Nope, abandonware means they give up all license to the game. A game can be dead for years, but until the company decides otherwise, it is still their IP.
Imperator, despite the weird setting...these devs freaking rock. Just reading their design docs give me orgasms! I mean, they where totally rocking and the game would have swoop the world, despite not been a medieval fantasy setting.
I really don't know what happen when they purchase Warhammers rights. The purchase itself was a good move. But somewhere, it is just as if they lost their soul, their interest, their motivation...or as if the bright peoples behind Imperator where kick aside for some reasons. It went from a AAA team to...a team I am not even sure I would even bother to try the game anymore despite the franchise. If I could like and enjoy PvP, it would be with Warhammer a lot easier...but these devs understand sooo little compare to the Imperator team.
It is a little as if, all the good devs where working on Imperator, then they buy Warhammer, they bring the alpha dominators in and he shows everyone who is the boss, at the expense of the game. Gimme back my Imperator devs with a full right to developp a specific server rule (I don't know who they are, what they do or whatever, but I do know they are not the leading team of WAR, that is much obvious, give them full authority on a specific server rule with the goal to appeal to PvE players), and see them freaking outdo the remaining of the servers in no time!
Other then that, Mythica was looking quite cool, but was needing some polishing...a lot of rework, but I just love the basics.

Classic EQ1 with expansions added in the historically accurate timeframe, not the joke of a progression server where uber guilds rush to constantly open new expansions within one month of each other.
That would give me approximately 3 1/2 years of quality play time until Planes of Power which started the downfall of EQ1.
I think a few things are about to catch up with what Mythica looked like though. The style of GnH looks similar to it, with the being thrown around and crap(not the minion system).
Pretty much the animations looked really cool in it.
UXO, cause it was bringing on a new combat system. It looks like it was different than AoC's combat, in a good way. I think AoC's combat will be good, but still lacking for what I really want.
I'd like to try out that ultima online - and i know it's still kicking about, but i'm talking about playing it when it was at its peak of popularity...
And yes i know that means plenty of ganking, but to me i enjoy that aspect/danger of a world.
Otherwise, the MMORPG plan for Shadowrun, to be resurected (microsoft droped the plans for the MMORPG after a short stint in development and decided that we all wanted a FPS instead!)

Same here dude. Also, I wouldn't mind seeing earth and beyond come back.
I'd have to go with Horizons #1 (for all practical purposes, is dead).
UO 2 for sure, and Dragon Empires.
Never even heard of Seed and one of the others listed.
I'd definitely would like to see AC2. It's still my favorite fantasy MMO of all time.
"Africa", if it's dead. It's a little hard to tell what's going on with that one.
Dragon Empires was my choice. Dead before it ever had a chance to see the light of day.
I voted ultima online 2. But what i really want to se return is swg.

Dragon Empires.
Legends of Kesmai. Just for Nostalgia. It was the first online game I ever played.
Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
Final Fantasy 7
I would have to say a debugged version of the early 1999 Ultima Online.
Of course it wouldn't ever be brought back, but those were the best times in gaming ever.
MMOer since 1997. Beta Tester for UO, DAOC, SB, PS, AC, and WoW. MMO Pro.
Earth and Beyond never deserved to die, IMO.
None. MMOs in their graves should stay there if you ask me.
Citizen Zero could of been sweet.
---------------
Tested over a 115+ games since 1997.
Currently Playing:
Played(Retired): AOL NWN(91-95), UO, EQ1/2, DAoC, CoX, Lineage1/2, SWG(Pre CU/NGE), Planetside, Anarchy Online, FFXI, AC, Vanguard, D&D, AoC, DCUO, Rift, Eve, others
AC2

Planetside - Only 1 server - F2P - $5 / month for Core Combat access.
Have to vote first for AC2 if another company besides Turbine would run it. Second choice is for The Realm, best side scroller MMORPG I ever played.
Mythica or UXO

SWG/EQ/Planetside
DAMN YOU SONY!!
Imperator looked cool too.
Classic EQ, that is the first trilogy.
Motor City Online.
Earth and Beyond. We need more Sci-Fi.
Thrones of Chaos or Mourning or whatever else it was called. I would have liked to try the family inheritance concept.
True Fantasy
