So was there some kind of magic that happened on 7/18/07 that made everyone that made new accounts hype this game? -or was it just the OP and ?able ?
What made me go through this was this. Look at the current status. Notice of allowance has been issued by the US government.
Now they have 6 months to show what they are going to sell with the word "Darkfall".
Now that the evidence is right there in your face maybe you could take this time to realize that you've been arguing its existence even though it was already proven pages ago.
No, that does not prove this games existence. It just states that this game has 6 months to prove to the U.S. government it's not vaporware.
Yes which means it will be close to finishing if it wasnt they would have waited LONGER to issue the notice. Obviously this game has alot done and is NOT vaporware.
If it was then they wouldnt have even done that since most people wouldnt even look for that.

I may possibly be wrong with the beta happening soon or perhaps not. We will find out and whats truly important is that this is not vaporware.
Originally posted by godpuppet Ive had first hand experience with the British simulations, and if the greek sims are anything like ours, Darkfall is going to be worse then vaporware. Also what I dont understand, is how the OP believes a game company making sims has enough experience and knowledge to create not just a standard MMO, but a "revolutionary" MMO.
So youve seen all the military's simulations? Still that is a different country.
Making those simulations isnt like making pong. No one said making it was going to be easy. They seem to have enough knowledge to make a sim good enough for the military to use. im sure their skills arent limitied to just that.
When you see the end product, you realise how unsophisticated the software really is. The graphics/sound are ussually bottom bar to reduce hardware costs. The only difference with Military and Gaming, is that Military has to be more realistic, and ussually the only difference between Military software for different countrys, is that countrys require specific vehicle configurations.
Military requires for training software arent as high as public demands for gaming software. Military use a standardised system so theres no misgivings over getting the software to work across different hardwareconfigs/OS. It really is basic stuff and they're paid huge amounts for it.

That doesnt necessarily mean thats the best they can do. I'm sure they have a lot more skill and knowledge(well they have to be to do something of this magnitude).
Hope this link works, but I've been getting sick of vaporware trolls lately too, they don't admit they're wrong to something unless it's shoved in their face, even then though they tend to just try and change the subject lol
Again what does that link show? Does it show any proof the game will eevr come out?
Man u could go on the darkfall forums and read most of that crap.
Show some actuall proof that they have done so called work for the greek special forces and military, and they have done sims for them. Show me proof of their funding. Show me actuall in game footage not over 1 years old, and not 10 seconds long. Show me proof its not vaporware after 6 years already. Show me proof of the work they have done before.

Every troll on this forum can go to one the biggest private Banks in Greece , present a business plan, a company profile -and enough collateral to get $27M loan.
Enjoyed this thread a lot, it was fun to see all the trolls get smacked around, lefting crying on the floor "but don't you see Darkfall is to good to be true! I dare not believe! /cry /cry /cry some more". There can be no question or doubt that Darkfall is being produced and being produced by very capable people. OP and others have taken away any question what so ever about this.
Also I'd like to add the enormous success of the extremely mainstream mmo made by one of the biggest companies in the world, Sony, yes only big companies know what they are doing......Vanguard anyone?
I'd put my faith in two teenagers in a garage before I got excited by anything Sony makes.
I honestly can not do too much more to prove my point without learning Greek and digging through their web pages for even more proof. Honestly, it shouldnt be needed.
The simple fact to the notice of allowance that everyone is saying doesnt matter is that the lawyers used to obtain it, and the cost for the notice itself is huge. When i say huge....think about getting a lawyer and having a case that takes 4 years. That is about how long they battled for rights to Darkfall, which honestly is not uncommon. Coupled with the massive ammount of money they just got it gives all the right signs for a self publish. Aventurine has already said they want the perfect publisher or they will do it right themselves. you could argue the fact that the notice of allowance doesnt mean much, but it actually means a lot. They can extend up to 5 times on the current notice, which means this game could very well have up to 2 years left to launch, but the cost of extensions is immense. Put the simple facts which i have laid out very well and the argument of vaporware is clearly dismissed. Just embrace that the game is real, if it does or does not hold up to the vast promises it has given, we wont know, but we can assume now that it is going to come out.
To anyone who wants "more proof" via videos, well, there are videos, and if for a moment you think its so "easy" to throw one together, please endulge me by making a video and posting it for all of us, make sure you have dynamic nature movments, armor reflections, smooth mount movement and clean graphic breaks.
I am pretty sure most players here are too freaken stupid to go off and do research on their own. They want all the infomation here and now but dont have the patience or brains to look it over. Until Darkfall beta is announced, I doubt a lot of those kinds of players will be interested in checking it out. Why? Darkfall graphics are slightly subpar compared to Age of Conan. Darkfall doesnt have a friendly community, its forums are a total backlash against the interest of the project unless you have to gumption to take it in stride like me (most people wont bother tolerating DFO community).
However I think a Darkfall beta announcement will go a LONG ways of solving these difficulties. I can guarantee that there are hundreds of thousands of players that would see DFO beta come out and say "Holy shit, I thought that game was vaporware! AWESOME!" and come running to DFO to apply for beta. When release finally comes around, there is gonna be a lot of players coming out of the woodwork.
MMO community is waiting for a game like Darkfall, whether they know it or not. Some people just cant put their finger on it, but innovation is Darkfall's strength, and it might just revolutionize the MMORPG industry; well, at least the PvP-focused industry. Which, right now, is just about everybody that enjoys Battlegrounds in World of Warcraft.
PvP is PvP. Consentual or not, once you know good PvP, you seek something like Darkfall to revel in it.
Dont feel bad, I still have a Gothic 1 picture hanging in my room for some odd reason.
That and I have TWO Dark Age of Camelot posters on my room walls because I guess I bought it twice. I think I chucked the CD in the garbage the first time, but I honestly cant remember.
it is shown randomly through many web pages on the net that they have done military simulation work. Why are you so ignorant that you cant accept that just maybe this game isnt quite so vaporized after all

They asked for proof and wanted a good arguement. I think I delivered it well enough, with the help of questionable. Now imma be pissed if they cancel developement=P
No they didn;t. They went to E3 2006. They also stood in front of an empty booth with a Darkfall poster behind them while forgetting to bring along their game to show anyone. So If that is a sign of a huge well funded company with a solid product then I dunno what to say about that...........
If that is the same Aventurine company making DF and they have multiple millions to work with then what are they doing releasing 10 second alpha videos every 6 months? why don't they have a huge professional team rather than a bunch of mediocre devs wasting all their money for the last 6 years?
and if that truly is the same company and they have millions at their disposal I find it pretty disturbing that they've been releasing such crap over the years. It just shows how serious they actually take this game project.
hell maybe its just being used as a tax write off and they never intend on doing anything real with it.

Aye, they rather spend the cash on actually developing the game than holding hands. They have $27 million in loans. Its a lot of cash but you still want to use it wisly. BTW Aventurine was formed late in 2002 and that means the development didn't start in ernest before 2003. That means 4,5 years of development, not 6.

Sometimes a few people misinterpret a little bit to much.. in both directions. But a lot of others devs didnt either.. E3 says nothing.. especially the new E3.

You may or may not be correct. But why would E3 come in the way, if they didn't go there ? Did they spend so much time on gamespot or gamtrailers that they didn't have time to develop their game ? Unless you actually know the devs of DF, my guess is as good as yours
Edit: As I do some more research, your guess were better than mine I stand corrected, they did not go to E3. Warcry did, hench the delay.

This is enough proof to me.
