Camo Software, I believe] is 75% as good - larger formations and more modern equipment
MAX - old Interplay DOS RTS/TBS [runs well with DOSBox] - AI isn't very I, but on God-mode produces so much faster than you it is challenging in short games - all units have rock-paper-scissors counters [The 2nd version MAX2 is Nowhere near as good, unfortunately]
LOTRO! Well, I play it as a Single Player Game when my wife doesn't want to play
Edit: Doh! Forgot about most of the Civilization series - for some strange reason I like the Alpha Centauri one the best!
lol i have to admid that that would be runescape for me, played it for about 3 maybe 4 years, the only other mmo i acutally paid to play for was wow wich i played for 3 moths, so runescape i by far the game i played and also enjoyed (at the time) the most....

Most likely Panzer General. (still played it from time to time till I switched to vista and it won't work "sigh") than would have to be civ 2 (4 is really good too but 2 was the best!)
Gametap has PG2 and PG3D Assault. You should be able to run anything on Gametap with Vista?
Panzer General series is one I played a lot also. I played em all, PG1, 2 ,3DAssault, Pacific, Scorched Earth, even Star General and Fantasy General. Pacific is my favorite. The soundtrack rocks. Though I really like the personal dialogue in between missions in PG2. I wish they would have kept that in the newer versions.
For me it's Civilizaton 3 with Starcraft being the closest but still distant second. And that's bad because I spent hours and hours playing SC and it still pales in comparison to the hours I spent on Civ 3.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. My cd has tiny little grooves in it from being played so much. And this is my second copy of it, since the first got so much overplay that there were places in the world I'd get 'stuck' and couldn't move out of without twitching around in place for ten minutes trying to get the perfect angle to walk out of the hang. I had the game for both my XBOX and PC- the XBOX because I wanted to be able to play it on a big screen TV. When KOTOR 2 came out, I played that to death also. Light side female, light side male, dark side female, dark side male, just like in KOTOR. I wanted to get all aspects of it. Then, as if that wasn't enough, I started messing with player made mods. Both games have an addictive quality, not in small part due to excellent sound effects. Who doesn't love the vrr vrr of a lightsaber in action or the zing of a blaster? But sadly, I still haven't gotten my husband to play them.

I just got out BG1/BG2 again and installed a mod called EasyTutu. It converts the BG1 Engine into the BG2 engine so you can play both with the same features. It's pretty awesome.

Final Fantasy I, III, VII, VIII, IX, X
Fallout 1 and 2
Morrowind
Civilization 2
Too many more to name! Can't just pick one. My life was wasted on Video games as a child.

See you in the dream..
The Fires from heaven, now as cold as ice. A rapid ascension tolls a heavy price.
Civilization
There was no decent other game around at that time so I kept playing it for about 2-3 years, 6+ hours / day. Yeah, I was crazy....lol
Yes, I also find that shallow and pedantic.
Other contenders were Half Life, StarCraft, Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics (taken together)......and from the oldies but goodies days... Wasteland.

If you count arcade AND home systems, probably Street Fighter 2. I played that non-stop back in the day.
"...and with that cryptic comment, I'm off to bed!"
WOW! ToD on the TI-99. Talk about memories. I remember making a hangman game on the TI-99. Fun times!

Played it like for 10 years.
