    Pirates, cause it's different.

If SoE hooked up with pirates then that is defiantly off my list.

AoC- probably the only one on this list worth giving a damn about. Well, the most 'promising' at least. Especially with 'talk' of a FFA PvP server in the making.
ToS- don't you mean TcoS; otherwise I dunno what you mean. TcoS offers nothing interesting to me.
Gods and Heroes- nothing interesting here.
Pirates of the burning sea- too bad SOE got involved. Enjoy the mess-up this will end up being. A shame really because the PvP system didn't sound too bad.
Tabula rasa- not seen much of this one, cannot comment.
    And anything else im missing.

I'm waiting on Darkfall personally as my pick for 2007,but also waiting for Perfect World English client (soon!) and possibly WAR with  my Darkfall guild. Am also waiting for Fiesta Online to enter CB2.

I'm looking forward to the free trials for all the games listed. (When the trials are available.) I have NEVER subscribed to a game without a trial first.

Pirates of the Burning Sea for sure.

And anyone that thinks it's going to fail because of SOE will be mistaken.

But if you really hate SOE that much, just wait 6 months, and when PotBS is still going strong, then you can give it a try.

GNH, and RO2.. my laptop has to do me for a year or so, and i think conan and warhammer will be too much for it

I don't think any are great. It's more like pick the best of the worst.

Potbs-low realism naval sim is too basic

AoC-no hands on reviews of its main content, steep learning curve, high system requirements

    Tcos-pve only?

tabula rasa-looks like with new deal with sony this is gonna be geared for ps3,auto-target,auto aim in a fps type game.no pvp.

Gods and heros-solid engine, seems to be doing a somewhat modular release(otw) for NvN combat and some other features, moderate system requirements.

You and me both. Thats the pretty much the exact same for me, just finished up playing WoW, now I'm waiting on PW, Darkfall and WAR.  I had a look at Fiesta Online, didn't wow me but looked like a filler.  But also another game I'm waiting on, Aion.

My next big MMO commitment is going to be Age of Conan. After that it's more a matter of whether or not WAR can tear me away from it when it comes out. I'm moderately interested in Gods and Heroes, Pirates of the Burning Sea, and Tabula Rasa; however, I doubt I'll end up subscribing to any of them.

Funny to see people pick "Darkfall" as a pick for 2007 when it hasn't even hit beta status yet.

Maybe they misread it as "2017"?

You might want to research a little on each game before you spew out stuff you have no idea what your talking about.

    1) Tabula Rasa is going to have PVP

    2) Every MMO has auto-targeting, it all depends on the die rolls you get, their not  all a FPS. In the case of TR, they have said many times that the game is NOT a FPS.

    3) I haven't heard of any PS3 deal with TR and I follow all info on the game and haven't seen any thing on a PS3 port deal. Which if there was what would it matter, its a PC game too.

Any way, back to OP, Tabula Rasa is going to be my pick for this year and next year I'll be trying out Stagate Worlds.

  • InfranticInfrantic Member Posts: 30

I'm gonna have to vote for AoC, for 2007.

Tho I am looking more forward to WAR, I'm gonna have to try out AoC :)

sony just made a deal with ncsoft to get more games on the ps3.

TR pvp was an add on after thought and spotty at best. There claiming more otw.

Auto targeting in a sci-fi game is retarded imo. You dont have to spot enemies you just spam next enemy button.

most upcoming sci-fi,post apocalyptic,or modern mmos have evoled to at least faction vs faction real time spotting, aiming, firing. Auto-Targeting in those genres is just a care-bare stroller at this point in time.

    What looks good IMHO are

    Aion

Fallen Earth - although I don't think this one is going anywhere, they seem to be stuck for the last few years.

Tabula Rasa - Just because Richard Garrott is bold enough to slap his name on the title, I gotta see how it turns out. I hope his ego isn't writing checks his talent can't cash.

    Fury sounds interesting.

WAR looks like it might be fun to kick around in.

The rest, to many SOE published games, they will all have issues, thats just the way it goes with SOE games. Darkfall is the equivelent to an urban myth. Conan, although I'm interested, I don't have any confidence in the dev's ability to deliver a quality product.

There's no way on earth I will be able to try all those games lol.........not unless they all a trainwrecks and only need a few days to see that. Free trials are your friend.

PotBS is something i will definetly check out.

WAR only if AOC becomes to boring for me until War release

    In future

    Fallen Earth

You like my style of gaming! I'm waiting for Perfect World English which looks like it has good customization and interface. 2007 is more than half over and all I've played is LotRO 8^(

PotBS:  Looks pretty interesting, naval combat, pirates, crafting, lots of cool features to look forward to.

GnH:  Looks to be shaping up nicely, good combat, minion system is looking good, Rome, fun gameplay instead of a race to endgame, tons of potential with expansions, pvp and crafting can't fail if players tell the devs what they want.

If those can't do it for me, WAR and AoC don't look appealing or that interesting... so possibly Tabula Rasa or TCoS, depending on what i hear about them over the next few months.  Maybe Huxley.

    WOW, just WOW.

All of the info you just gave is your opinion only, it has no baring on the state of the game or actual facts. Show me the proof that TR is going to be ported over to PS3 and I wont say another word about that subject. And your take on auto-targeting in Sci-fi games being a care-bear stroller is ludicrous at best. Far be it me to slap some one in the back of the head cuz they're being an jacka**. I'm sure you'll think of some thing to come back with but I could care less.

so... you calling SWG, KOTOR, KOTOR 2, FALLOUT retarded?

Well, they all had auto targeting.

You can't say what the pvp in tabula rasa is.... to me it sounds they from the start had planned to have it right where it is. Don't forget UO had plenty of pvp and it was made by Lord British (now General British).

and why do you care if it comes to ps3 or not? AoC is coming to xbox 360 but I do not see you crying for that?

AoC : Real time combat, large scale sieges, mounted combat, tactical combat where terrain also has a large factor, generally awesome PvP and in contrary to what somebody here said, it's requirements aren't very big. They'ved stated, that if you can runs oblivion pretty fine, then you'll be alright with AoC.

I would go with AoC, but I don't think that will be a game that most of my friends will be able to run smoothly, if at all. Right now, I'm banking on Gods and Heroes. It's still missing some things that I think they shouldn't wait on, and I'm not a class/level fan, but it looks solid so far, and should run well enough on a mid ranged system. It's a toss up for me, because the things they plan on I'm really interested in, I'm just hesitant about post launch content.

I'd have to vote for PotBS. I've been looking forward to this for over two years, following it closely. The extra time they've had has been used wisely, by the looks of it, and I expect great things. I'd say next up would be Tabula Rasa. I'm yearning for a good Sci-Fi MMO. I'd put Aion down as a third place choice.
