Well after reading all this and the other many,many threads regarding this issue I can only see one point can be made.
Its not about what CCP did or didn't do any more its about getting the respect and trust of their paying customers back.
And its fine for all the BoBettes and Goonies etc to banter this all around but until CCP does what every other Gaming company does and restrict its employee's from being able to give unfair help to others, this will keep coming back to bite them, be it TRUE OR NOT.
I know that some are your friends but that CCP's fault for not making this standard practice from the start. When taking and employing people from within the game you will always end up with this.
Even if this is ....... as people say some one trying to pull CCP down, hey if they put this right there is no one can say jack because there will be no one to point the finger at.
I see those saying this is Tinfoiling or something or forum trawling but what ever it is just the fact that people still care enough to post here or the 170+ pages on their own forums should tell CCP people arn't happy and won't forget.
And I remember the heady days off 33k online and now ? best i've seen for awhile is 28k maybe people are doing what Kieron said.

I was playing City of Heroes, had a 50th level and gave away 50 mil influence to a SG group there....was working on another char that was my second main char....he's now 40th....I only played for a month, and gained about 7 or 8 levels and checked out the new issue 9. Also saw that the game plays very similiar to how it did when I left....its slightly more complicated with issue 9.....
Because of issue 9, in that month I was subscribed I won bat wings, a rare costume piece, and cost me about 5 mil to sell it for 25 mil....so made about half of what my other char had....figure if I played for another 10 levels I'd have 50 mil influence like I had from my other char.....
I think At around June 12th the account I was playing on became inactive again, so I was thinking about resubbing it for another month, but its really just busy work. I was also checking out Galactic Civ 2, even though its not a mmorpg. I'm really waiting for Gods and Heroes, although I have heard some bad things about the DEV's with them, was considering trying them out....
I heard that SWG had alot of depth and was pretty intricate, but that its been stripped down to bare bones and less intricate, also the issues with jedi made me cringe before, not sure what the situation is now, and I don't mind people bringing up NGE whenever they want on the forums to let those uninformed (like myself who never played), exactly what transpired. All my info is vicariously from other people regarding SWG, since I have never played it myself, and my knowledge is only from what I have read.......
I'm not the only person who likes to inform people of what is going on or has happened in the past.......
I played gemstone 3 bu simutronics for awhile, spent way more money than I should of on it, back before it was $$ by hour, and not by month, and then moved on eventually to EQ. I played EQ for quite awhile, still own the account with a 65th level enchanter. While playing EQ I also tried UO and DAOC, but it was too similiar to EQ and I had alot invested in EQ at the time.....so didn't pursue either of those....
Eventually I left EQ out of boredom after I had gotten all the AA and what not that I had wanted or desired, and was pretty bored with EQ......I then moved on to UO for several years..........and also played city of heroes concurently for at least a year, probably 2.....while playing UO and City of heroes I also bought WOW for $50 and tried it for a month, it was too simliar to UO at that time....
I tried AO, and TMO ( the matrix online), both were not that good, graphics and combat were lacking.....I also tried the trial for DDO online, but don't like the level limit of only level 20.....the graphics of DDO was heads and tails above AO and TMO.....
I beta tested auto assault.....and beta tested LoTRO, both didn't really grab my attention. I'm not interested in playing (essentially beta testing) Vanguard.....I went back to WOW and played for one more month....
I'm much more frugal with my $$ now, not because I cannot afford it, but because $15 a month adds up.......also time investment and effort, after

I tried WOW for a month, using my old account where I had a 20+ level fighter char....and did quests for a month there......
I also tried another trial of Eve online, and actually although I played in the trial some, didn't play it enough mainly because I was bored of it and was much more interested in other things at the time I was doing it.......I barely had the impetus to buy learning books I needed for that char, and left it not even researching as much as I could of on that char.........usually when I play a mmorpg I'm a real min/max'er type of player, but kind of blah with Eve Online, if someone gave me the oppurtunity to play Eve Online for free, I'd not really be interested.....
I also tried recently the better computer games out there, including freespace, and company of heroes among others....
I'm waiting for Gods and Heroes, so I'm hoping that it won't completely suck, I plan to buy it and try it.....

The numbers came form the eve-o website its for the 33k as to the 28k, well I pretty much login the same time day in day out during week days and always make a mentle note of the numbers beacuse lag can kill
But I don't see the game as corrupt but more people abusing the power they have to help others gain.
If you like its SOME of the people within CCP who are the issue rather than the game.
It's also easy for so to dismiss the continued rants about this as flaming but again thats more CCP fault for leaving doors open.
Also I can't see how blaming any one group or corp/alliance is right. Neither BoB or Goon have the power to pull down EvE or CCP only CCP themselves and us the paying customers can do that.
If people log off in droves because of this then you know heads would have rolled but to misstake people NOT doing that because they now have trust in CCP is also silly.
Some of course will have changed there minds, most I fear, have made good friends on EvE and play more for that and value that more than leave the game.
And I say long live the debate, we are all entitled to our opinions and trying to supress them which ever side of the coin they fall is crazy.
Those who believe CCP are the bad guys will continue to do so and those who are pro CCP will be like wise.
I say we can't change the past, we can, try and make sure it doesn't go unchallenged if it happens again and I for one hope it doesn't.
