The most hardcore mmorpg out there?

WurstiWursti Member Posts: 12

I would like to know which game is the most hardcore mmorpg out to date?

A game with pretty hard rules or with no rules. For example when you die your corpse stays lootable or something similar. No carebear crap.

I am afraid there is not a single one anymore, is there?

Most mmorpgs seems to be infested with whiny kids and pink color...*shivers*

I'm playing hardcore right now, it's called Bored as Fricking Hell Online (BFHO).

Na nothing much out right now OP, you have Shadowbane which still has  a decent population because it is free, but the graphics are just awful

There are a few games that let you loot coin like EQ2.

Currently waiting for - Perfect World English, Age of Conan

How to play Perfect World in english

Currently messing with - Requiem Online

L2 can be a pretty unforgiving game.

At the low levels its not much of a problem, but when you die you will lose a good amount if XP and have a chance at dropping items. When you get to the higher levels and it takes a long long time to level up and items are expensive, thats when dieing becomes troublesome.

Just going around killing random people will give you "Karma" and turn your name red which makes you free game for anyone to attack. If you are red then you will almost always drop items when you die.

Then there are the demonic weapons that if you pick one up instantly turns your name red, you can kill people like theres no tomorrow and not have to worry about it. The more people you kill the more powerful you become. These weapons are on a timer though and when the timer is up you lose the weapon along with all the karma you got by picking the weapon up.

Castle sieges, big boss raids and all that stuff are also tons of fun. When you participate in a castle siege, be prepared to die quite often and lose XP though.

Lineage 2 is probably the most hard core game I can think of

depends on hardcore in what way....

if you define hardcore by having lootable corpse after you die, then shadowbane is probably the only game that still does that.....

no other mmorpgs out there could beat lineage 2 and f inal fantasy online in terms of the amount of time needed to reach max lvl...

wow is very hardcore at end game since you have to play the game like a job

tons of hardcore games  out there depends on what you are looking for... but normally those games sux

Well, you can try Shadowbane its F2P with corpse looting...I dont know if its the *most* hardcore out there.

You could also try building a time machine and going back to lets say 1999 and play on AC Darktide. DT is known to be the most brutal server in online gaming. You could play it now, but youd need to get into a good guild and p leveled and all that jazz.

Either than that your gonna have to wait my friend. Maybe AoC will bring something nice to the table.

EvE has free for all PvP no zome is 100% safe meaning a newbin newb areas for example can still be killed by another player. Also all the loot that survives his death is full lootable and anything that doesant survive the battle is permanantly destroyed. Loot such as a really coo gun can get damaged and will need repairing eventually.

EvE is so dangerous that many who try this game leave quickly as its seen too unfreandly and too PvP centric. But if you percevere you will find the silver lining to this game called Corps.

EvE can be totally merciless because if you die its possable to permantly lose Skillpoints some of which could have taken weeks for you t gain depending on the skill thats affected by your death.

Fortunatly enough tho this has helped create very strong social bonds between Corp [Guild] mates  almost family like in nature and even sometimes creates friendships between Corps in the same are who then usually band together for muterall protection.

In EvE the only law is the one you make.

I aggree that EvE is one of the most intence PvP games out there. My allience (PURE allience) controled a pretty large portion of north eastern space. We were constintly attacked my enemy alliences. get i nthe right alliences and you can find your self in massive 100= man ops. Thisgame gets you so immersed in economics and diplomatic situations that you acually begin to believe that your life is at risk at times. The game is amazing and nomatter how experianced you are you can still be helpful in a group.

It is importont to point out tho that you dont need to be or take part in a Alliance to have fun in eve all you need is a good corp of friends.

World of Warcraft is the most hardcore mmorpg out.

Play on Horde, live through the  chat community  from level 1-10 and move down a level at level 10-21 in the...Unspeakable Place of Darkness and if you can live through "barrens" chat level 10-21 every mmorpg you go into is a carebear game. Even Eve Online, yes even Eve Online pales in comparison to the...barrens chat...now turning chat off is a carebear thing to do and makes it much harder to live in other mmorpgs. So leave chat on, don't claw your eyes out, and try to keep your IQ at the same level when you first enter...barrens chat...you succeed in this, as I said, every mmorpg is easy peasy.

Now, for Alliance...they have it tough too. You see 100s of females dancing naked with a bra and panties, on mailboxes and in town/cities. What is so bad about this? Well, this also proves a challenge as those 100s of females stripped naked doing dances are actually males in real life. (yes all of them) This is really hard because it tests a different part of your brain than the...barrens chat...does. This tests your elite hardcore abilities. Are you going to get suckered into a character that is female but really male that is dancing for money? Well, if you give the feMALEcharacter money, it automatically makes you a carebear. Must be STRONG! Must get away from those dancing feMALES or if you want a real challenge stay near them and resist the temptation of answering their "Ned 1 guld plzz lol lol i female lol". You resist this and this makes you more hardcore, and easier to play in the barrens chat (which is really the final test).

finishes these two tests, and you will be hardcore in every mmorpg.

    EvE Online,
    go down to 0.0 space.
If you get shot (And you will) you'll be lucky if they don't blast your frozen corpse into oblivion,
either way you'll lose your ship and eeeeverything that was on it.

    How's that for hardcore?

Played so far: 9Dragons, AO, AC, AC2, CoX, DAoC, DF, DnL, DR, DDO, Ent, EvE, EQ, EQ2, FoMK, FFO, Fury, GW, HG:L, HZ, L1, L2, M59, MU, NC1, NC2, PS, PT, R:O, RF:O, RYL, Ryzom, SL, SB, SW:G, TR, TCoS, MX:O, UO, VG, WAR, WoW...
    It all sucked.

HeHe yea thats why every honest [as in not after an easy noob kill] EvE palyer advises that Noobs stay in high sec till they feel they are ready and can afford to los there ship and stuff.

Top PvP tip for eve follllow this ad even if you lose you will never be broke:- ONLY fly what you can afford to lose.

Remember that and you should be fine.

I was going to mention navyFIELD because of how hard the controls are to handle as well as all the tasks you must handle including knowing how angles work with projectiles.  However, StarQuest definetly is more hardcore.

While EvE may be the most hardcore mmo to date it still can't get away from that it's a very very boring game, I am one of them that still dream, that still dare believe and walk in the light in waiting for the true mmo of our time !Darkfall!

As well as the already mentioned Lineage 2 and Eve, Shadowbane can get pretty rough as well.

Everyone can attack anyone anywhere - except in major towns. When you die, anyone can loot your entire inventory except your equipped gear.

There are skills and entire classes dedicated to stealing items from other players without them even knowing you're there.
