All people waiting for DF is aware of this problem, so its pretty easy to say "never gonna happen"...its the obvius part.
But nowdays i have more fun visiting the DF forum then playing any MMO. DF have destroyed all my expectations for a game.....
I wish it could be confirmed they would just stop development and shut it down.....but untill then im 100% sure i will play DF and have more fun then all my other MMO experience togeather
Darkfall, the name rings hope for all of us lost gamers. me, like many of the people who played AC, EQ, and UO during the glory days of MMO's. we need Darkfall, the demand is here, to not release the game for capital profit is unheard of. the game will be released, the question is when and at what level of completion. will Darkfall deliver all it claims upon release?
their are financiall backers that would release crap on a Disk to make a profit,.i mean, look at WoW , they made that load a complete success.
all i can think about is all Darkfall, and when it comes out... there will be a league of ultra-hardcore players taking their 2 weeks paid vacation to sit at home and advance in Darkfall. i will be one of them. untill then, i can save money and maybe i will be able to retire by the time Darkfall is released.
I think and hope that it will be completed. But the devs have to get their asses in motion, because if they wait another year or two the game might become outdated at release. IMO time is running out for them.

Well they released info on a demo version from last year to try and satisfy the community. Theyre using that demo to try and find a publisher and to raise funds to complete the game, thats my guess anyway.
After all, paying 24 employees all this time must be costing them millions upon millions. I suspect they now only have 2 or 3 developers until they get that funding.
As time passes their once 'revolutionary' ideas become old. What exactly is left what they have that is revolutionary? Their ideas dont exactly light my candle anymore. As far as i can see its all been done before. The future in mmo's i believe is new, original and dynamic content. Which that game (demo) no longer has.
I think they have niched themselves so much that no publisher will touch them. Constant vapourware comments dent their company no end.
In regard to that latest news post on their site, about the illegal copy of the demo and some dude being arrested for it. Wouldnt surprise me if its an employee whos done it. Great security/. Interesting anyway

This is the worst shame in MMO development history: DF is still revolutionaty
Other campanys have done nothing to make something similar or "better"....in 7 years
And the DF team must have foundings. They moved from Norway, one of Europes most expensive countrys.....to Greece, that would have given them a few years of extra time to development

Sounds like they took a page out of the Dark and Light "stall for more time" book.

I call BULLSHIT just like this entire project is.
Every good MMO company have hackers hacking it
Thats how we know its for real. Same happend to WoW you know.
It is really sad that a game that started development in what 2003? Is actually on such a level that it could beat a game like World of Warcraft?.... Correction, it's pathetic, really pathetic.
Quoting people doesn't make you clever, in fact, it makes you all the more stupid for not bothering to read the quotes you post in the first place.
Gotta love the DF fanbois who have an answer for everything. Theyre the only thing keeping this game on mmorpg probably.
If the 'demo' is so great, then why do they still not have a publisher or not published it themselves like they said. Maybe because every publisher who has seen it thinks there is nothing new in there and doesnt break any boundaries?
Im just waiting for it to go open source now, which will probably be torque code in there lol
Six months later and no real movement on this project. I find it sad, as I liked the concept of this game. How about we start looking to some of the Games in Development that we KNOW will be released?
I'm thinking that for those of us who like what DFO was offering could enjoy AoC immensely.
yeah anyone who can settle for the pve focused mmorpgs with "so called" pvp - that have become so popular after eq2 and wow's success - should definitely look into aoc (instance galore) and wowhammer.
Darkfall just sounds too good to be true. Way overhyped IMO. There is no way they will ever be able to implement everything they have promised. I think it will get released, but in a dumbed down version with half of the features they said they were going to have. I also think it will be buggy as hell.
Since I wrote this post almost a year ago I thought I'd give everyone an update with the progress being made towards completion. Oh yea, there is none.
tr took 6 years and its has good combat and thats about it darkfall did a grphics update and engine update in 2003 so game as bene in full tilt only for 5 years wtf is the problem?

Well, the OP put this up back in October.

Darkfall is my MMO dream. While i wait i will try PotBS then AoC.
I had some hopes for LOTRO and WAR, but as soon i found out both were like WoW with diffrent art or grafhics i just can throw them away.
All MMO is just something to play until something as DF is released

Looks awsome, but it smells a bit like dark and light did, will probably suck big time at launch, i dunno.
Starwars Galaxies, An Empier Diveded, That's what it says on my box anyway.
I agree' never gonna happen.
PROBABLY GONNA HAPPEN !!!
