Female Greenskins?

As a long time orc player in any game I am a bit worried. Currently playing WoW with my gf and both of us are orcs. And of course we want to keep that up in WAR, but I cannot seem to find any info if greenskins can be famale at all. As gf refuses to play a male char this might lead to rough "discussions" here in our castle about what to play, if at all. hehe
So if anyone have any info, please share.

Female Greenskins don't exist. Greenskins come from Mushrooms. There will be Female Chaos and Dark Elves however and you both can team up even if you are different races. Mythic has said it takes about 10 hours of gameplay before a normal player will be able to go to the other regions. Your GF will have to be a male if she wants to play a Greenskin.
Warhammer Lore has no female greenskins, they are a form of alien fungi from outer space and reproduce by releasing spores, wich grow into more orecs, goblins and squigs.
Really there are no male or female Greenskins... just greenskins.

be thankful dwarves are getting women models, with the exception of blood bowl cheerleaders they don't have any women models on the table top.
You are forgetting Dwarf Queen Helgar from one of the campaing packs GW released on the 80-90s

I wonder if most girls going to boycott WAR, don't think it will get at all as much female players as WoW sadly. Too much focus on WAR and a producer yelling WAR WAR don't appeal to them much.
Still need to convince the GF to drop WoW for WAR, and this anti female thing is not helping.

Well you can't deny that Greenskins don't look male.
They don't look androgyn at all... Squigs maybe, yes ^_^
But both Goblins and Orcs look very very VERY male.
AND they call themselves "Da Boyz"
But yeah, it's simply the Lore, basically it's fairly...realistic...meaning for example Chaos Chosen won't be able to be female at all, because a CHaos Chosen is a huge hulky Northmen, and I don't think anyone would want to see a 2,10m big, 200 pounds heavy, hairy North-Woman? *shudder*
Anti female? Youre actually calling the developers misogynists because Orcs are asexual? Jesus christ you hurt my brain. They even have a female dark elf beating the hell out of a male elf in a cinematic trailer. Try to educate yourself a little bit before you spout off these idiotic comments.
You say a producer yelling "WAR WAR" wont appeal to them, whats that supposed to mean? That women wont enjoy a war based pvp game? Well then what would appeal the them, a MMO about cooking and knitting? You accuse them of being antifemale and then fling around these bullshit stereotypes. Chaos, Empire, High Elves, Dark Elves, Dwarfs... will have female. That's 5 out of 6 races. If you ''boycott'' WAR because they don't have female Orcs (which is in their lore), I call you freak. On a side note, THEY ARE ORCS for god sake, who cares if you can't be a female orc?
Besides...don't think that real Warhammer Orcs would look ANYWHERE close to WoW Female Orcs/Trolls...

Greenskins will always stay as they're planned to be in this game, no females.
Just either suck it up and be a "male" Orc, or roll another race.
It's the painful dichotomy of hidebound lore vs marketability.
Here's a real life example: My wife is a long time vet of DAoC and got me involved in it. When the new race of minotaur (or whatever they are called, I could write a really long post about the use of minotaurs in fantasy but that would just become a rant and nobody wants that) were introduced she decided to play one. As did I. The DAoC minotaur are all males. This only slowed my wife for a second. She gave her cow a girl's name and dyed the armour pink.
In DAoC, in the Realm of Midgard there is a gender restricted class, the Valkyrie, who are female only. I wouldn't call that an anti-male bias. I think it is historically unsound (DAoC is strange on that point, sometimes seeming to dig deep for a historical accuracy and then throwing it to the wind the next second) but it's a MMORPG, not history.
Now as for source material, or lore as the term seems to be on this post: WARHAMMER has a well developed lore for its realms, races, classes, etc., and that seems to be the sticking point. Over the years of development WH has changed the background on several of its realms, armies, et al. Bretonnia springs to mind immediately. We can look into the lore and determine that Greenskins are genetically asexual and infer that they therefor have no sexually based gender. Modern thought seems to differentiate between the sexual identity and the gender identity a great deal anyway. Based upon available evidence the Greenskins see themselves as masculine or male as a form of gender identity, but haven't any sexual notions whatsoever. Is this in any way relevant?
Yes and No. Why do we play? Do we tie our character identities into our personal identities? By answering those questions you might find the answer to the relevance of the Greenskin gender identity.
As a final note: Greenskins in WARHAMMER are categorically NOT the Orcs of WoW, of DnD, or of Tolkein. Among the many differences that make the WH Greenskin what it is is the sense of humour involved with the whole Greenskin concept. They are crude and crass. They are funny with amusing accents and a totally Greenskin perspective on life that doesn't match up to any of the other races/realms. If the WoW concept of the orc is your concept then I dare say that the WH Greenskins are not for you. Rest easy, there are other choices and a new player should explore those choices prior to making a hard and fast decision.
That said, a little wanton destruction and brutality may be just what the doctor ordered, and who does that better, with more reckless abandon and pure glee than Da Boyz?

The lore stays, please leave your political correctness at the door. If they did make female orcs they will balls it up (no pun intended).
If they want to please the majority they wont change a thing, because the majority is the fanbase they have had for nearly 25 years... and yes it's huge.

Many of us search for a game where pvp is central, but not everything. And WAR is what most are going for there. And I prefer a wide variety of players and not just d00d kiddies and pvp:ers. Game need many type of players to maintain the game. Just personal opinions though. But think WAR has a lot to gain by getting in players who like diffrent things ingame, crafters and all that kind of stuff.
Think of orcs like big angry mushrooms with swords and armor, and because their A-sexual, their a big pissed of lot of mushrooms who want to smash everything else because of a continual build up of sexual tension that is with them until they die, because only by dying do they "reproduce".
As for mythic being mysoginists, or even the GW staff being as such...is just nonsense. But then again maybe you want your GF to wear a chainmail bikini and absolutly degrade herself so all thats important is her body.

all i want is for the game to be more friendly outwards towards non pvp:ers and people who prefer doing other things than just "WAR WAR WAR KILL!!"
I really hope WAR is going to be a great game with many aspecs outside the pvp, even tho it all centers around the pvp. My point got lost due to my bad english it seems. And the fear I have and tried to show here is that we going to alienate ppl who are not PvP:ers at hearth, or are not 12 year olds who joins the game because its WAR WAR WAR KILL SLAY! Its not crafting online, its WAR ONLINE! WAR WAR. Hope i can get my point through. Sucks to be bad at english hehe.
I was actually very upset when I heard that they where going PVP strong. But then It occured to me that by focusing on PVP, their less likely to screw it up. Lets face it, PVE has an award winning Formula that predates video technology:
Kill monsters: EXP
Turn in quests: EXP
Explore: EXP
thats pretty much it. And the crafting in this game is supposed to be a strong factor that is affected by the PvP somewhat from what I remember from Podcasts (or at least I think). Its actually really cool, go look through the old podcasts to find crafting, its really neat looking and very promising.
But for a game thats strong on crafting, Id say hit up EQ2. Its got awesome crafting.

No problems with thine gf being an Orkizsh if she really feels like being the Bolt & the Brutal Da Boyz are in WAR. But--- The most girls i know have an Elven army. And Elven witches seem to be that HOT! Maybe you can better have two elven -- 10 hours of gameplay to find eachother in WAR could be boring -- and anyways the dark elven are good rogues and assassins and vicious spellcasters of dark magic.
But if you both like Orkz then have it, they are the most Asexual and Brutal race of the Universe!

*gazes confused like* .... LOL omg...its not anti female at all! Its LORE!! LORE!! I'm a female and I still fully plan to play a greenskin i could care less if my toon is female or not. If your girlfriend is that persnikity maybe she should play one of the other races.
btw if you read all the information & watch the podcasts available on war its chocked full of PVE content. Although the benefits of Realm vs Realm and the PVP scenarios are better at end game PVE is not getting the shaft at all. Infact PVE'ers contributions help towards the total WAR effort for your faction so its all good.
