Just go back and play the game. If it draws you in again good if not then just move on.
As for the guy who just keeps spouting that everyone who plays WoW is dumb, well I personally find that people who make broad generalizations like that are themselves somewhat lacking in the intelligence department!
People who make broad generalizations are dumb? Wow, man. Just wow.
Obviously you didn't get the humor of the post and the point I was trying to make!
Of course I got the humor. I thought your post was hilarious.
lol, maybe I'm the one who is less than intelligent!

Maybe you're just playing too much WoW. It have tendency make me stoopid if play too long. Need play other game make it go away.
i'm back and playing again but its not as much fun as it was way back when i started but like others said there just isn't anything else out there.
and don't believe the troll it has improved alot, i RARELY see any spam, right when i quit it was horrible. been back almost 2 weeks and i can count the number of gold seller spam on 1 hand. before the crack down i couldn't count the number of spam i got in an hour on both and AND feet..lol shows they care and i have reported offensive name before and the gm literally got on and changed it in less then 5 minutes, might have been a slow day hell i was even surprised it was done that fast. i had a probelm with a quest was quest to gather fel-reaver parts and spawn one to fight and it was glitched Gm got back to me in like 10 minutes i was expecting a reply the next day or so and then he spent around 1/2 an hour with me trying to get it to work.(the quest was fixed in the next patch).
i'm sure it varies from server to server but i've noticed you get better communities on PVE servers than PVP, PVP seems to attact the worst people and if you play it anyway you start thinking the same and just pissed off all the time, no fun.
best server i've played on is Stormrage PVE alliance side, played horde too there was some really good horde players but alot transfered off (had a server split awhile back)and horde stormrage is almost dead, wich makes for a VERY bad auction house.
like some one else said just try it for yourself and see how you like it.
and if you're like Bono just out looking for reasons to complain about (name violations but nothing offensive) you'll find them in any game.
and if you're like Bono just out looking for reasons to complain about (name violations but nothing offensive) you'll find them in any game.
Read my posts carefully (if you need help with the big words, just ask). I mention the name violations not just to complain, but to point out how stupid some of the players can be, and how useless the GMs are. Within minutes of logging in, I found four people who either couldn't read or couldn't follow a very simple set of rules. The character levels indicated that the staff either doesn't care about their own policies, or are ineffective at enforcing them. Yes, you'll find them in any game. In over a year of playing City of Heroes and Everquest 2, I've seen a dozen or so names that violated the naming policies. In World of Warcraft, I spotted four in half an hour.
If there was a point where the spam was worse than it is now, I'm glad my account was inactive during that time. I quit playing a little over a year ago, and recently came back to give the game another shot. I see ten times as much spam now as I did then, and thirty times what I see in CoH and EQ2. I've never seen an advertiser in City of Heroes, and in EQ2, I see an average of one a week. In World of Warcraft, I see roughly one every hour.
Like I said, it's a fun little game, but it has a lot of problems that seriously detract from the enjoyment. They may not bother everybody, but the original poster wanted reasons why he should or should not play the game, and there's no reason he shouldn't be reminded of these issues. It's terribly sad when any criticism of the game is accused of being a troll.

Well bono, I think its pretty cool actually that you did make a toon and try.
I guess I cant refuet your finding other then maybe bad timing?
and your right I guess i have a knack for not running into such stuff. I never get spam letters, and never get invites to parties and I also nevre use the LFG or /who at all..
Guess part of it is Im in a great guild and 99% of the time Im in a party with my guildemates either PVPing or questing
But ppl Ive met on both ally and horde sides are fun, intelligent funny, good ppl that have a great time.
i guess it comes to I dont look for bad things and enjoy the good...
its the cup is half empty/full thing.
I sincerly hope you find a game and community taht you love the way I love Kael'thas and Lost Souls.

It's been an interesting couple of pages read. thanks for everyone who posted.
It's perfectly fine to have an argument. Just shows that you are both pasionate about the game. Nothing wrong there, It's just your passion comes from different perspectives.
with regards to 'dumb' people: dumb is purely relitive. Ive been called 'dumb' a million times becuase i usually have lots of tpoys (see what i did there?) and becuase i can't spell to save my life... anyways,
I dont think you can generalise a game with millions of players in such a way. I thank you for your contribution, when i go back I will defo be keeping my mouse ready on the ignore button.
Gold Farmers/botting/etc: Ive only played one game where i have not seen this to an extent where ive gotten upset about it (I.E in about 2 years of playing ive seen like 10 botters. all who were dealt with) It's part and parcel of MMORPG's and obviously they are trying to deal with it, but with so many servers and so many people siging up, im sure its a difficult task. One the flip side. if they doubled their efforts (and cash injection) would they remove them from the game completely? unlikely.
GM's: I played Matrix online (*sigh*) and the average GM response time was about 2-3 days! I played Ryzom and ive had a ticket responsed to and fixed (on several occasions) within 10 minutes. reason? community size (yes, at one point MO did have lots of people playing.) On WoW a GM must get so many tickets a day. He/she would have to prioritise, i would prefer for a GM to say "thanks i got your ticket check out www...." within 20 minutes than for no response for days. If you were a GM and you had 10 tickets, you have to chose which ones needs most attention. If theres a level 48 player who's name is not within the EULA and a player who is being greived/harassed, which one would you deal with first?
anyways, i rambeled on a bit too much.
Back to work!

I'd call it good timing on your part. It was pretty much what I've experienced on my usual servers. And it is confined to the starting zones and major cities, anywhere a spammer can get to with a brand-new character on a trial account. I don't see it when I'm out questing either, but as soon as I'm back in town, the spamming starts. I'm finding that Thunder Bluff has very few spammers, probably because it's harder to reach with a brand-new character.
And a good guild can serve as a layer of insulation against the larger community. Surround yourself with intelligent people, and the stupid people fade into the background. I may have to find myself a guild if I want to alleviate some of the frustration.
I think WoW is a good game, which is why I absolutely hate seeing it tarnished by the idiocy I originally posted about. It's a victim of its own popularity, but most of the problems could be solved by increasing the number of staff. Unfortunately, that would probably cost more money than it brought in, so we're unlikely to see it happen.
Have fun on your server, and I'll do what I can to have fun on mine. There's no real difference between the two.

don`t play it
1. Bad gameplay
2. No fun until high lvl
3. The costs are to high (40,- euro a month that`s 160 for a year)
4. Guildwars is better
