You should only feel threatened by AoC if your pay check depends on the success of a different game. The fact that fans want other games to do poorly is ridiculous.

The WAR forums have it's share of AoC fanboi naysayers, that make pretty unfounded statements about how the devs won't deliver on things that they have already shown in video blog footage, and talked about at conventions, interviews, etc. I guess the saying that "WAR is everywhere" is true. There are fanbois everywhere, and AoC fanbois are no different. As for AoC grabbing a large size of the market, that's just not going to happen any time soon.

A fanboi is someone who will hype their game no matter the evidence one way or the other to make sure their game grabs population.

Also It does seem odd as far as the hype, I mean after all WAR does seem to = WOW2 with constant zergs.

That doesn't make much sense. The marketing grabs the population & also how much money the game took to develop because more money = better game, just like the best athletes get paid lots of money, the developers get paid for their skill too.

I am not a fanboi of any game, but I still don't have much faith in AoC.

Been hearing rumors that their much hyped combat system is not working out "quite as expected".

I played daoc for over 4 years. I know exactly how mythic runs, more particularly the senior dev team which is tasked with Warhammer right now. and in all honesty, mythic does not deserve another chance. Anyone that got over rr5 in daoc and has at least half a brain would agree on that.

I would rather not list the things that will lead to AoCs downfall because I really don't feel like starting a flamefest that starts whenever someone criticizes a hyped game (WAR, AoC, and anything else).

Then why do you think that FunCom deserves a second chance? Anarchy isn't exactly a fan favorite either, nor is it anything revolutionary, or for that matter, good.

personaly i think the fighting style of AOC is dull from the videos i have seen anyway

Sorry if I'm CAPTAIN OBVIOUS IN THE LAND OF IGNORANT POSTS! but your going to search for faults in games if you are a fan of another game, the fact that you would waste the time to go looking for them and then posting flames on that games board is just astounding to me but to each his own. I mean AoC I think will be great, but thats my opinion you don't see me flaming on WAR or WoW even though I dislike them.

AoC is appealing to PvP players that want conflict with everyone else at any excuse they can find, real or imaginary.

Agreed. I enjoy most MMOs to some extent. And since I am a gamer like the rest of you, I support them as a whole, im not rooting for anybody to fail.

WoW > MMO Genre

If I had to choose to be a PvE fanboi, it would be WoW. As for PvP, I've only tried EQ2, WoW, LotRO. And PvP in those games are terrible, so I won't vouch for them. Some of you AoC fans need to lighten up about other fanbois too, start being an apologist and stop being a carebear.

Also - from what I read on these forums from the slew of awfully depressed posters, is that every game in the history of MMO's has failed horrible because of some awful flaw... except [Enter first MMO here]

I think AoC will deliver - as will WAR. Depends on your taste. There is plenty of the MMO market to go around.

I'm a big pve player, and i love to do pve.(scored a 13% killer on the bartle test) However, i also like the option for good team based pvp. AoC has impressed me in so many ways, and i have a lot of confidence i'm going to be playing it for years to come.
