I think mmo's are racing without any form of quality of life,
Many mmo's are releasing the world as a game, and not a world. Which is fine by all standards, but still it's always nice to look into the sky and birds flying in formation, or see small grass hoppers on the plains, I miss the oglops of FFXI, wish they'd of kept those.
The Race involves the new and upcomming MMO's. If you do not believe there is a race then you need to open your eyes. Many games are going to be released late 2007 and will take big chunks of players from every other game and distributing more evenly. Once B2p and F2p games start to come out, you will notice how much WoW and all other P2p games will soon switch. Take ArchLord as an example.
By any chance are you related to Jackdog?
Continue to pay monthly and when a good game comes out for free or even cheaper. Have fun realizing how much money and time you've wasted.
So all this is because you are to cheap to pay for games. I get it now.
All the better, have fun in your dumb little free grindfests.
Well, hell. Let's just make stuff up. The Color Blue (37%): How much of this color does the game have? Not enough blue can spell disaster for a game. Blizzard introduced Draenei and they sold millions of TBC boxes. Auto Assault didn't have any blue people, and it failed. Ears (26%): Look at the frickin' ears in Lineage and WoW! They're the longest I've ever seen! People like big ears, and big ears are more important than solid gameplay. Again, poor Auto Assault didn't put any long-eared races into their game, and look what happened. Vanguard is barely alive, thanks to a few longer-than-average ears, but the game would be kicking ass if they'd taken a hint from WoW's Elves. Prepositions (18%): City of Heroes, World of Warcraft - both doing quite well. Auto Assault, Vanguard - not doing so well. I guarantee you if they'd been named "Assault of Auto" and "World of Vanguard," they'd have bajillions of players right now. Dwarves (12%): I like Dwarves. Of all the fantasy races, Dwarves are my favorite. Since my opinion is fact, Dwarves are more important than gameplay. Auto Assault didn't have Dwarves, and it failed. PUT DORFS IN TEH GAME AND U WIL MAKE TEH MONEYS! Box Size (17%): As I look across my shelf of game boxes, I see that WoW and EQ2 have average-sized boxes. It's not surprising that I play those two more than any other MMOs. Guild Wars has a slightly larger-than-average box, and I stopped playing that a long time ago. I bought The Burning Crusade via digital download - NO BOX - and I don't like it. I quit playing my level 60 warrior, even though he was a dwarf, because I just didn't like Outlands. I can't get into my Draenei character, even though he's blue, and there's no way I'll play a Blood Elf, no matter how long their ears are. Box size matters!
I know this all adds up to 110%, but that just proves how important these factors are! These will decide the future! Small-boxed, short-eared, non-blue games have no place in the world. Some may be having a moderate amount of success, but they will fail in a few years! And if they don't, you'll al have forgotten this post by then, and I'll be long gone, so nobody will tell me I was wrong.
Bro, I cant stop laughing!!! Keep the comedy coming! Very creative!

Ok, sweet, but that hasn't answered my question...at all.
Further more now I feel I reason to disprove your bullshit. First of all WoW is at the peak of the MMORPG for active subscribers and guess what it's P2P. Woah damn guess your reasoning is just 100% incorrect and I only had to reference one game.
F2P will never get anywhere, why? The budget, you need money to expand and improve your game, just coming out with new item malls items to sludge your players to buy more crap isn't going to get your player base any happier. Soon they will realize they are being milked and leave.
So live on with your beliefs, but the top MMORPGs will always be P2P, quality matters and F2P will never have the quality a P2P game will have.
Nuff said.

They get money with item malls. Not every free game has an item mall, but they can purchase items and gold. And liek guildwars has done. They have B2p games and release a new one with teh option of buying it every few months. This makes even more money than dumb time cards. P2p will not go anywhere. Soon most games will all stop P2p.
If a new game is to come out P2p it wont be worth it. So many already pay for other games taht they refuse to leave even to try it out. What are you going to do? pay for 3 games at once? P2p limits you to only playing one game. Im sure its probably teh only one you play. It will eventually take over your life.
Companies make money off of advertisements. And lots of money. Item malls make money, gold selling makes money, and so does B2p. Having all of this profits everyone and if you think a b2p game does not have the budget, open your eyes.
Free games and B2p games will prevail. P2p will fall, just wait. I stand by what i have said and i will continue to say what i say. Not sure if you get out often but the word around the world is "The best things in life are free".
Did he really just use Archlord as a game for his defense?
Archlord has decent graphics but HORRIBLE GAME PLAY! There is no depth to the game either.
First off, you must be 12...16 tops. P2P has been around for a while, long before WoW and LoTR. It's been around since Ultima Online(1996) and then P2P MMOs really blew up with Everquest(1999). So P2P has been around for 11yrs and show no sign on stopping until something drastic changes that course.
What will it take to stop P2P all together? It will take an actual good game that is B2P that has content, decent graphics for its time, and more. Guild Wars 2 just might make a big splash when it comes out. It's completely different from GW in the fact that it has a persistent world and it's going to have NO MONTHLY FEE. Now if GW2 can deliver the content and more of GW, have good PvP(which from what I read sounds great), and more it might just shake the foundation of such games as WoW.
But to say P2P is a thing of the past is retarded. In fact it's retraded. People will pay a monthly fee as long as the game is worth it. However, if GW2 can deliver that and more with its non-monthly fee and become more popular than WoW and the other MMOs that will be out at that time, then I think future developers might go in a different direction.
Also graphics WILL get someones attention first, but after they read about the game play of an MMO on the site and don't like what they read and then even beta test it and dont like what how the game play is, the game WILL DIE.
But if another MMO with not as pretty graphics(I'm not saying shitty Shadowbane graphics but maybe something along the lines of the new models for Everquest) is released and has the best damn gameplay ever seen in any MMO, then that game will do far better than the game with better graphics.
Graphics will catch someones attention, yes. However, gamers are more lenient with how a games graphics are but will not bend for shitty gameplay and THAT IS FACT!
A new P2P MMO WILL BE WORTH IT if it has great game play and decent graphics for its time. $15 is not a lot in the grand scheme of things. And you can still have an active account on the current P2P mmo you have and try the new P2P MMO for the first FREE MONTH! After that people usually make a decision to either go with the new game if it has something better to offer than the current one they are playing . If it doesn't , they don't and they aren't out $15 cuz they used the free month to test out the game.
There is not another mmo co makign more thab blizzard with wow. And you miss the fact that people spend 15 $ a month, every month and thats EVERYONE playing. Which is a ton.
WoW and lotr are only successful as of now - this makes you want 16 now, that or recently looking at western mmos. or MMos in gerneral. DAOC, UO, EQ, EVE, etc all successes.
edit- Its clearly obvious that the OP play asian mmos and thats about it . From his statements and his follow ups about archlord. (Which i betaed but it was bad)

I'm paying for three games right now. It used to only be two, but my brother and his fiancee, as well as some other old friends, got me back into World of Warcraft, and I wasn't going to give up EQ2 pr CoH. $45 a month is not a lot of money. If I order pizza two times a month instead of three, I have enough money to pay for another MMO. If I get a cup of normal coffee every day instead of a fancy-ass mochafrappalattochino, I have enough money to pay for two more MMOs.
When Warhammer Online comes out, I'll buy the box, play for 30 days, then decide if it's worth dropping one of my other subscriptions to play. So, yeah. I am going to pay for three games at once. I also have multiple magazine subscriptions, pay for multiple TV channels, and I don't eat the same kind of food every day. Crazy, isn't it?
Maybe they will be worth it. But i can garentee you right now, when the next best free games and B2p games come out you will see the numbers from WoW drop drastically. Once they drop far enough Blizzard will announce they will go F2p and any extra time cards will be turned into gold. Only until these games are beaten, will this happen. P2p will be past. B2p will be present. Once more and more games become B2p or F2p you will notice how they will chisel away at WoW until Blizzard breaks.
Its fien to not believe P2p will be a thing of the past. Thats natural. I could have told me 15 years ago VHS would never be a thing of the past and you wouldnt have believed me. The future brings change, and a mighty change it will be.

I think its pretty pathetic to lower the way you live just because you wanna pay for your accounts on games you dont play. Its like saying if you dont eat lunch for 3 days that pays for WoW. Are you really that addicted to play a computer game taht you would do that?

I'll be waiting for a nice full list because no matter what you put down i can easily counter it with blockbuster P2P MMORPGs that are coming out that will have loads of subscribers.

YOU HAVE NO PROOF TO BACK THIS UP! If someone told me that VHS was going to be obsolete after the first year of its release, hell yeah no one would believe it. DVD was non-existent then.
You spouting bullshit without having a specific number. Look at all those f2p and b2p "mmos" out there. If you added their player base all together they wouldn't come close to the 8million that WoW has. Include the other p2p mmos in that figure and the GAP GROWS BIGGER!
The only way one game will become popular than another is content and graphics. If a F2P or B2P can give better content and same or better graphics than any other game(p2p for your argument) then they will succeed.
However, every F2p and B2p MMO has horrible game play and sub-par graphics or decent graphics at best.
GW could be more successful if they hadn't made their whole world instanced. GW2 is fixing that problem and we will see how it fares.

Talk about fallacious statements.
"... when the next best free games and B2p games come out you will see the numbers from WoW drop drastically" WHy? Wows not even a top mmo on this site but still is the most successful mmo ever, if your looking at money. (After thats the point of the these mmos , not player base), still looking at player base 8 mill i s a lot. Still yahoo games might beat WOW for player base , but that doesn't make Yahoo games better.. just more people have played them.
Furthermore, people playing wow play it because its a good game they are not playing f2p games like GW because Wow offers them more ... GW is arguably the best f2p ever made. And you'll not see better for a while, but even if you do see some better games that are F2P they will not be better than p2p , because p2p games offer a lot of features that f2P games don't. Like content , and varied playing experience. Basically, f2p games are vapid and shallow.
"Once they drop far enough Blizzard will announce they will go F2p and any extra time cards will be turned into gold" - Wrong high class mmos that take massive loss in population server merge , and continue to charge people money and make money. This has been see again and again. That and blizz would need to lose like millions of players for this to happen and well their are too many wow fanboys to even think about this.
The next 3 good mmos coming out are all P2P so you'll have to beat them also, AoC , WAr, and PotBS (which will be smaller than the other two but a great mmo).
"I could have told me 15 years ago VHS would never be a thing of the past and you wouldn't have believed me." - No actually we would have, see we are not dumb , im not sure about you however. See atm i can tell you Dvds will be a thing of the past , so will blue ray, i can even say TV will be a thing of the past for one day it surly will. However, 15 years ago you must of thought (while you were like 1 or 2) wow VCRs will be around forever. (Like 8-tracks, rofl) .
- honestly You would have to be an idiot to think they would be around forever... and one to suggest that other people would think that. I only say this because this is one of the poorest least convincing fallacious statements i have ever seen made, its very sad.

First you say I don't play the games, then you say I'm addicted. Make up your mind already.
If you have to give up lunch for three days to play a game, I suggest you don't do it. I don't make sacrifices; I make tradeoffs. I pick my luxuries, and occasionally drop one in favor of another. If calling Domino's twice a month instead of three times a month is "lowering the way I live" then I have it pretty damn good, don't I?
I'm sorry if you have to go hungry in order to pay for MMOs. If it meant not eating (instead of eating luxury junk food less often), I'd skip the video games completely. Thankfully, I'm not in your situation.
I'm just going to throw this in here, about your 3rd post of the "iPod." I have an iPod Nano (new one, with the screen) I do not like using a mac nor do I like Mac (not my kind of OS at all, I still prefer using Windows for image / video editing). But Mac/Apple have their MP3 player out for years and it is (in my opinion now) the best. I was going to get a Creative Zen 30 gig but the battery dies very fast (as in unusable after 6-8 months) and the loading times are insanely high compared to the iPod.
Mac / Apple will be the leading MP3 seller and that's it. I will not spend $250 for an MP3 player that has terrible loading time and that has a battery that completely dies.
Now on topic: I have nothing to say... I didn't read your full post but from the comments it seems you are ranting and holding no data. I don't care... I just don't.
Edit for the above quote: I don't eat lunch anyway, the lines are way too long (both lines) and if I do eat the bell rings when I sit down (this has happened 3 times, so I said screw it). I just bring something to eat like a Nutrigran bar or something heh.

In May of 1994, Sony and Philips announced that they would be cooperatively developing a new high-density medium known popularly as Digital Video Disk (DVD) (Dwyer). This infant technology was to be the successor to compact disks (CD-ROM) for computers, and replace VHS tapes and laserdiscs in the entertainment industry. A disk the same size as a CD but with five to ten times the data capacity would be very useful indeed. The distribution of some large video games that would otherwise reside on a set of many CD’s would only require a single disk. DVD audio would be a great improvement over the already crystal clear and popular CD audio. Watching movies that would normally require you to flip sides on a laserdisc could live up to the same standards of quality, and far surpass them.
Even when this bit of info was released to the public, people didnt believe. Skeptics are everywhere. Dont turn into one. Anything can happen, anything can be done. Im 26 and i live in Beverly Hills. I wouldnt call myself a super rich but i have it better off than most. For the record I dont believe in paying monthly for a game. Once you buy it, you deserve it.
Trade offs are the same thing. You change somthing in real life just to pay for your game. Thats addiction. People that buy drugs do the same thing.

lol yeah the day it comes out is important, but same with innovation, game play, and content. To be honest, graphics and hype only get the consumer, but to keep the consumer, that takes skill, and a MMO that keeps on giving.
BTW P2P & B2P show more quality then cheep F2P games made in korea or china they also have alot more content and additional end game stuff

Sure anything can be accomplished but there has to be a movement to cause the change, the point in question is exactly that, no facts all opinions.
You need to realize F2P have a huge account base, 70million accounts created on Scions of Fate of that 70million there is only 1-2million that actually play the game. F2P games are easy to leave you leave nothing behind no achievements, so much different on a P2P scale. When you leave that P2P you think back of the accomplishments and the time you spent on the game and where has taken you. You feel sad to leave that character/account and start to barter if you want to or not.
F2P - No risk, no reward.
F2P is like a cheap hooker, she's good for a few hours, then you kick her out.

Its fien to not believe P2p will be a thing of the past. Thats natural. I could have told me 15 years ago VHS would never be a thing of the past and you wouldnt have believed me. The future brings change, and a mighty change it will be.
Get your facts straight. GW is not F2p, its B2p. WoW was just an example. There are more than 3 good MMO's coming out. Some are B2p, some are F2p. And Blue Ray will lose HD will win. Blue Ray will fail. HD is the future.

What do you mean F2p has no risk and no reward. There are plenty of great Free to play games out there. Saying they all such is plain ignorant.
WoW is like a religion. They only want your time and money.

Noob, it just changed to 81.9%.More recent numbers put this at 82%. Check your sources.
By any chance are you related to Jackdog?
Continue to pay monthly and when a good game comes out for free or even cheaper. Have fun realizing how much money and time you've wasted.
So all this is because you are to cheap to pay for games. I get it now.All the better, have fun in your dumb little free grindfests.
Bro, I cant stop laughing!!! Keep the comedy coming! Very creative!
By any chance are you related to Jackdog?
Continue to pay monthly and when a good game comes out for free or even cheaper. Have fun realizing how much money and time you've wasted.

Soon most games will all stop P2p.If a new game is to come out P2p it wont be worth it.
This guys a nubz.
Like almost everything you said was wrong.

I think its pretty pathetic to lower the way you live just because you wanna pay for your accounts on games you dont play. Its like saying if you dont eat lunch for 3 days that pays for WoW. Are you really that addicted to play a computer game taht you would do that?
Please oh great one with the future vision.. exploit us these great new F2P and B2P games that will change the world of MMORPGs as we know.
I'll be waiting for a nice full list because no matter what you put down i can easily counter it with blockbuster P2P MMORPGs that are coming out that will have loads of subscribers.

Thy shalt not give thee foresight.
Hahaha - I go with Democracy. 99% of posters agree that ORsaleen is a flippin newb and hes chatting breeze.
If 99% of you guys think that its is most likely true.
The same thing goes for predictions about MMO Finance Models. If most people like P2P for the qaulity
it provides, then it will be most successful simply because that is what the most people vote for with their credit cards.
Anyways this is funny.
Know Thyself.
lol yeah the day it comes out is important, but same with innovation, game play, and content.
