I tried out a 14 day free trial of city of villains, and I fell in love with the game. Once my trial has expired I wanted to login back into the game, but was too lazy to go to the store so I searched for places on the net to buy game time cards from and this was the first link that came up. Apparently they sell you 30 day or 60 day game time cards for city of heroes/villains and once u pay them u are suppose to recieve an email shortly with your game time code.
I made a purchase for a 60 day trial code during the afternoon, recieved an email that said this.

The evening came and 7 hours later I still haven't recieved a code from them.
I filed a dispute with paypal regarding this transaction saying that I didn't recieve anything from this seller.
Later I recieved an email from the seller saying this

So I am still waiting to get my money back and still going through all the paypal red tape hoping I can get my money back.
Just a warning for others that may end up into the same trouble.
-When a site says ur suppose to recieve a code in 30 minutes upon payment it's reasonable to file a dispute if they are 5 hours 30 minutes late right? Or am I in the wrong here?

I was at home all day, watched Ghost Rider the movie with my dad kept checking computer for the code, had lunch, had dinner, didn't go outside because there is a heat warning high humidity, I was suppose to go out for my daily run when i reached the front of my door it was too hot, I changed my mind, so apart from the 30 seconds I took to realize it was too hot to go for a run mid afternoon I was home all day checking on my email for the code. My phone rang twice only and it was my mom calling home to say she wants to be picked up coz it's too hot for her to bus home, and my dad went to get her. So I was home like 99% of the day.
By the way I tried calling their toll free number it was busy, I stuck my phone on auto re-dial for as long and as often as I possibly can which was BUSY signal the whole time until I finally got fed up and filed a dispute.

2 hours later i was calling their toll free alot but i should of heard call waiting and if i missed that they should of hit my answering machine.
Have used Shattered Crystal ALOT and never had a problem with them ever they do however require speaking to you on the phone and asking you some questions before they will send you a code through email.So if you gave them the wrong number or mistyped it and they could not reach you by phone that would be the reason.
I know the first time I ordered off them I got a call about 15 mins later asked me some questions then mailed my codes right after.
Same thing happened to my friend some months ago.

Can u recommend a site that's not gonna not give u the code and tell u your banned if u file a dispute due to their non response?
I just really wanna buy a game time card with my paypal money didn't wanna use my credit card.
I filed the dispute because I wanted to get my money back so I can go search for a new place to buy a game time card.
Not american sites, sorry. Acutally I only know brazilian gamecard websites.

I have used Shattered cyrstal many times to get GTC's for Eve-online. The first time they call you to confirm that it is you that is ordering the gtc and not someone else. You need to ensure the phine number that you gave was accurate. Also since you were trying to call they may not have been able to call you. They also have a online help if you go to shatteredcrystal.com and you can chat with someone from thier help desk. Just some more info. If you get this straight can you post in the forum's to let people know.
To be honest i didn't expect the type of reply i got, I would of been more than happy with "Sorry we are working on it you're code will arrive in 2 more hours" Or refund my payment and verify if there is a mistake somewhere and correct it with me or whatever. Instead I feel like a dumbass for trying their service to begin with.
Check out ebay for time cards through Paypal. Or, Paypal has a list of vendors who accept paypal somewhere on the site. Dig through the "video games" section
LOL, the first thing you do when you aren't satisfied is file a dispute? Wow smart move.. why didn't you at least try contacting them... as a seller customers like you deserve the blacklisting.

Dude, check ebay out. Also, with NCSoft ANY NCSoft game timecard will work to recharge ANY game. Just thought I'd toss that out.
I note that after a short time you had the phoneon autodial to let yu get access to the phone at there place when it was free. Is it possable that noone could call you while your phone was doing this?
You're right I did use auto-redial, but it was also on speakerphone and I had call waiting, if I managed to miss the beep it goes to my answering machine, there might be a small possibility they hit the answering machine and refused to leave a message?

I am Michael Eikenberry, the CSR which e-mailed the above complaintant. As you can see by that post this person was blacklisted in our store, what you cannot see however is why.
He says something about waiting 7 hours however the order date is as follows:

Now I'm not too good with military time, but that looks like it was about 3 PM to me. Further more, the dispute was opened within minutes, even after I recieved this e-mail from the customer:

As you can see, you are receiving only half the story. As for the refund, looking things up in PayPal I see this:

Obviously this customer is failing to tell entire truths, or has not taken the time to look at the facts.

Ahh i see he i was about to tell him that most people dont leave messages with answering machines when they are working in a job where they make a lot of phonecalls every day.

You know what, I emailed this guy and told him how messed up it was he ripped someone off and was going to report him to the BBB. I received and email back explaining he didn't tell the whole story in less than an hour. THEN, the guy comes on here to explain himself which is fantastic. I now have a lot of respect for the man and his company. The OP can go tell his lies somewhere else. Patience is a virtue.
