This game is going to be awesome!  The Roman theme is a great break from the way overdone Fantasy elves/dwarves thing.  This is certainly the game I'm looking forward to the most now.  The community is definitely the best of any I've been a part of and the devs have been super about listening and responding/acting on things we say.

Hope to see you all in Rome:)

Any MMO that gives you the ability to higher NPCs to do the job another player could do pretty much gets a big no thanks from me. But I'm sure all the "SOLO ONLY" people will eat this up.

I've been looking forward to GnH for a very, very long time now.  I'm going to get it for sure, although I am still skeptical about how good it is going to be once I get my hands on it.  It looks amazing though, the graphics are extremely detailed as well as the animations.  I really hope the combat system is fun and exiting, as well as functional.  The WoW combat system is a bit too simple to me, it's too "slash, slash / cast, cast, etc....etc....which gets old after a while.  The guys creating this game seem to want to create something more fresh and exiting with the combat system, and I hope to all ends that they succeed and blow us all away with it.  Basically I just want this game to hurry up and come out!  I'm looking to take this or Warhammer Online as my WoW replacement, as nothing as of yet has come close to being able to.

In response to the previous poster, the hired minions in this game are by no means designed to replace actual players.  If you read up on this game a bit you'll find that out.

yeah do a little research before assuming this.  Because it's not entirely the case.  There are going to be several mobs that  will easily kill a soloer.

Yes yes, we all know Vanguard is not gonna be a SoE game and they are just the publishers.... oh... wait!

I guess you know nothing about the relationship between Brad McQuaid and SoE.  Brad McQuaid is a sellout.  I wouldn't be so quick to label Perpetual Entertainment sellouts without any backup evidence.

you DO realize that I was being humorous right?

I mean, that is what the Vanboys were saying all along "no, vanguards is not a SoE game, it will never be, swear to God" etc etc.

    Look where they are now?

I just liked the ironic similarities there. I honestly hope it does not end that way, but... is Star trek online also to be published by Soe? if yes, how long do you think before SoE offer them couple billions to sell? that is their policy it seems. first publish, then acquire. they have done it multiple times and not only with mr McQuaid.

Vanguard was a lot more intertwined with SOE from the start than most people admit. Hence the billing being done by SOE and station pass access from the start.

While some people still scoff at it, they are in fact just publishers for G&H. I mean come on, if Disney uses Platform Publishing, they must know what they are doing as I am sure Disney is a well enough known name to do their own. Don’t look for P.E. to sell out anytime soon.

And yes, I will be playing.

This game looks nuts....and I'm not worried about SOE's involvement at all. I mean sure they may have ruined games before but PE is keeping full control of their game so I see no reason to be upset.

I will be playing this game without a doubt in my heart.

It doesn't look very appealing to me.

for some reason the idea of controlling multiple characters never appealed to me

but hell if it is a deep, well polished, high quality game i will most certainly play it

I'll try the beta to see what the game has to offer.

Going to play it. Think they minion system will add alot to the gameplay. Only thing im worried about is that the alt playing (yeah im a big fan of playing alts) wil suck because you will just change the set of minions around your character and be like on of the minions of the group that you played before

I absolutely love the concept of incorporating Greek/Roman mythology into an MMOG.  However, I am really skeptical of how GnH will carry that out.  So far it actually just looks like a Fantasy MMOG but with dragons being replaced by hydras.  I'm holding out hope this one will prove me wrong.  I'm just gonna wait until enough people get their hands on it and review it before I decide to dive on in :P

I just feel "meh" towards this MMO... maybe if it comes out ASAP (before AOC) it'll get a following

Currently messing with - Requiem Online

I don't know...something about you and your four minions fighting Joe and his four minions seems kind of lame to me. I'll try the free trial.

  • AbstruseAbstruse Member Posts: 22

Yes, I will be trying GnH .  It is reported to look good and run well on midrange systems.  The minion system makes the game much more accessible for solo play when my time is limited, and minions will eliminate a lot of the problems associated with groups and raids.  An environment related to human history and mythology sounds good -- i'm sick of high fantasy and cartoon graphics.

I'm a bit worried about the pace of combat, especially if those fancy animations are running too much.

I'm not worried about SOE being involved because they are only publishing the game -- they have no investment or control in PE.

Your ignorant if you think that GnH minions are anything like guildwars henchman there´s no comparison. henchman are canonflesh no customization at all where the minions of GnH are fully customisable have there on scripted personalities and there gear is changable.

GnH = PvE   AoC = PvP ...different crowd for each game.

It's primarily a PvE game where those minions work together not against each other.  I find it interesting because the of all the different combos of minions you can have, the possibilities are pretty big.  And like the other guy said it has more depth than Guild Wars henchman.
